Door Installation reviews in Fortville

They came out twice, once to measure and once to install the new pane. Both techs were friendly and professional. I thought the cost was very reasonable for two trips to my house, the window pane, and the installation. Window looks like new.

The craftsmanship was good when they showed up. I was told the process would take approximately 3 weeks to complete. It took 3 weeks, just for them to pull the permits. They did not know how the permit process worked and what size footing they had to have. The first inspection had to be repeated. The entire process took 13 weeks to complete. He blamed it on the permit process and rain. It rained a total of 5 days. They damaged my outdoor bar by cutting with a saw and used it as a work bench. The door they installed was warped, the door opening is too tall, I have 2-1/2" gap at the bottom I need to figure out how to fill. They did an awful job at cleaning up debris. They laid building materials in the mulch beds damaging plants. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone. I have pictures to back up all of these complaints

Installation was very professional and seamless. My only complaint is that we were advised to have "our" painters stain the doors, i.e. not included in the estimated cost for the doors. I did not realize that it would cost another $900. to complete this process. I would have appreciated a ball park figure for this additional bill.

    Universal Windows Direct of Indianapolis

We encountered Universal Windows at the Indianapolis Home Show in January.  They took time to discuss our needs & their product in detail.  We were impressed then.  Before the Home Show actually ended, a salesman came to our home & demonstrated their product. We were impressed & chose Universal Windows over the competitors.

They called about a week prior to schedule our installation date.

The installers showed up when they said they would.  Very timely.  They were very courteous.  After showing them what windows they were replacing that day, they got right to work.  The old windows that were being removed became problematic & didn't want to come out, even though they were broken & rotten in spots.  Removal took a little longer than expected.  By late afternoon, they had the windows installed & trimmed out inside.  They still had all of the wrapping & trimming to do on the outside, but the next day the weather was less than accommodating as it was raining heavily with a forecast of no letup for the next 2 days.  The original install day was a Tuesday, so to finish, they said they would be there on Friday.  They came back & were as punctual as Tuesday.  They actually took less than an hour for lunch both days.  They completed the outside work by mid-afternoon.  Everything was cleaned up & taken away.

We are very happy with the work that has been done & have shown off our new bay window with the etching to several friends & family & they have all liked it.  All other windows that we replaced where like what were removed.

Horrible experience.  Mirror Concepts installed our current master shower glass door when we built 12.5 years ago, so I went there to look at options for a frameless door.  Upon entering the showroom, I was immediately stopped in my tracks by a woman asking me if I had an appointment.  When I told her I didn't but I wanted to update my door she told me that no one could help me and that I had to have an appointment.  She took my name & number and said someone would call me.  I wanted to look around but she told me that I could not.  Really?!  By the time I got back into my car I had already decided that this was not the company for me.  The icing on the cake is that it took them 13 days to finally call me and the salesman hung up on me when I told him I already had it taken care of.

This company was great to work with.  I stopped by the shop one day when I was in the area.  Barry, the general manager, showed me the different options that could replace my current shower door.  He also explained the different glass options to me.  He took my name & number and said Kevin would call me later that day to schedule a time to come measure, which he did.  Kevin came out 2 days later, measured, and made some recommendations for me.  I had an estimate via email later that day.  I had some grout work that needed to be completed prior to the new door being installed and they were very accommodating.  They even came and removed my old door so the grout work could be done.  The door looks fantastic and really updates the bathroom.  The crew was very personable and did an awesome job.  They showed up when they were scheduled and cleaned up their mess before they left.  It was an absolute pleasure working with this company.

The process took an entire day.  The crew worked hard to get the project completed by the end of business hours for us.  There was a minor issue a few weeks later and someone came out within 2 business days to resolve it.

Perry Sloan was very thorough and did the right job by searching for the correct parts to eliminate air leaks and looseness to double entry way doors.  His crew also were excellent craftsman.  After they began the job they found they had to actually take off trim work and re-shim the  entire door frame.  The work took about three hours but once finished it was a perfect fit for the doors, no more draft leaks and doors were sturdy once again with very little play.  the clean up was impeccable, no trace they had been there.  We were patient with getting the job done as it took almost a month to get all the parts needed but it was the best money spent last year!

    Mr Window Inc

Mike and Mr Window were very professional.  Work crew did a great job and explained what they were doing when asked questions.  They seemed very knowledgeable and experienced.

This was an expensive project.  Mr Window was not the cheapest we could find but at the end of the day, we felt the quality of product coupled with company's history and reputation outweighed what savings we may have had with other options.

When I balked at original price they came back and worked with us to wear I was comfortable spending vs. what I would pay elsewhere.

Buyer beware when the owner of a company takes the immediate stance he did with me you should hope not to have a problem with their work.  These are the facts as I know and have experienced them.
