    Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency Hospital
Pros: They saved the cat's life Cons: Extremely expensive, very mercenary All this went down in about Dec 2015 I was hiking in the Ocala National Forest, Florida when our house watcher called us saying the cat was sick. I instructed her. to take it to the nearest animal hospital, "Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency Specialty Hospital". They called me back within 20 minutes saying the cat was near death and needed immediate treatment. They wanted a credit card to begin. I explained where I was and it would take me an hour to get to my car (and wallet). I asked them to begin and I would call as soon as I could get to my credit card. They absolutely refused to begin until they had the card number. I got back to the car and got them the requested information in about 45 minutes. By some miracle the cat survived the delay. After all was said and done treatment ended up costing $5,000 over several trips to the hospital. Had my other half not loved this animal so much, I would have had the cat euthanized. I will not use them again unless there is no other option.

    JOANNA'S ANIMAL GROOMING
Absolute worst dog grooming experience we've ever had in multiple cases with Joanna's Animal Grooming Salon. Not necessarily because of the quality of the work but because of the lack of effort of the staff to follow grooming instructions provided by the customer. We took our dog multiple times to this groomer and each time they were instructed NOT to do any additional cutting or trimming of the fur besides potty area. Each and every time our dog was returned with a shave in the face and paws among the potty areas. When calling to discuss why instructions were not followed, the staff blamed us for not explicitly stating not to cut or trim the face or paws... Which is ridiculous because the instructions were not to cut or trim ANYTHING besides potty area... The staff stated that the face and paws are part of their bathing process and it's our fault for not explicitly stating not to cut or trim the face and/or paws... Which is completely asinine given our instructions. When pointing this out to the staff I was quickly transferred to the owner then asked not to return as a customer (which I had no intentions of anyway). The way we were treated was absolutely absurd. DO NOT recommend unless you are ok with the staff grooming however they please despite your wishes. Not to mention some of the rudest staff we've ever experienced.

    Perfect Paws Pet Rescue Inc
We picked up our 6-7 week old pup this last Tuesday from their vet (Fort Wayne Pet Hospital) after getting spayed. Spaying a dog that young in and of itself is suspect. When we inquired about the large bulge around the incision, we were told not to worry, it's normal swelling. There's a difference between swelling and a ping pong ball sized lump. When we took her to our vet on Friday, examination and x-ray confirmed a hernia through the muscle wall. However, when we called Perfect Pet (thinking she would want to talk to her vet about this) we were accused of lying, we were told that our vet was incompetent, we were told that there was a laser treatment for swelling (absurd). The woman was rude and vile. Covering her own posterior was her goal, not the welfare of the animal. If she responds on this platform, she will no doubt blame us ( I've seen her pattern on other forums), but please note that we did not cause the hernia and we did not call her to pick a fight.

    Dupont Veterinary Clinic
Appointment went great. The vet and vet tech took the time to answer all of my questions. My new dog and I felt very comfortable while we were there. They took extra time with him to make him feel relaxed as he is sometimes skittish due to his history. I would highly recommend this vet office. They truly care about you and your pet. Everyone is very nice. He also needed some shots which I wasn't able to get that day, they let me bring him back when I was able and only charged me for the shot. Great place. Your pet will truly like it here.

    Fort Wayne Pet Hospital
When I took my pet in to have him put down we had to sit and wait in the waiting area for 15 minutes. It was already a very stressful and sad situation but making us wait like that agitated my dog even more than he already was. Having to do that is the most horrible thing and how they acted and treated us is unforgivable. I also had some teeth removed from my other dog and Dr. Martin broke her jaw while doing this. He acted as if it wasn't a big deal. He had to wire her jaw. She was never the same after that. She passed away before her time. They just didn't seem to care about either instance. I feel that Dr. Martin was rushing when he did the surgery. They are always over booked. While the services here are cheaper you should spend a little more money and go to someone who isn't rushed and actually cares about you and your pet.

    East State Veterinary Clinic
Wish I had switched to them a long time ago. Going to the Vet. is SO much less stressful for her and me. They have remembered (or read the chart) how nervous she gets and adjusted their voices and quick movements to calm her fears every time she has visited. It's the difference between night and day.

    Fort Wayne Pet Hospital
I was so happy when I moved to Fort Wayne and found this wonderful veterinary clinic. Fort Wayne Pet Hospital has an entire knowledgeable staff of animal lovers. Dr. Marcus Martin is friendly and professional...he's always taken good care of my dogs and has gone above and beyond more than once when I was facing bad news...I appreciate his common sense approach and the reasonable costs. While the front office staff has always been friendly, they do seem to be very busy so don't be surprised to wait a while for them to return a call or for calls to be somewhat abrupt. Being that Fort Wayne Pet Hospital seems to be a busy place, I plan my time accordingly...I've not felt rushed during my appointments...they've "fit me in" on short notice and at the end of the day more than once when I was going through illnesses with my dogs...I've also occasionally noticed someone who appears to be dealing with something bad get slipped in ahead me...I think they try to give their best care to every animal each day. The vet techs have always been friendly and professional as well, however, I did have a somewhat negative experience with a newer member of the staff who bathed one of my dogs when I was recovering from surgery...note, my dog was not physically harmed or anything like that...and to be fair, this particular dog is a rescue, does have a few quirks and can be a little challenging...in the end, I might try getting one of my other dogs bathed there but probably would not have this particular dog bathed there again or at least would ask for a more experienced person.

They do a good job. It was pretty cheap. They get along with the dog and the dog seems to be comfortable there and that's probably what's more important. This guy got out of bed to come down to take care of this dog. I've always worked under an appointment but I have never sat there and waited.

    East State Veterinary Clinic

It is more for people who don't have money, and it was set up more for non-profit. It was started by the Fort Wane government and community service. It is open everyday of the week and Saturdays also. They are always compassionate. They know my situation, and they charge me as little as they can. I see a veterinarian that is very good. They know what they are doing. They are up to date as far as I know. The problem with any veterinary service is that it is hard to find any veterinary service that stands on its own. Most of the veterinary services in Fort Wane are owned by one conglomerate -- and there are very few -- I think there are only two that the vet started the business themselves and it is entirely their business. It is very hard to find anyone that is compassionate. I am very lucky that the East State veterinary clinic doctors make their own decisions. The company that owns them that makes the prices high, so they know what they are doing. My vet in particular. There are two vets. One is very good at taking care of the small dogs teeth, and it is very difficult to take care of the little dogs teeth as they grow old. It needs care when you get their teeth pulled. I don't know the name of the lady. The main doctor is Dr. Anders and she is very understanding about dogs. Her dad started the canine police unit in Fort Wayne. I have a service dog. I have a disability because of someone running a red light and playing on their cell phone. My service dog is a german shepherd and in my will, I have her, and she said she would take my dog if anything ever happened to me. I know she will take care of my dog. My dog is very intelligent and very well taught. She takes good care of all 3 of my dogs. She is a special vet. They give me some compassion on price.

They don't go there anymore; it is just too far away. They are too expensive. Besides the distance it would also be the lack of friendliness. They really never did anything other than shots. You had to always wait a long time.
