AService Plus Heating Cooling PlumbingThey completed part of the job and came out at the end of the week to complete due to the fact we were waiting for information from our home warranty company. The young men were very courteous, knowledgeable, on time and very efficient. We will definitely use this company again.- Peter V.

AShankster BrosThey were extremely efficient. I called on a Monday and they came out on Tuesday and then were able to fix the problem within a half hour. They did an excellent job for me.- Steven T.

AShankster BrosThe float alarm went off for our septic tank on a Sunday. This alarm indicates that our septic system is no longer discharging and that the level in the tank is rising. Our local septic tank cleaner does not do repairs, but they indicated that since our pump has been going for over ten years, they suspected it was time to replace the pump. Early Monday morning I called Shankster Plumbing and was greeted by a pleasant and efficient lady. She told me what the potential problems might be and approximately how much those corrections would cost. The estimate was for replacing the pump was about $1000. I was told that Steve would call me later that morning to confirm what the problems might be and he did. A little bit after noon, he came to our home, asked appropriate questions, and had me turn off the circuit breaker controlling the septic tank. Steve then opened and checked our septic tank. He discovered that it was simply an issue of our floats becoming loose. He reattached the floats. This was obviously the easiest fix we could have imagined, and we appreciated his honesty. I was charged travel time and an hour's labor. Everything about Steve Shankster and his company was professional: polite, timely response, knowledgeable, honest, and fair. Would absolutely recommend this company.- ELIZABETH H.

AShankster BrosWe had an insane amount of rain one evening and noticed our yard by the septic was flooding. We had just moved in a few months beforehand and have never had a septic. So, we paniced! I called Shanksters that night around midnight once we started hearing strange gurglings from our sinks and toilets. The friendly operator assured me we would be fine until morning so we didn't have to pay extra for middle of the night emergency call. That was nice of her, we thought. They arrived frst thing in the morning. Deduced we needed a new pump. So they pumpeed out tank to avoid any overflowing while the pump wasn't running. They told us they had a bunch of calls due to the rain, so they went to town to get apump and on a couple of more calls (fine with us..). They came back that afternoon and replaced the pump. I paid them and left. They left me the brochure for the pump, I was looking it over, and looked it up online. It was about $100. Pumping the septic was $300. Something smelled fishy and I felt I had overpaid for their services. So, I called them and said as much. Also, stange gurugling was still happening. So, they came back out, and we found we had yet another septic tank. The guy apologised for the over pricing (I don't know if it was an accident or on purpose) and offered to pump our other tank out at no extra charge. I thought that sounded fair. I'm not against anybody making a profit, but that was just a bit much. I'm glad that I called and expressed my displeasure. They were all very nice. I would hire them again, but will definatly be aware of pricing next time!!- Amy H.

AShankster BrosThis was the first time I had the septic tank cleaned. I called for a price and date for service. They asked if it was an emergency situation. It was not and they were there next day within the time window stated. The service man asked what size tank it was and, to be honest, I wasn't sure but thought it was 1250 gallons. He asked how many people lived in the house, and after determining it was just my wife and me, he charged for a 1000 gallon tank. I inquired as to the use of septic maintenance products. He said he really could not tell any difference between those treated and those that were not. He said the best thing to do was routine cleaning every 2-3 years. All in all, tis company was professional, prompt, and punctual. I will use them again and would recommend them to anyone in the area.- Rahrer D.

ADuHadway CorpFollowing the large amount of rain we received this past Spring, my husband and I made the gruesome discovery that the previous owner of our home tried to patch some large cracks in the wall and hide his handiwork by covering 3/4 of the basement walls. After talking with a few different contractors, we chose DuHadway to make the repairs. Much to our delight, the project started rather quickly and completed well within the timeframe quoted. * Bucket after bucket of concrete chunks hauled to the dumpster. * New tile and stone laid, and concrete poured. * Installation of two sump pump systems, with drywell buried out to our pond. * Waterproofing and recovering of the walls. * Reconfiguration of the basement layout, including demolition of some interior walls, and construction of others. * Updated wiring, light fixtures, outlets and switches. * Spanish lace finish to the walls and ceiling. * Fresh, new paint and trim. Workers were all very polite and respectful of our space/property. The project was planned in such a way that we were never without water or the use of our washer and dryer. The only inconvenience was being without the water softener for a week or so. Although DuHadway was not the lowest bidder (and yet not the highest either), we believe the turnkey work performed was well worth the investment in our home.- Michelle W.

AThe Golden RuleArrived as promised. Price was reasonable. Did a good job. I would recommend this organization. This is the second time I have used this organization.- Jonathan C.

AThe Golden RuleThe owner had informed us of the extra cost of an after hours service, but under the circumstances it was not an unreasonable charge. When he arrived, it turned out the location of the septic access was not where I was told when buying the house, but the owner was able to quickly find the tank and dig out the access panel. The service was performed with professionally and great patience as I used this opportunity to learn more about what I should know about septic systems (being a former city dweller). There were no extra or surprise charges for the service, everything was as verbally quoted. While he was there, he cleared the pipe between the house and septic tank which actually saved me money (sorry Roto-Rooter) and I won't hesitate to call Golden Rule again in the future.- Michael B.

AThe Golden RuleThe owner had serviced us two years ago and estimated that we'd need to get on a two-year schedule. After the recent heavy rains, the drains started making noises and a quick check of Angie's List revealed that my two years was nearly up. I scheduled the appointment and they came out and serviced my system as smoothly as their first visit. Thanks guys!- Michael B.

FDelta Van Lines was a terrible experience. They are brokers and don't let them tell you differently. My sales person, Natalie, was quite nice until I started having problems. Then she would not return my calls. She promised me that they used their own trucks and drivers ( except upon rare occasion ) . Not true. My pick up was "Big Boy Moving." Four guys in which one was on the phone the entire time, one was skyping in the bedroom with the doors closed and the other two were working. The head guy immediately told me there would be an extra $300 for a long haul and $150 for a bulk shipment. I had told Natalie the elevator was right there next to the loading dock at my apartment. She said no problem, no long haul charge. The bulk charge, I never did understand and they really couldn't explain it . When I called Natalie while this guy was trying to collect this money, she said and I quote "Well I will never use them again.". She said she would call me back and that's the last I heard from her. I was stuck. I ended up calling Big Boy Movers and they had no answers either. Before the movers were done, they came right out and asked me for a tip. Of course I gave it to them, they had my stuff. But they literally asked me. This was the most unprofessional experience I have had moving. I have written an email to the manager Joshban Molina who has never responded. Natalie stopped communicating the minute she had my money. The only good thing that happened was that they were on time. I do not recommend this company at all. Besides the rudeness of the actual movers, there was no support from the company I had hired, Delta Van Lines. They could have cared less.

The gentleman (who's name is Steve Niles) who came to our assistance was courteous, helpful, and informative, all while being as quick as he possibly could with the job. He ended up helping us resolve our problem in a quick and efficient manner. I will totally recommend and use this service again. Thank you!

Fcalled Freedom to look at my A/C, they spent all of 5 minutes, didn't take anything apart, then started suggesting that they told the prior owner the A/C needed replaced. [The home was built in 2008.] Then said they could re-charge the freon, at $99 / pound and as the system was low (20%), that it was leaking and they could try an additive to the freon which may fix a leak from the inside, but it was 50/50 on the success. They then suggested that a search for the source of the leak would cost $800-$900 plus whatever repair was needed, if repairable at all. I asked for all options, so they next called in another rep, a sales man, who promptly told me my furnace was on recall, and said he would take it apart and see if it was faulty. Said it wasn't after taking the unit apart.
nNext thing I know, the salesman was trying to sell me a $12,500 new furnace and new A/C system. Said that most homeowners changed their furnace and air condition out together, to keep them the same age. Did I mention the house was built in 2008? Did I say the furnace wasn't working (if has worked fine) Did I mention that the salesman said that IF the furnace was faulty, the manufacturer would substantially pay for replacement? Then why a new one?
I called a 2nd opinion in the following Monday. The Home Depot service contractor. He immediately noticed that the gas line to my furnace had been diss-connected. Fortunately the valve shut off . . . but what if a child had pulled the valve handle and then a spark . . . After reconnecting, we discovered that the thermostat wasn't working, and after investigating, found that the a fuse within the furnace was blown (it wasn't before Freedom showed up, and who knows, did they blow it on purpose?).
The Home Depot service rep re-connected the gas line, put in a new fuse. Then added in the 3#'s of freon at $80 / pound (did I mention Freedom wanted $99 / pound?). We tested and found cool air working. True, it could have a catastrophic leak, but I'll know shortly. but if the system lost 3#'s over 7 years, it seem logical to assume it is a minor leak, and that isn't call for replacement of the entire unit.
I think Freedom tried to high pressure sales me into a new system, and then sabotaged the current one, in hopes I'd call them back in when I found nothing worked.
I wouldn't use them to change a light bulb!

AIt was reasonable. I thought it was going to be more than what it was. It was incredible because they had to keep pounding the cast iron to break it. When they did, feces was flying all over the world. I felt so bad because I thought I was going to clean that but the guys said they'll take care of their mess. They had it all perfectly clean. They had me check to make sure it was clean enough. The quality was excellent. They were here faster than I was ready for them.
