AGreg Spivey RemodelingWork began in early December 2019 and was substantially complete in May 2020. The punch list items were completed in July. We added on two new rooms - a guestroom/office in the basement and a Three-Season Room above it. We also had Spivey remodel the staircase and replace the fireplace trim – bringing a much-needed update to our home. (Our carpet & golden-oak staircase was replaced with dark-stained oak planks and painted white risers.) We love our two new living spaces and still stop to admire our beautiful staircase and fireplace. Joe Bailey’s designs were gorgeous, and we’re so glad we listened to his suggestions! The new rooms are well-constructed and attractively finished, and Tim Huber’s attention to detail was outstanding! The 3-season room is our new favorite room! We started eating dinner out there every night once it was complete, and it’s our go-to room for reading and relaxing. Because of the blocking Spivey put in the ceiling during construction, we can enjoy our hanging egg chairs without worrying about them crashing down. (Our cat also loves all the windows!) The new basement room was intended to be a guest bedroom, but my husband began using it as a home office (due to COVID) before the electrical work was even completed. Joe’s idea for a large daylight window in the basement made it a much more pleasant room to work in than any of our daylight-starved rooms in the existing basement! With a murphy bed, the new basement room still functions as a guestroom when needed. Tim H. is an incredibly talented carpenter, and we were so fortunate to have him on our project. Our walls aren’t plumb & square, and he carefully measured and cut to ensure the new stairs would fit. He coordinated his staircase work to ensure it would mesh well with the wainscoting we were installing ourselves in the stairway. He also went above & beyond to install the basement ceiling as high as possible so our murphy bed would fit. Tim H and Paul also let me know how many boards would be needed for the 3-season room ceiling, so I could paint them BEFORE they were installed in the peak. (I still had to touch up nail holes etc. but that was much better than having to paint all of it afterwards!) Everyone I worked with at Spivey (Joe, Tim H, Paul, Tim S) was polite and professional. It was a talented team, and I greatly appreciated their willingness to work with us to ensure we got the finished product we wanted. There were bumps in the project, but Tim S was committed to doing whatever was necessary to correct problems and ensure we were satisfied. I’d be happy to work with them again. Every person from CMH/their partner companies, was friendly, on-time and took great pride in their work. It gave me a great deal of confidence knowing the people entering my home each day were true "professionals" in every sense of the word. I also had the opportunity to interact with the owner of the company quite a bit during the project. It's clear to see that he deeply values customer feedback and holds his team to high standards. The communication from him and his team was top-notch throughout the entire basement remodel. I was as involved, or has hands-off, as I wanted to be with every step of the way - but I always knew what was going on each week/day. Ultimately, CMH was able to complete my basement remodel ahead of schedule and deliver a new space in my home that is exactly as I had envisioned. AAll Phase Group IncKathy and Dave are professional, honest and direct. The bid was fair and the work performed was outstanding. I had a partially finished basement and they discussed options and made appropriate suggestions, based on their expertise. My house was built in the 1930s and working through the demolition of the previous work (hung ceiling with plaster) was messy, etc. and they handled it all very well. Kathy kept me informed on the schedule weekly and worked with subcontractors (painter, plumber, electrician, flooring) smoothly. Dave's crew on the drywall/demolition/framing was excellent throughout. We ran into some old house issues in the basement (floor not level enough for exactly what I wanted to do on the floor, but found an option that was acceptable to me. Kathy was helpful with paint/carpet choices, which can be nervewracking. I'm very pleased with how things worked out.- Thomas H.

AAll Phase Group IncDave is a true professional carpenter and did a fantastic job designing, framing, installing cabinets and doors, and building shelves in the utility room. All-phase works with, schedules, and manages a stable of local experts who provide specific services. These included HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and countertops. All were able to complete tasks according to schedules despite working during a partial pandemic shutdown. One specific benefit was that when the cost of the desired sink top for the basement was high, they were able use the remainder for the upstairs master bath and install for a minimal cost. AI am more than pleased with the work performed by Augusta Underground. Their price for a sewer cleanout install (requiring small-scale excavation) was on par with the other companies I contacted (actually a bit less), but what impressed me was how thorough Steve was in providing detailed information about what would be required. He was the only one who assured me they could put the cleanout where we wanted it (hidden in mulch bed) as opposed to whatever was most convenient for the crew (in the case of the other companies). Even further, when the work was complete, I was shocked that not only did they perfectly level the earth around the excavation, but they even put back all the mulch and edging--I just assumed I'd be doing this cleanup after they were done. When they left, you could barely tell they'd even been there. Fantastic work, and I would highly recommend them! Reliable, knowledgeable, fair, honest company, small and locally owned. A+

DI wish I would have read these reviews before we hired Everdry. I could kick myself for not being more thorough! They started work on time and "finished" in a timely manner. However, they quality and pride in their work is sub par. They didn't leave things they way they found it - patio furniture scattered and deck completely muddy. There is an "extension cord" running from outside my house to under my house. The drains for the sump pump were exposed and in a location where water can flow back into the crawl space. What we were told we purchased doesn't seem to be what we got. There doesn't seem to be a manager or any type of quality control to make sure the job is done correctly. We were very disappointed.....to put it lightly.

ANOW my basement is DRY! I've lived with monsoon rains filling my basement with water for several yrs. I've purchased sump pumps and I've broom pushed water to the drain for the last time. I made a very good decision by hiring A-1 Indiana Water Proofing Company. The owner of the company Wayne is the one that came to my house to explain the specifics of what needed to be done. Never was he pushy or putting a time limit on selling me their product and work. I was very intrigued with the Xypex for the walls to keep water out. My experience with this company has been great. A couple of minor issues have been immediately addressed. The lead worker for the job at my house was very knowledgeable and helpful with any requests I had about my basement. I in fact wrote a note to the owner saying “My hope is you are paying Eric well. If not he needs a raise. He is a terrific young man and a great asset for your company". I had 3 different companies that came and gave me estimates but A-1 Indiana Water Proofing Company just felt genuine and right. KH

AI liked the entire operation, the way they do business at Advanced Restoration and Waterproofing. Moles are causing drainage and erosion issues and if eliminating them does not work I plan to hire Advanced. I did research on several other drainage companies that gave me estimates and they specialize in drainage They are bonded, and insured against damage to underground utility lines as well as workmen’s injury, etc. They also guarantee their work which many small scale operators don’t. Long story short, if you go, as I often have in the past, with a lower quote…… the final invoice is above the initial estimate (low balled), plus the re-do to get it right, and the risk of damage to an underground cable (cost) will more than offset (exceed) the initial quote from Advanced. The best only costs a ‘dime’ more. Very professional all around.
