    Kyles handyman service
We threw a lot of extra work at him and he was able to get it done in a timely fashion. We really appreciated his ability to reconfigure and make things fit when I didnt think it was possible. We will continue to call on him and gladly refer him to anyone needing projects done.

    Apex Design Build
Bought 4 hours for $178 which is how long it took to finish the job. The contractor on sight was only told about the 2 hours under a single agreement and asked to be paid on-the-spot for the other 2 hrs as he likely gets paid by the job and thus his insistence on payment. Said I would get reimbursed for any overpayment but I said no as I was paid in full. The company needs to communicate better with their employees to avoid placing the customer in an uncomfortable position.

    Brastock Contractors
This contractor sent his two sons to replace my deck. The contractor showed up briefly about 2 hours into the project. The old deck was totally removed before the new deck boards were painted with the Deck Over, so time was lost. The deck boards were placed with large knots on the and straightness, so there are large spaces between boards. Also, the boards were placed some with the crown of the board on top, which is not a problem, but most were placed with the crown down which doesn't allow water to run off the boards. Not a very attractive deck and collects water on the boards! Within just a few days of all the deck boards being screwed in, there was a large crack down the middle of one board that extended to the middle of the deck. There were several places where the paint was coming off and the wood sap was bubbling up. Less than a week after the deck was installed, I contacted Andrew Speer about the problems- split board, paint coming off, and water standing on boards. He said he would send his sons over to fix it. His sons came back on Saturday July 14 to finish and touch up paint. Mr Speer never can to see the problem. His son sent him a picture on his phone. His sons were very pleasant and happy to answer my questions. I received a call at 8:45 that night from Mr Speer who accused me of lying about the problems with the deck. He said I had dragged heavy items across the deck to scrape up the paint. He was extremely offended I had asked if he used treated wood(because of the sap bubbling). He literally was yelling at me on the phone and would not allow me to speak. I tried to tell him I was not accusing him of anything, but was simply asking questions since I am not very knowledgeable in this area. He accused my (25 year old professional) son of talking down to his sons. He wouldn't give me any details, but told me I needed to get my son under control. When I asked my son about it, he was flabbergasted. He had no idea what Mr Speer was talking about. I was there at the time and was unaware of any problems. His sons left on very good terms. I told him I was offended that he accused me of lying about the problems with my deck - I do not lie!!! I stated that I felt his accusations and behavior were unprofessional. I did not intend for him to do other than repair the split board and exchange or turn over any boards that were crown down and retaining water. I even said to him there was no hurry- whenever it fit in with his schedule. After about 40 minutes, he calmed down and agreed to come back to do the repairs. As of August 3, I had still not heard anything, nor had the work been completed, so I sent him a text message - " Do you have an idea of when you can replace the deck board?" There was no answer and there has been no repair of the deck. The extra boards and paint are still waiting by the deck for him to come and complete the job. This experience was very distressing at the time, and as more time has passed, I become more angry! I spent a lot of money in good faith that the job would be done well. Instead, I have a deck that needs several repairs and does not look good for having just been replaced. I cannot replace the board myself because they used a screw that requires a specific tool to insert. I can deal with the peeling paint-- it will just require power washing in the spring and repainting. I am a 62 year old widow and am limited on my ability to do carpentry.

It went extremely well. The electrician Michael was friendly while being businesslike. He worked quickly and explained things to me as he worked. I will definitely call the if I need electrical work done, regardless of how large or small the job is.

    James Petry Painting
If you hire anyone else besides James Petry Painting, you made the wrong choice. I have never come across a paint crew that did such a great job in a short amount of time. Their professionalism, demeanor, and manners were the best I have ever witnessed in the painting business. I highly recommend this company and will hire them again in a minute! They did such a great job, we are going to go ahead and get more painting here soon. I want to personally thank them for their great work in a move that has been very stressful. This company took the stress off! Great job!!!

    Rollins Rentals & Rehabs LLC
Personnel arrived at the scheduled time.  I had a list of jobs prepared and walked through the house with them.  Began work immediately.  I do not have knowledge of what materials may be needed to complete a specific repair.  Therefore, I was relieved when the repair man offered to go to Lowe's and pick up those supplies. We paid for those supplies in addition to the cost of Angie's List Deal previously purchased.  However, we expected that.  Workers did not exceed the time limit and cleaned up after themselves upon completion of work.

    General Improvement Inc
Let's start with May 2014 when a small leak due to ice damming from a horrible winter turned into a huge leak pouring water into my house faster than I could collect it.  There was a storm with several inches of rain and I had every pot and bucket collecting rain water in my recently remodeled kitchen.  Desperate, I texted Gary.  He came down to my Greenwood home from Fishers, got up on the roof, assessed the situation and applied a temporary fix, which included application of a waterproofing tar-like substance, clearing out debris from the gutters, and adjusting the gutters on the dormer so they would drain appropriately.
He also came into the kitchen, tore down the damaged drywall and wet insulation and draped fabric over the 4'x7' hole so that the area could dry out and insulation would not be dropping onto my kitchen counter.  He also met with our insurance claims adjuster several times, going to bat for us.  After several months of considering our options and dealing with insurance issues, Gary provided us with repair options upon our request.  He has been thorough, patient, meticulous, clean, prompt, and honest throughout the process.  He explains everything well.  He even watches out for our dog when he tries to escape out of an open gate!  I can't say enough good about his work.  We 100% trust him and his workers to be in our home when we were not able to be there.  He goes above and beyond for his clients.  He even replaced some siding on the other side of our dormer which was not a part of the original contract because he discovered it was rotting.  That shows me that he isn't there just to get a job done and move on.  He knew that rotten siding would cause problems eventually and just took the initiative to replace it.  He and his crew genuinely care about the work that they do and it shows.  I highly recommend General Improvement!

    VIP Home Solutions, LLC.
In September, 2013 we hired, what turned out to be, a con man contractor, to completely remodel our new home.
Yes, we had obtained bids from qualified Angie?s List contractors? but the day we intended to hire the more qualified company, they notified us they would be out of state, on a 3-week hunting and fishing vacation.
Since cool to cold weather would be settling in?and there were a number of outside projects that needed to be done, before winter, we had to make a decision.  We chose to go with the next highest bidder.  BIG MISTAKE!
On November 11, 2013, the former con man contractor, who used extremely deceptive practices?and ultimately caused over $75,000 in damages to our home and property?broke his contract and abandoned our job site.
Somehow, in the initial bidding-mix, we had missed Jim Smith, of VIP Home Solutions.  He, his company, and crew ultimately came to our rescue.
Because of complications in dealing with the former contractor's liability insurance company and bonding/surety firm, it took over a year to settle claims due us? that would help initiate repairs to the massive number of botched jobs the former contractor and his so-called crew left behind.
Fortunately, we had a written contract with the former contractor and copies of two bonds (one of which turned out to be a worthless, misrepresented bond).  Despite months of wrangling with insurance and surety reps, we eventually settled on amounts that would take care of some of the needed repair work.
VIP Home Solutions stuck with us, from the beginning (for nearly 14 months)... anytime an adjuster had to come out; anytime we needed a revised quote for the various insurers (who kept dragging their feet and delaying decisions anytime they could-- in their attempts to stretch decisions out past the Statute of Limitations); anytime our attorney needed quote verifications -- Jim Smith and his crew of experts would be there for us.
Eventually, after long delays, we received modest payments from the insurers.  But, by then, extensive water damage had occurred, inside and out, that had to be dealt with--especially in our basement.
Before we could hire VIP Home Solutions, LLC, we had to hire a professional excavator to correct a very severe grading problem, with our side yard, and to correct reinstallation of our basement egress window (both problems created by the former contractor).
VIP Home Solutions came to the rescue, to attack a full list of remodel projects that needed to be completed.
Included in VIP?s remodel projects were:
    ·     Complete remediation and partial re-installation of drywall; priming of our large basement walls (including entry room and staircase; family room; guest bedroom; security room; and full bath)
    ·     Stippling of FR ,Office and Guest Room ceilings
    ·     Extension and repair of a fake bathroom vent that was intended to be vented to the outside, but was never cut through
    ·     Complete remediation of flooded basement office wall; full remodel and painting of our basement office; closet; floor and door trim
    ·     Installed five basement doors and door handles
    ·     Repaired/reframed the basement egress window, that the former contractor had framed with a hidden ?paper? wood product that soaked up water from the outside
    ·     Electrical remediation of switches, plugs, and light fixture boxes in several rooms where the original contractor?s ?electrician? had botched the wiring jobs
    ·     Installation of a new half-bath electrical wall fixture box and wiring of new switches
    ·     Remediated and repaired hallway bath wall that had been left open by a plumber
    ·     Remediated/repaired and installed new outdoor cedar soffit material, over patio French doors, that had been left open and exposed to weather
    ·     Cleaned up, removed, and hauled away all trash
There are many more damaged projects?left over from the former contractor?that still must be remediated, but insurance money was not enough to cover it all.
When possible, we will definitely hire VIP Home Solutions, LLC to complete those projects, as well.
It is important to note that, from the beginning, everyone with VIP showed up on time (or were early).  At no time did any of the crew show up late. There was never any sign of cigarettes/smoking on our property (which is just the opposite of the former crew
who even put their cigarettes out on our wooden porch trim, and left butts all over our property, no matter how much we asked them not to do so).
Jim, Pat, and Mike were always courteous, kind and caring.  And they kept us informed every step, along the way.  They even showed up on the Friday prior to starting the job, to plan out each step with crew members?and to prepare the job site, staging area?and us?for what was to come.
I must also mention that their courtesy extends from all members of their office team, as well?at the 540 N. Madison Street office, in Greenwood, IN (46142).
I cannot give any higher recommendation for VIP Home Solutions, LLC? well, maybe an A+++++ in every category!
    Way to go, VIP!

    AquaDry Midwest Inc

This house that provider serviced is family-owned; we are in the process of selling it and needed some contracting work done.  The AquaDry rep and crew has been VERY prompt in meeting us at the house on several occasions.  We were on a date deadline as we prepared for appraisal, and the provider met our deadline dates.  They were very reasonable, not over-charging or finding additional repairs that really didn't need to be made; we appreciated that since selling a house can be pricey with fees & repairs.  The whole job was completed in a very satisfactory amount of time.  And although we still had an issue w/ a couple of items after their work was done, they quickly returned and took care of things to our complete satisfaction.

Very pleased w/ AquaDry Midwest and would recommend them to others.
