General Contracting reviews in Fortville

The craftsmanship was good when they showed up. I was told the process would take approximately 3 weeks to complete. It took 3 weeks, just for them to pull the permits. They did not know how the permit process worked and what size footing they had to have. The first inspection had to be repeated. The entire process took 13 weeks to complete. He blamed it on the permit process and rain. It rained a total of 5 days. They damaged my outdoor bar by cutting with a saw and used it as a work bench. The door they installed was warped, the door opening is too tall, I have 2-1/2" gap at the bottom I need to figure out how to fill. They did an awful job at cleaning up debris. They laid building materials in the mulch beds damaging plants. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone. I have pictures to back up all of these complaints

The process was smooth from the beginning.  They came out and walked through the framed room with me and really listened to what we wanted.  I felt like we were on the same page.  Their quote was very reasonable and we ultimately chose them not only for price but because of the reviews on Angie's List and the comfort we felt with them.
The employees and contractors were always prompt and friendly.  This was a long project with workers in our house for several weeks.  Every day when they left there was no proof that work was being done inside the house except the plastic placed on the carpet to keep it clean.  They always thoroughly cleaned up at the end of the day.  There was never any construction debris left.  They kept us informed of the progress they were making and of what would come next and when.  The work was perfect!  Exactly what we were wanting.  We couldn't be happier with the outcome.  We will definitely use them again in the future.

The carpentry crew arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time and worked quickly. They were through with their part in less than two hours. I thought the drywall/mud work would be completed that same day (my misunderstanding) but they arrived the next morning and worked through early afternoon repairing and replacing drywall and mud. They arrived the third morning on schedule to begin painting and were wrapping up by early afternoon.
The guys were working with four different paint colors for this job, one only a shade darker than another color. They didn't realize the paint store didn't give them a gallon of the darker shade until two coats of the lighter color had already been applied in the powder room. While the painters were willing to go back and get the color I asked for (one shade darker), it made no sense to repaint. To make up for the mistake, they used extra trim paint to freshen up some doors that weren't part of the specified work.
We've been in our home 7 years and those doors really needed some cleaning up, so I'm appreciative of the gesture. Plus my family and friends never noticed the powder room was darker than the hall, so I'm glad I didn't make them repaint. I'm happy with the work.

We decided not to use them because we didn't want to coordinate different contractors so we decided to go with a kind of one stop shop guy. I didn't want to use steel beams in my basement. They wanted to use steel instead of wood framing. They said that was what they recommended and that's what they would do. We didn't want to be the general contractor is the main reason we didn’t use them. Their quote was fair. They were real nice guys. They came out and gave us a quote right away.

First, they were nice in working with me during the time frame I needed.  They removed the rotten boards, power-washed the garage, replaced trim as needed, and painted the garage.  When the bottom boards were removed, the pull on the next board above made some of those nails loose/ caused some cracking. Rick Kunzer, my project manager, was concerned and had these fixed.  However, he didn't think it looked good enough, so he came back himself and re-fixed them with a harder substance and sanded them down before they were painted again.  Then he felt the paint on these areas didn't perfectly match the rest of the paint, so he had his crew put another coat on the whole garage!  It looks great!!  I'm very happy with their work.

    THAT GUY PROJECTS
Tracy and Ray were prompt and professional. They came the next day after I called for an estimate on fixing a broken door frame. They were friendly and gave me helpful advice on other projects around my house. Ray came back several days later, arrived punctually and finished the work in the quoted time frame. The workmanship was great and he cleaned up after he was done. I will use them again.

    Thomas J Pearson Inc
We selected Thomas J. Pearson, Inc. due to the fact that they gave use the most reasonable estimate for the work to be performed. They started and completed on project on time. During the length of our project they strived to keep our home as clean as possible even going so far as using the hole for and later the egress window to access our basement project. We are impressed with the quality of the work, and they even went as far as adding extra trim to some support coloumns and created an art niche without increasing the cost of the project just to give the room architectural detail. Everyone that worked on the project was friendly and respectful.

    FOWLER'S FINEST
I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism, when I had him out to give me an estimate. His estimate was accurate and very fair. As with most remodeling, I thought this would be a nightmare, but it went extremely smooth and when I got home each night I saw the progress and although it was a massive project, he left it picked up and clean everyday. I felt confident if there was a problem it would be taken care of. Tony gave me many options on layouts of both the hardwood and ceramic tile and was very detailed in his work. Great job, very satisfied. I highly recommend Fowler's Finest for any projects. I'm looking forward to having my granite counter tops and marble back-splash done this summer. Thanks for the outstanding workmanship.

Mike was very knowledgeable and personable. Felt at ease with him working on my dream home. In depth consultation before any work began, and answered all of my questions before I asked. Installation crew kept my yard clean. They were very polite to myself and neighbors. Their appearance was clean. I could not have asked for a better experience, from start to finish from Mike and his crew. Wonderful selection of products, both siding and windows
