  • I have searched for a great cleaning company or person for a while. I haven't been wowed by anyone and thought I would try The Cleaning Fairy - maybe someone who doesn't have a crew might work better. I contacted Carol and booked several weeks around the holidays since I was running out of time as a single parent, working, getting to events and so on. Then I severely sprained my ankle so there was no way I could clean even with extra time. My first appointment came and Carol needed to reschedule due to a death in the family. I asked her to contact me the day before to let her know how to get access. I heard nothing so I emailed her - then she didn't show up. Her reasoning was her phone didn't work and she hadn't heard from me and assumed I changed my mind. Hmmm, red flags but I took her word and she rescheduled and came to the house with help since she had to squeeze in time for me. The work was subpar and I discussed that with her and she said next time she would make sure to be more detailed. I paid and then she was scheduled the next week. Well, she didn't show up! Then I emailed her and she said she had a car accident. I felt bad but heck, no one texted, emailed or called to let me know! She did end up coming the next day. I still had some things that weren't done to my satisfaction. I do keep a very clean home but when I see that items weren't dusted or nothing around the toilet was moved to vaccum around it or shampoo bottles in the shower weren't moved and cleaned underneath, well, I really don't want to continue paying someone when I would have to go back and clean. I let her know, she offered to come back but it would have been Christmas Eve and I wasn't going to ask that. Plus, I clean weekly, so I felt it was silly and she promised to do things better (or to my satisfaction) and I was good with that! Working towards a good partnership is fine when I feel that someone is willing to put the effort in. After the second cleaning critique, I received somewhat rude emails by saying she would make it right and wondered if I going to avoid paying her. Well, I wasn't planning on it but if someone isn't happy with your work, wouldn't you offer some type of compensation to keep business and show sincerity? I paid in full (by the way, her prices are reasonable). She explained she had issues with being paid before by others so I understood her concerns fanning out onto me. Again, putting the red flags to rest. The next time she was scheduled, I cleaned myself, my ankle was better but I was scheduled for some minor surgery and wanted the house clean by my standards for sure since I wasn't going to be able to do any strenuous activity for 3 weeks. I rescheduled cleaning times for the next 2 weeks and let her know about the surgery. Today was the day to clean, she texted me and said there was a school delay asking if she could come later. Sure! No problem to come at 11am after your kids are on their way. She said she would be at the house right after the 10:40am bus. I am sitting here at 6:15pm - she never showed, called, texted or emailed. Needless to say, I should have listened to my initial red flag. Unreliable, undependable, doesn't do a thorough job and obviously has no interest in doing so. Now, I have to find another company to come in and clean.

  • There were no additional fees. I had asked them to clean our tub a certain way. They said that if we wanted them to use our products, they would. So, I gave them our products to use and told them how I would like it to be done. She said that the way that I asked her to do it, she couldn't get it as clean as I wanted. We had had some issues with our well water. So I assumed that she did what she could and she just couldn't do any more. A couple of days after they left, I got down on my hands and knees and started scrubbing it. By the time I was done, it looked brand new. So, I knew that she hadn't done it the way I had asked her to do. I just wouldn't recommend them.

  • I purchased an Angie's List special offer and arranged with the owner for 4 additional hours of cleaning because I knew 3 hours would not be adequate and certainly unfair to the provider to expect them to complete the work in only 3 hrs. I requested that the baseboards, blinds, inside windows and ceiling fans be cleaned as well as the expected dusting, vacuuming and kitchen and bathroom cleaning. I was particularly pleased with how they cleaned a glass shower door that was covered with soap scum. Before they left, they asked me to check their work and I was happy with what they had done. Later I noticed that mirrored surfaces and windows were very smeared. It appeared the same cloth that was used for hard surface and furniture cleaning was also used on glass, leaving thick smears. I don't believe they actually mopped the kitchen and entry floors. They sprayed them with a cleaning solution and wiped them with a flat cleaning head. The floors were sticky for quite some time. None of these issues were big enough to ask them to return and I was basically happy with all they had done. The one issue that disappointed me was the broken toilet seat cover. The hinge evidently broke off when they were cleaning as it was propped up so that it was hard to tell it was broken until used. I understand things break and would never have been upset had I been informed. I was unhappy that I was not told and it was positioned so that I could not tell it was broken just by observation.

  • Called at 0900 and left message for ETA. No return call. I called back at 1100 and man answered and said would arrive between 2 to 3. At 4:30 called and left message as still had not arrived. Did not retun call. Called again at 4:45 and man answered and said would ck and call me back. Did return call this time and said didnt know only had 3 cleaners instead of 4 on team and running behind. Arrived before 5 pm!! I took day off for this and didnt even need to waste a day off as arrived so late. Had printed off list of what the service does and had prioritized as i had been asked to do onthe list but lead cleaner said didnt clean kitchen appliances or something. It was rediculous! Which was on the list!
    This is the first negative review i have posted. And i am not even picky but this was an awful day.

  • Jen quickly contacted me after purchase and was very flexible in scheduling my cleaning services.  She worked me in the Monday prior to Thanksgiving which was a huge help to me as I prepared for the family dinner at my house.  She and one of her crew members arrived on time, took time to discuss my priorities for the 4 hours and immedicately began cleaning.  They were very thorough and asked me questions as needed.  They worked quickly to cover alot of projects in the alloted time.  I enjoyed meeting Jen and will definitely contact her again when I need assistance.  She is pleasant and efficient!  My house was ready for Thanksgiving guests thanks to Jen!

  • The 1st time I used them was 3 weeks ago while we were on vacation. I had them come & do an initial deep cleaning. Then set up to have them come every 2 weeks. I hate cleaning and this is the best thing I've ever done. 4 ladies come with all the supplies and get right to work. I was there with my daughter for this weeks cleaning and they were all very nice. They left a sheet that showed what they had done and that was it. Becht had the best price for the deep cleaning and a very reasonable price for the continuing service.

  • It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They came out within a couple of weeks after purchase. There were no additional charges. They were easy to contact and schedule. They did a really good job cleaning. I would definitely hire them again; I would not hesitate at all.

However, we decided not to go with this cleaning service based on the price quoted. We have a fairly tight budget and so decided to go with an individual house cleaner vs a company.

  • First, let me say we started with Ronda at Over and Above Cleaning a couple of months ago.  We bought a deal on Angies list for bathroom cleaning.  They did such a good job that we scheduled a whole house cleaning a few weeks later.  They did an outstanding job on that as well.  Ronda is very customer service oriented.  She returned calls and texts right away and was always flexible.  We are relocating to another state so once our house was empty Over and Above came and did a "move out cleaning". It included inside and outside of cabinets, cleaning stove, oven and fridge.  The floors were done and now the house is ready for the realtor to show.  I am a little sad that we are out of state now, I would have used Ronda's services monthly if we were staying.  I found her too late!  She is a gem.
