    ROCKY RILEY ASPHALT
The driveway turned out great. It is easily one of the nicest asphalt jobs I have ever seen. Rocky is not overpriced and delivers a quality product. I recommend his services because he did an excellent job on my driveway.

    Asphalt Coat Sealing & Repair
Actually his son Paul Vanpelt of Finishing Touch did the work. He arrived promptly to give me an estimate which I felt was fair. The work was completed the next day and looks great. I'm very pleased.

    Global Paving & Asphalt LLC
I called global asphalt and paving in the a m for a price on removing and replacing the asphalt in my drive. He said that they got pulled off of another job and could do my drive that same day which really surprised me.They started about 10 and were done at about 4. They also did my neighbors drive at the same time. they did exactly what I asked them to do and did an excellent job.

    Asphalt Coat Sealing & Repair
One hot summer afternoon, we heard a knock at the door, and Paul (Jerry) Vanpelt offered us his services, explaining that he wanted to use up the asphalt remaining in his tank and saw that our asphalt driveway could use sealing. He offered a real deal - 150 for the whole driveway. We check up with them on the Fort Wayne Better Business Bureau, but since he is new to town and brand-new to the BBB, his rating is low. He showed us an album with photos of driveways that he had sealed, before and after, as well as his license from the county. Since we knew we would spend well over 400 just on the sealing agent, we couldn't refuse this deal. One hour later, the driveway was sealed. We have just moved into our home, and have never before had a driveway sealed, so we have no point of reference for evaluating the quality (hence the "good"), but it looks better than what we could have done ourselves, and it definitely cost less in terms of materials and time. We were a little nervous, since he approached us, rather than us approaching him, but he seems like a nice guy, and we are glad that we let him seal our driveway.

    Top Notch Asphalt
All of the communication was by phone or text. The quote was verbal over the phone also. Top Notch showed up on time and started work. My driveway was in terrible condition since I haven't sealed it in 15 years. They completed the sealing and an unforecasted thunderstorm came up and diluted the sealer. Top Notch came back and redid the entire job. It looks great! They were very professional and communicated every step of the project in excellent fashion. I will be calling them again to seal or repave in a couple of years. I would recommend Top Notch to anyone.

    Stephens Concrete Sealing
Yeah they did a good job. I was not there when they did the job so I cannot describe what they did. The package we bought covered part of it and then there was an add on fee that was very reasonable. So they did the drive top sealing and the whole drive way and as i said it has been very good. There was nothing negative and they did a good job and they were the one actually reaching out to me to get it scheduled and they got it done before winter got here and that was good. The $80 covered a certain amount of the drive way and there was the add on.

    Asphalt Maintenance Service
It went outstanding. They were most pleasant to deal with. Their crews were professional and the price was defiantly reasonable.

    D & M Concrete LLC
I got an estimate in early spring to replace a large 3 bay garage driveway. They gave me a fair price then a couple of days later took me around to see several driveways they poured in the past. I was sold and told Marvin I would like for them to put me on their schedule. He said he would, but seemed very distracted and busy at the time. I called a couple of days later just to make sure he knew who I was and what my address was, he said "yes, I got you". More than a month passed and I had heard nothing so I called again, Marvin said they were trying to wait until they had a couple of projects in the area before they started. Probably another 6 weeks passed with no word so once again I called and this time I got voicemail, I left a message telling who I was and asked him to call me back. No return call. I made the same call a day later and left a message again, and once again no return call. I then pursued someone else to do the job If you want someone you can depend on for your concrete job see my review on Foundation Doctors, you won't be disappointed!

    Jack's Paving
Jack Riley stopped by my  home on the afternoon of 5/23/2013. He stated he had completed a driveway project up the street and had some leftover-recyced asphalt that he could use on our drive at a reduced price. He stated that the product he used when properly applied and rolled would require no maintenance.  No resurfacing would EVER be required and no top coating would be needed. He said that his company offered a one year full guarantee and he assured our complete satisfaction. No payment would be required until the work was complete. Finally he stated he would supply us with an itemized bill stating the dimensions of the drivway the amount of asphalt used and the thickness obtained. We told him we were leaving town and he assured us he could complete the job that afternoon. We told him that we would only do the work if he could do the entire drive and not just the teardrop portion. He stated that he was certain that he could obtain enough product to complete the job in the limited time. After much discussion we agreed to the work. During the actual work process his crew seemed to act professionally and they seemed to have adequate equipment. Unfortunately, at the end of the day they still lacked enough material to complete the job so Jack stated that he would have to come back 1st thing in the morning to finish the work. We agreed to delay our departure until the driveway was completed. After the crew left we examined the new surface and noticed that the surface seemed "loose." When we confronted Jack with this in the a.m. he said that the material required some time to "set." He assured us that everything looked great. He recommended that we not use the drive for 24 hours. When the work was complete the crew started to clean and load their equipment. We gave Jack the check and he went back to his truck. We thought he was going back to write up our receipt and guarantee contract. We waited ten minutes or so and then walked down to where the workers were. To our surprise Jack was nowhere to be found. One worker stated that he had to leave but that he would call him and tell him to return with the paperwork.  He did not return then or ever. I was finally able to reach him by phone and told him to just leave the paperwork in our mailbox. He agreed. On our return to town we could not locate the promised paperwork and we again called Jack. He stated it was illegal to leave anything in the mailbox so he had not left the material. I accepted his explanation and asked that he just mail it to me. Again he agreed and I waited. Nothing arrived. I have continued to phone him over the past two months but now he just does not answer his phone or he just hangs up. The driveway continues to deteriorate. The recycled  material never has set and it is impossible to sweep or hose it down without losing large amounts of the surfacing material. A few weeks ago we had a gentleman spray a "tarlike" compound on the surface of the driveway to help stabilize the loose gravel. This has helped some but the asphalt is so loose that it continues to rub off. It is evident that it will continue to get worse. Our main complaints are: Quality of work was below par - loose under packed gravel Material below par Job ethics and honesty were nil Will not offer suggestions regarding correction of problem Has not kept his word on anything before/after completion of job Will not supply any paperwork I have learned his home base is Port Clinton, Ohio. He operates in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. I am told such people are referred to as Gypsy contractors and they take advantage of lots of hard working people. I am reporting my experience to the BBB as I would like to help prevent him from taking advantage of other unsuspecting people. I have learned he presently has four complaints in Ohio. I have also contacted Michigan's BBB but have not yet had a response. Jack's is also listed under a few other names as well listed below: Gypsy Asphalt Contractors A to Z Roofing and Painting Triple R Asphalt BEWARE and stay away!
