The sidewalk workmanship was good, however. The ground under the sod was not evened out very well. There are many uneven places. They are nice, and think that being nice is all that's necessary to stay in business, and that you are going to overlook: 1. Not disclosing how backed up they are. 2. Asking the person what kind of sidewalk they had in mind but just assigning them a (probably a high-end) sidewalk. 3. Being punctual. 4. Respect changes you have made (hello, remember the conversation about the dead stump in the front; and taking off the seeding and hay). I asked "how do you want to get paid?" Answer: "That's a good question." Last but not least, keep Harley from dealing with clients. She has 0 public relations skills.

So far, we are really happy with their work. The way it looks and the quality of the work. It looks like a stone wall. They stained the wall afterwards. They came on time, they worked hard. They did sub contract out the stamped concrete; who also did a very good job.

I contracted with Contemporary Landscape Design to do the work. The project took about 1.5 days to complete the sidewalk and 1.5 days to complete the trenching/installing of the drain pipe. After the pipe was installed, the team ensured that the excavated areas surface was smooth, properly graded, and reseeded. Contemporary used a relatively small crew, I believe only 5 guys were involved in my projects. The team took time to clean up at the end of each days work. Jeff, Mike and all of the team members were courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. Mike, designer/manager, was especially helpful answering my questions and providing valuable input for me to consider. Breakdown of total cost ($5338.91): Sidewalk - $3499.31; Drain pipe - $1308.22; Miscellaneous landscaping additions (rocks, weed barrier, labor) - $531.38 The stonemaker technique is a different form of concrete preparation and the finished product looks exactly like natural stone. However, I was very disappointed when within two (2) weeks after installation; I discovered three (3) cracks ranging in size from 12-15 in the concrete. Contemporary agreed to repair the cracks. Prior to Contemporary returning to complete the repairs, two (2) additional cracks appeared. Despite the cracks, I still love the completed project and have received several compliments from neighbors and family. However, I just did not expect a new $3,500 sidewalk to develop so many cracks in such a short time, especially from a product that clams to be harder than regular concrete. I am anxious to see how the stonemaker concrete performs over the winter. My lower than excellent rating is based on the quality of the concrete. The work crew and the drain pipe installation would receive a higher rating if I could differentiate. NOTE: I had rated Contemporary Landscape as 5 Stars on the website RateABiz within a couple of days of the sidewalk installation before the cracks appeared, but have been unable to lower my rating by one star. I will continue to try to update that review.

terrible, in every respect. 2 months behind schedule low spots were not leveled with dirt did not finish the small paver area....told me how to finish it myself...grass did not come up their alleged top soil was hard clay. when finished gave me a bill for an amount 700.00 above the original contract price for extra work he said was not on original agreement but when I showed him the contract he said that he would accept the original price...what a nice guy huh? would never use or recommend them to anyone.

Ran into weather problems (rain). Delayed installation. Communication not real good during delays. Had to redo one wall. Did so with no additional charge even though I am sure it cost them money. Kept to original bid.  Love the finished product. Clean up of yard was great.

The person I talk to was respectful and professional. He understands what I wanted right away and he did not just wanted to sell me stuff I did not wanted. They were simple and easy to understand. So far I am happy they were willing wait until I get approval.

Arrived when he said he would.  Worked nonstop.  Brought large rock on small trailer and WHEELBARRELLED it down to lake.  He and his helpers were pleasant, cheerful, friendly.  I was impressed at how they chatted and visited while doing very hard, hot work.  I highly recommend this company.

It has been a great experience with them. They took a vision that I had and they did just great things with it. They gave me the design with the plan that needed to be used for the landscaping. It is easy and just a joy to work with them. His designer came in and they were able to understand what I had visualized and put it to plan for me. They were able to bring the people in on timely manner and get it done. The price is little high, but it is worth it. He is very busy and sometimes to hard to get him. I would use them again.

He did take a while to respond.  However once here he did ask a lot of questions and produced a detailed proposal including a graphic design of the proposal on paper.  I think however the design was too grandiose for us.  We probably will call him back to implement certain aspects of the design like the basic paver patio and knee wall for seating around an existing patio.  However, we won't do the larger scale earthmoving, terracing, fountain, and firepit that brings the total upwards of 20 grand.  We just do not have the scale of house that would ever make such an investment sensible.  I believe that probably if I approached him again we could work together to scale back the plans.

The work was done very professionally and is of top quickly. The materials and personnel involved were top notch. They delivered everything that was promised and added additional services we requested.
