    Bean Blossom Animal Clinic
Horrible! Do NOT go to this vet! I just had the worst experience I've ever had with a vet in my entire life. The vet was Dr. Finney. They turned me away and told me to leave all because I made a comment to the vet tech, Sarah, that I didn't like that the vet had been staring my cat down. He got in there and spent about 4 or 5 minutes straight just staring my cat down and telling her how grumpy she is and to stop being so grumpy. He was a total ******* and had no empathy for how terrified my cat was whatsoever. They were informed beforehand that my cat is extremely aggressive at the vet and I had brought her to this same clinic 2 years ago and they had no issues giving her her shots then. He informed me that he does this because most cats calm down if he just sits there and stares them down. Well, I knew my cat would get more and more upset the longer we were in there because she freaks out and will attack people who even visit our house. She's super loving and the best friend in the world to me but doesn't like anyone but me. Then he says some cats feel less "empowered" if their caretaker leaves the room. I said "I'm not going anywhere." I know my cat and she does NOT do better when I'm not around. She gets even more aggressive. Plus, I would never leave my cat alone with two strangers. I've never had another vet in my life ask me to leave the room and we've seen 7 vets over the years. The vet had ZERO bedside manner and was arrogant and rude. He didn't even introduce himself to me when he walked in. He then left the room and this Sarah person came back in with gloves and blankets. I mentioned to her that I didn't like that the vet was staring my cat down. That is literally all I said and then she became very rude to me. I then asked if there was someone else who could help me because she was being rude and I had no idea why. I had done nothing wrong except express that I didn't like the vet's technique with my cat and found he was prolonging her stress and the traumatic experience for her. She told me she could try to find someone else but that she "had the most experience." Really? Because you guys took, like, 20 minutes deliberating on what to do and then came back with blankets and gloves, which is exactly what I told you they did last time with no issues. I could have given my cat the shot myself and been out of there already by then. She then said she would grab the office manager and left for the second time After several more minutes passed of my cat being in **** and me also being anxious as **** because she was so scared, the vet and this stuck-up rude vet tech come back into the room and tell me I should leave! I was shocked! The vet said "Since you don't seem open to wanting to try any of our ideas, we think it's best if you go somewhere else." The only idea of theirs I wasn't open to was when he asked me to leave her alone in the room with them! I then begged them to please give her her rabies shot, so that I didn't have to put my cat through another traumatic experience of going to another vet, but they just told me to leave and then the vet went on about how he has 24 years of experience, blah blah. Sounded like his ego was hurt so he took it out on me and my cat. My 9-year-old cat is the love of my life and I was already super stressed about bringing her to the vet because she gets terrified and aggressive. I hate putting her through that trauma and stress. This is the ONLY vet in Brown Co., which is a shame because they are so nasty. It was either go here and have a 10-minute drive or drive to Bloomington or Columbus and make my cat endure a 30-minute drive. Their office staff, including office manager, vet tech (Sarah) and whoever answers their phones are also rude. Every time I have ever called, the people on the phone were super rude and short with me. This place only takes appointments once or twice a week and - they expect your pets to wait for hours with walk-in only -- they do NOT care about animals at all! I've never been treated like such dirt before and I did absolutely nothing wrong.

    DOGGIE STYLES
This was the second time Bethany English groomed our wire hair fox terrier, Jilly Bean. I used to groom my former dogs myself (very unprofessionally), but not this dog. Although Jilly is well behaved, playful, affectionate, and cuddly, she is also extremely nervous about life in general (car rides, thunder, rain on skylights, being touched unexpectedly, and being brushed) — and she nips when you least expect it. Jilly nipped at Bethany the first time she was groomed, so before this second visit, I discussed the above with Bethany, and also that our dog likes other dogs, but is afraid of large or aggressive dogs. This info was important because dogs are allowed to play with each other at the salon when they are between grooming activities. Bethany loves dogs and wants them to have a lovely time at Doggie Styles, so she recommended that I bring Jilly in on a day when other dogs are not present. I also sedated Jilly Bean before taking her in. Afterwards Bethany laughingly told me about how things had gone, including a story of how Jilly kept grabbing up little doggie toys as they walked from one grooming area to the next, with one toy falling out of Jilly's mouth as she grabbed the next. (Yes, that's my dog!). When I picked the dog up, Bethany spent 10 or 15 minutes chatting with me about Jilly's experience at the spa and her nervousness/nippiness, which Bethany attributes to a generalized fearfulness and not to pain at being touched or groomed. Bethany gave me some information to pass along to Jilly's vet for consideration, and she told me about a humane "basket muzzle," available at Petco, which would allow us to bathe and brush our dog safely. (Brushing is necessary, not just cosmetic.)

    VICKY'S PET BOUTIQUE
He was laying down sleeping when I came to get him. They called me as soon as he was ready to pick up, which was earlier than previoously stated. They gave a "report card" on how he did with the bathing/grooming process.

    Express Grooming
We love using Kelly at Express Grooming!  She is always punctual with pickup/dropoff or calls if she is running behind.  Our dogs always seem happy when they get home!  It is also really convenient for us that she picks them up before we go to work and drops them off after we get home from work.  She has always done a great job with cutting their hair the way we request.  One of our dogs is a little bitey and thankfully she still takes him and he seems to be getting better at the whole routine.

    HOWL 'N DOG INN
I had to leave my dogs for the longest time ever and it went fine. As a nervous dog-mom, Karen and Tony were nice enough to answer my emails and let me know that the pups were fine when I was worried.

    The Continental
I cannot recommend this dog groomer too highly. I had a badly matted poodle mix, whom I had taken to another groomer about two months previously. That groomer had returned my dog to me with many of the mats around her face and ears still intact, claiming that my dog was too difficult to handle and showing me scratches on her arms to prove it. In contrast, the groomer at the Continental, who was named Rebecca, had no trouble grooming my dog, although I had warned her to be careful. She said that all it took was someone who was slow and gentle. My dog came back to me calm, clean, happy and impeccably well groomed. Rebecca was even able to get inside my dog's ears to clip the hair there, which was badly needed but had been hard for even a vet to do because my dog is sensitive around her ears because of previous ear infections. Rebecca gave me a time estimate of three hours, but called two hours later to say the dog was ready. The grooming salon was even able to work us in right away when I called. Really, this is a top-notch place with a very kind, sensitive, responsive and gentle staff.

    GROOMING BY LORI
SCHNAUZER GROOMING CAN BE TRICKY AND AFTER A RATHER BAD EXPERIENCE WITH A GROOMER WORKING OUT OF MY VET'S OFFICE, I TURNED TO ANGIE'S LIST TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE. I CALLED LORI AND SHE RETURNED MY CALL PROMPTLY. JAKE HAS HAD 2 GROOMINGS WITH LORI. SHE IS PROFESSIONAL, ON-TIME, KIND AND DOES A FABULOUS JOB. THE FACT SHE TAKES ONLY A FEW CLIENTS A DAY IS A REAL PLUS IN THE QUALITY OF HER GROOMING AND THE TIME SHE TAKES WITH JAKE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER. SHE DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB.
