FDennis Hughes is NOT a licensed contractor in Allen County. We could never get him to show proof of insurance or bonding. I hope that this review will prevent someone from hiring this company. We hired him to redo a patio roof. The flashing around the utilities pipe was improperly done. The roofing was installed backwards and lacked the proper amount of nails. It was not connected to the house properly. The gutter was installed so that it was useless and prevented windows from opening. We tried to get him to correct the work but he always had some excuse for not doing the work. He was rude and combative and refused to bring his paperwork to prove he was licensed and insured. He yelled at me and my brother as we tried to help my mother resolve this issue. We finally had to hire someone else to completely redo it. I wish that the address for this work would not be revealed to Dennis.

FI will make this very short as I plan to post to as many sites as possible, I honestly just want to save someone the headache I have had. We purchased the Whole Home Warranty last year (2017), over 6 weeks ago I made a claim for our kitchen range. April 24th a Sears Technician came, concluded it needed replaced, due to this Sears requires a 2nd opinion. Within 10 days (finally) a 2nd service person showed up and concluded the same, range needed replaced, this was over 6 weeks ago and we still have no range. I called numerous times, literally 2-3 times a week and got the same response every time, "it's in research". Finally I was transferred to "case management", this person apologized and said it NEVER made it to research. they requested pictures of the range, I sent those pictures on June 1st and was told this morning there is still no answer nor an update. April 24th I had a technician here and it is now June 11th, I have no results nor have I received any of my money back. They will take your money and not provide the service you pay for. Please do not pay for this!

CPoor communication. Promises made and not kept regarding time of service. Estimates not given (one given when initially dropped off but I asked for an estimate when they actually started working on it so I would know. And, no estimate on the second time they had to work on it on a part that was working before I took it in.) When the mower was finally serviced and I got it home, the power lever did not stay in place and I had to mow one hand on the lever and one hand steering the mower. This lever had worked right before the service. I stopped in (preferred way to communicate with them) and I asked if there was a way that I could disassemble the part, thinking that they may have looked at it and not put it back at the right adjustment (and not wanting to, for the 3rd time, have them monopolize my mower). They insisted on picking it up. When he picked it up I said it worked before I took the mower in and I also pointed out that it looked like something was broken inside. He said he would have the mechanic look at it. I expected a call of some sort regarding his findings. With the prior service record, I did not expect my mower back the same day, especially after hours. He showed up with the mower, said the part was replaced with a used part and handed me an invoice!!!
The only reason I let them look at it at this point was because I felt they were responsible for fixing it since it worked before I had the mower serviced. In the meantime, I had learned of another mower repairman and I would have taken it to him if I had known he was going to charge me for fixing it. I never authorized them to fix it for a price - he said he would have the mechanic look at it.
Upon examining the bill, the labor price didn't even match the labor rate on my first service bill so it was hard to figure out how they got that number. The lever is not as easy to lock, but it works.
Suggestions for potential customers: put things in writing and have them put things in writing.

ACrescent Avenue GardensI was certainly impressed with their knowledge on different models. They could tell me where their service issues have been on some of the models over the years. They have been in business for a lot of years. Their prices were better than most of the others in town. It was a high-end model. It had the features I wanted for the dollars that I wanted and they gave me the price, they didn't even want to trade it. They were above average. It was a good experience. I would definitely go back and buy from them again. I was turned on to them by someone else that doesn't deal in the mower sales but just repairs them. It was an interesting recommendation.- David S.

ASeasonal Mower Service ShopI was a little apprehensive about having some guy who doesn't list his address pick up my mower and take it away, but after talking with him a bit, I could understand why he wasn't eager to publicize his address. (Apparently he had done so in the past, and people were stopping by at all hours of the day and night, and at times when he wasn't home. He lives out in the country somewhere, and I think he even has another job). I have to say that he did great work, and my lawn mower worked exceptionally well this summer. I knew that my lawn mower hadn't been serviced in years, but was absolutely dreading the process of stuffing it in my car somehow (I'm not good with heavy lifting, and didn't want my car to reek of gas for weeks) to take it in and bring it back. Besides, I had been quoted $75 or more elsewhere for a seasonal tune-up. So I decided to give Seasonal Mower Service Shop a shot, and it was exceptional. I will use them again next year too.- RENEE W.

AMUTTON POWER EQUIPMENTI brought the mower in and was greeted right away. I explained what I wanted done and told them I was in no rush to get it back. They took my contact information and said they would call when it was done. About two weeks later they called and said it was complete other than fixing the self propel. They said to fix that would not be in my best interest since it was quite expensive and the mower was old. I was surprised that they just did not fix it anyway. I had told them to fix it, they could have if the wanted to. I really appreciated the fact that they did not take advantage of me!- DAVE M.
