Drywall reviews in Bremen

I hired them in October 2007 to remodel a bathroom. We had already stripped the room down to the studs. They promised to complete the job in 2 weeks. Their start date came and went. They showed up 2 weeks later and worked for a couple of hours. This went on for several weeks. By early December, they had installed the tub. It slanted toward the front by about 15 degrees, so that when you stand in it, it feels like you will fall over. Their tile installer showed up drunk. When I called them to ask to take him off the job, they said he works for a flooring company & I should call them. This I did right away. The boss' only reply was "Bob doesn't drink". I called Early Construction back and again asked them to take him off the job. They said it was between me & the flooring co. I didn't even know they had hired them to do the tiling. Nothing in the paperwork said anyone else would be doing the work. The drunk installer did a horrible job, including driving nails into the cement backer board to hold the tiles in place. The tiles were very uneven and not level. When I complained to Early, he came out to look at the job and agreed that the tile work was very bad. He tore out the back wall of tile and backer board and installed new backer board. In the process of doing this, his workers put a crack & two large chips in the new tub. He refused to replace the tub. He had the flooring co come & re-tile the back wall. It is slightly better than before. They had the same drunken installer come & do the work. I asked Early to have another company come & redo the terrible tile job. He refused. I asked him to replace the damaged tub. He refused. I fired him. I now had drywall with nails already popping out, horribly installed tile, so uneven the toilet rocks, no sink, no mirror, no towel bars, ceiling paint splattered on the walls, wall paint on the ceiling, ceiling paint on part of the tiles, no register cover, no baseboards, no door knob etc. For this, I had paid over $8,000 of $13,000. We hired a lawyer. He suggested we hire a professional home inspector to do a report on the bath. It agreed with us that the work was very bad. After 4 months, he excused himself from our case as he has a friend who is a partner in Early Const. We had to hire an electrician to come in and redo the wiring so it would work. I hired a plumber to come in and fix the toilet, and install the sink which I had to purchase separately. I hired someone from the tub manufacturer to repair the tub. He told me it was installed wrong and shouldn't be tipping. My husband and I spent several days repairing, priming, and painting the drywall. We had to purchase and install baseboards. Now, two days before Thanksgiving 2008, we received notice that we are being sued and a mechanics lien is being put on our home by the flooring co., because they were never paid by Early Construction. Of course, they did not sue Early, as they do many projects together. They are asking for about $5000.00.
