    Fort Wayne Endocrinology
I had been going to Fort Wayne Endocrinology for approximately 3 years with the same insurance with very few problems. After taking a new job I presented my new insurance card to the office staff and they said they took the insurance. I never receive a bill after that first visit and assumed the visit was covered by insurance. I went back 6 months later for my next appointment and presented a new insurance card. Again, they said they took the insurance. Approximately 3 weeks after the last appointment aI received a bill for the entire amount of the two visits, over $1,400. I called them and asked why they did not file the visits through my insurances. They rudely stated that they told me at the appointment they did not take my insurance. I spoke with the office supervisor and they stuck to the same story, stating that I was explicitly told they did not take my insurance. They never said anything of the sort at the time of my appointment, I would never have gone to an appointment knowing it was not in network with my insruance. It was their word against mine so I felt I had no choice but to pay the balance they fraudulently claimed I owed them.

I've been going to PTI for 2 1/2 years. I have met my weight goals, Lowered my BP, cholesterol & triglyceride levels all within normal limits. You workout one on one with a trainer and meet with the nutritionist every 2 weeks. The support I have received has help me achieve and maintain my goals.

I've been here almost 5 years and have had my ups and downs.  Being in my late 60's there have been some medical problems that have hindered me but these people have worked with me and all my medical providers to that I could continue to attend and work around not using whatever part was affected and at times even working with physical therapist to enhance or not aggravate an ankle or shoulder, etc. They have encouraged me on 'blah' days with humor - never harassment or screaming, although there are others at the place that seem to want/respond to that which makes me see that the trainers fit their sessions to needs of their client.  The nutrition counselor works with you every other week or whenever needed to help make better choices and mark your progress and goals.  The owner is always available with encouragement and a cheery greeting and smile.  It is small, family atmosphere where you are greeted by first name when you arrive.  You are never 'lost in the crowd'! There are people of all ages and sizes here!  Never feel that you have to be in perfect shape in order to join - my goal is, and always has been, for better health than when I started, knowing I'll never have that 'beach body', but to be a healthier person than sitting home wishing I had one,  by getting out and just doing what I could by moving as much as I possibly could with the help of my personal trainer!

Each trainer at PTI has their own approach to training you.  That being said they are all very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to making sure you perform your routines safely and in the most effective way.  Nutrition appointments are always very helpful as well, providing me with recipes to try as well as food items to implement or remove from my diet.

    Spiece Fitness
Peg was able to answer all my questions easily and Becky helped me feel very comfortable about getting started in an exercise routine. I will meet with a trainer when I start to be assessed and introduced to the exercise facility. There are several classes I can take without additional charge on the floor, spinning, or in the pool. In seems as though they offer everything you could want in an exercise facility.

    Planet Fitness
The ability to get in and the use of the equipment whenever you want...I like the equipment they have in there; that's basically about it. And they all have instructions on how to use all of the equipment. They have one section that pertains to one thing. They will tell you how to go from machine to machine. You only spend so much on each machine and they have a light that will light when you exchange machines.

    Jorgensen YMCA
My family have been members for the past 2 years and we love it!! My husband is at the gym daily and I go a few times each week as well. We never have any complaints and the staff is always friendly and helpful if needed.

    Max Fitness-w Dupon
Overall, I am very happy with Max Fitness minus a few things. I hate the fact that you have to pay for classes that aren't Zumba and Cycling. I know other gyms that offer their classes for free. . For Example, Max Fitness's "Max Burn" class cost $10 and it was some 18 year old guy teaching whoever showed up to the class (which happened to be three people) in the middle of the turf room with no music or anything. I felt very unmotivated and thought this price was WAY overpriced. I haven't been back since. I also don't like that after you have been a member for 90 days, you have to pay $30 in annual dues. Also, their WiFi isn't always the greatest if there are a lot of people.

I love the turf room and different equipment that you have access to. Their equipment is all very new! I also love their hours. It is perfect for a busy person who is trying to squeeze a gym session in at 11 pm.

    YMCA - Downtown
I have numerous good things to say about the downtown YMCA. Being a college student, the membership is very affordable. Since it is a non-for-profit organization they never turn anyone down due to financial reasons.

I love the workout classes ! They have great cycling and boot camp classes. They have great instructors that are young and motivating. I also love their staff. They are very friendly and willing to help if you do not know how to use a machine.

Being in the fact that is in downtown, I sometimes don't feel the safest walking out to my car late at night by myself. Also, there have been cases of stealing throughout the gym so I always make sure I keep my Ipad, Iphone, ext. with me.

    Stone Fitness Equipment
When Roger, the owner of Stone Fitness Equipment, started to give our treadmill a tune-up, he quickly noticed that we had a severe issue with our frame. Apparently a weld had broken on the frame holding the front bar for the main belt that you run on. We have owned our Nordic Track treadmill for a couple of years but the warranty had run out 9 months ago. He called his contact at Nordic Track and advocated for us since this was clearly a manufacturer problem not a user problem. He made phone calls in front of me and I felt that he put all his influence on our situation.
Eventually I was contacted by Nordic Track and they did not stand by their frame. I called Roger back and I worked through a family friend to have the treadmill re-welded properly. After the weld job, Roger came back and did the entire tune-up and now our treadmill is as good as the day we bought it. I do not recall the exact price, but a tune-up is under $100. Roger is nice, easy to work with, and truly knows what he is doing with fitness equipment.
