    The job was done on a Saturday morning. The communication with Hazen was great and the quality of the workmanship was excellent. I've used Hazen for jobs all around my house and they've always done a good job. Their prices are competitive but not cheap, but they are worth every penny. There has rarely been a problem with their work, and when there was they fixed it.

    Tony was recommended to me on Facebook. Never again. He came to look at some wood rot to give me an estimate. The estimate looked fine so we scheduled the job. He told me he wanted half up front via Paypal, but I told him I was locked out of my account, that I would try, but would prefer bill pay (check sent from my bank.) I tried, but couldn't get back into Paypal, so I set up bill pay and texted Tony to tell him what I had done. I also told him 2 days ahead of the job that the check would arrive in 4 days. He responded ensuring I was sending it to the right address, etc. The day of the job he called me saying he was at my house and asking where I was. I reminded him that he told me I didn't need to be there - the work was entirely external. We moved past that, but then he said I was going to have to leave work and meet him at my bank to pay him since my bill pay check wouldn't come until Thursday. I pushed back on that because I couldn't rearrange my schedule at the last minute. He became aggressive pretty quickly - let me know he had 4 men at my house waiting to work and he was losing money. He also asked why I didn't want to pay him and insinuated I was having a hard time paying him and was going to stiff him. Really?! I mean...just leave dude. If you think someone is going to be that bad of a customer just cancel the job. He also said he was upset about the bill pay because he didn't know about it. That was lie #1 - he did know because I texted him and he responded. So odd. I completely understand his need for payment (half) up front - I just didn't have another option - we agreed to reschedule the work for Thursday. He came back Thursday and we did a walk around my house to confirm the work to be performed. I made a list as we walked and left for work. I received a call awhile later from the hardware store to pay for materials over the phone - something we had agreed to up front. I gave my cc info and the call ended. Tony call me back minutes later saying I needed to provide the extra 3 digits of my zip code. I asked if he meant the plus four, but he said no it was 3 numbers. I asked if he wasn't referring to the CID code but he said no the zip code. I was looking it up (not memorized), but before I could find it he said that he would just pay for it, that I could pay him cash later, and that that particular hardware store never accepts cc payment over the phone. He seemed extremely frustrated with me, but I didn't ask him to do this. And I will never understand why he agreed to pick up materials from a store that he knew wouldn't let me pay over the phone! We met at my bank later in the day so that I could pay him what was essentially the up front deposit. The job was going to take one day (even though he originally said 2-3), so the check in the mail was going to be payment for the remainder. When I got home I inspected the work, but there were a few spots left undone. He texted over the weekend saying the check hadn't arrived as promised and suggested he was going to just come over and get a check. It felt aggressive. I told him I would call my bank Monday to see what was going on. I did that, but didn't get any answers until I got home that night - the check was returned to me undeliverable. That's never happened to me before, but of course it happened this time. I texted Tony to let him know what happened - even sent a picture of the check. Said I'd be happy to give it to him once he finished the work. We ended up speaking the next day and he became extremely aggressive very quickly. He lied about what we spoke about during the walk around the morning of the job, lied about how he examined the house during the estimate, and then (this was all him bulldozing the conversation) he threatened to put a lien on my house for non-payment. WHAT ON EARTH!!! He has no integrity and poor communication skills. He lied to me, made harassing statements, and threatened legal action that was completely unnecessary. While part of this conflict stemmed from miscommunication that I am partly to blame for, his response was beyond unprofessional. I decided to pay Tony and to be done with him forever. Like I said at the beginning of my review, he was referred to me, but my experience was so bad I honestly can't imagine how other people can recommend him or how he stays in business.

    Craig arrive on time and took his shoes off when he entered the house. We had bought a 70" TV from Best Buy and they wanted $ 350 to mount it in our basement. Craig said he had mounted many large screen TV's and he also set uo our remotes and mounted speakers on the walls to give us great surround sound. He charged us $210 and did a lot more work than Best Buy was willing to do for $350. I will use him for other projects around the house in the future. Great guy!!

    Work was scheduled promptly. Eric did an excellent job and finished quickly. Price was very reasonable, especially considering that these screens tear off every couple of years and handymen in the past have charged some ridiculous prices.

Kevin came out on Saturday to perform the services we needed. He was prompt and super professional as well. He did an excellent job! I plan to use their services for all future home projects! :)

    When I purchased my home, I hired FPS to perform some "light" remodeling prior to moving in. During the remodeling, we discovered significant issues with the home that were previously unknown. The issues that we uncovered (mold, water damage, structural issues, code violations) required EXTENSIVE remediation and reconstruction to render the property habitable. Some of the issues were of an urgent nature. This created a very stressful situation for our family. The owner of FPS, Marc Fairchild, helped us understand the issues at hand and was both timely and professional in helping us navigate the remediation and subsequent reconstruction over an 8+ month period. In addition, Marc was very kind and compassionate to our family throughout the project(s) as this unforeseen situation created both financial and legal hardships. In addition, Marc has the most detailed documentation process of any contractor I have ever worked with. His level of documentation and detail has been absolutely vital throughout these projects. Some of the issues required emergency remediation that Marc and FPS addressed swiftly and efficiently. Marc coordinated with multiple subcontractors, creating a seamless process for us. In the end, the FPS team demolished the entire finished basement, worked with a subcontractor to remediate the mold issues and rebuilt the entire basement (starting from and including the studs). They took it from the concrete walls to a fully finished basement in several months. This included updated HVAC venting, installation of new egress window, updated plumbing, building a functional living space (completed with beautiful vinyl barnwood flooring) and installing a full bathroom and closet. We are very happy with the basement. It looks beautiful and is now a fully functional and safe place for our family. The FPS team also demolished the sunroom floor to perform crawl space remediation and reconstruction and address water issues in the space. They replaced some of the structural elements that had become damaged and installed a beautiful new tile floor as well as several new doors. The FPS team demolished living room built-ins and coordinated with a subcontractor to replace old carpet with hardwood. We found a large wood beam in an old barn. The FPS team took the beam that we found and used it to fabricate a new fireplace mantel. They modernized the staircase and installed new hardware throughout the house (hinges, door handles, locks, etc.). They installed 3 new doors (one exterior, two interior). They installed a new tile laundry room floor and installed the washer and dryer. They hung all of the items on the wall that were too heavy for us to hang by ourselves (everything is perfectly measured and centered). They installed an antique chandelier and replaced the great room ceiling fan. Marc and the FPS team are the best contractors I have ever worked with. The entire crew is professional and respectful. The majority of work (~7 months) was conducted prior to us moving in the home. The last month of construction was finished after we moved in. During that time, the crew was very thoughtful about minimizing the impact of ongoing activities to our family. Throughout the many projects, we only had a few minor issues. Initially I was unhappy with the look of the fireplace mantel and the staircase spindles. FPS fixed both to my satisfaction and at their expense. On one occasion, one of the workers accidentally left the gate open and our dogs ran away. When we discovered this, the worker stopped what he was doing at another property and immediately returned to our house. He was apologetic and helped us search for several hours until we found the dogs. I was so grateful to the FPS staff for making things right in these situations. I already have several additional projects lined up with FPS in the coming year. Whenever I need anything related to my home, FPS is my first call. My advice to others....FPS is excellent which means that their schedule books up quickly. If you are looking to get some work done, I recommend that you call at least 3-4 weeks in advance.

    Kurt was willing to install custom-ordered 3D feature walls in our home. Unlike another contractor, he noticed many items that would be affected by the new walls and I was relieved to have a professional who knew what he was doing. I cannot say enough about the skill and professionalism of Kurt and his team (Randy and Brett), whose work is impeccable and they were quiet, tidy, and respectful every moment in our house. I have since hired them for other work and awaiting another estimate from them - so relieved to find highly-skilled professional craftsmen whom I can rely upon for many home renovation needs. Prices were always in the range quoted and the invoices very detailed.

    It went as well as it could. The door needed to be removed from the guide. Randy nor I could figure a way to get it off the guide in order to lay it down and look at the rollers. Randy tried everything. He was frustrated and disappointed we couldn't get it removed to where he could really fix it. He said he would continue to study it and do some internet research to see if he could remove the door to look at the rollers. The house was built in 1978 and who knows how the sliding door ended up being put in. Randy was professional and conscientious. I would and will hire him for more work.

    Roberto and Alex appeared just shortly after the appointed time. I showed them my basement. They assessed my situation, told me what they thought were my best options and got to work repairing a broken step, identifying other problems and resolving them. I also asked Roberto to look at a couple of small issues in another place in the house and he managed to attend to them as well. They were very pleasant and accommodating and took care of everything I asked them to address.

    Installed bathroom exhaust fan but, lied to me and never vented it to the outside as I requested. I made it very clear that I wanted it vented to the outside when he was here to give me an estimate. I asked before he left was it vented to the outside and he said yes it is. I paid him and he left. Then I got to thinking how could he have vented it outside when he never asked me where the attic. I knew he needed to get in to the attic so he could vent it properly. I called him the next day and asked again if he made sure it was vented outside and not just going into the attic space. He assured me he vented outside. I had someone else inspect it and found out it was not vented outside but just blowing on a piece of dry wall( that he cout of to install it) and in to the attic. I called him and said I wanted my money back for the labor on this job. He said, well I did install it so he would not give me all my money back. Said he would look at the invoice when he got home and contact me. Well, I ever heard back from him! He just out right lied to me!! The ceiling fan he installed from day one has been very wobbly so he did not balance it! I would never hire him for anything!
