Irrigation System reviews in Bloomington

We were told they would be here within the next two weeks.  After the 2 weeks had pasted by a few days, I called to ask when they might be here. I was told, "Oh, we don't intend to come out to your place." I was surprised and said that were never told that! She said, "Well, we are not going to do your place." Needless to say, I was absolutely stunned. It is now 6/17/14 and we have yet to have the system turned on because we ended so far down on the list of the next company I called to assist after this happened. But I am confident I can depend this company

We first encountered Dan Gluesencamp and his colleagues at Designscape 15 years ago, when after trying several landscapers (and trying our own hands at gardening!), we reached out to them to create a few beds for us.

They were so skilful and easy to work with?they could understand our often vague objectives and turn them into beautiful reality?that we began to use them for more and more services, including caring for our lawn and beds, maintaining our irrigation system, installing lighting around our trees, even snow removal in the winter. They built a natural-looking waterfall in our back yard.

When we bought the adjacent lot, DesignScape worked with us to develop a plan for integrating it into a small, but much more developed existing yard. They regraded the lot and installed underground drainage to deal with a longstanding water problem. They built a beautiful handcrafted low stone wall and then installed well-chosen trees, bushes, and grasses, wisely cautioning us about over planting.

Although Dan and his crew are prize-winning gardeners, landscapers, and arborists, their skills are much broader. They built and maintain a wood fence for us around the property. When we decided we wanted a pergola to provide some shelter from the summer sun, they created a beautiful space with interlocking pavers and oversaw construction of the structure and installation of lighting and a fan. We were so pleased with that work that we later asked them to replace the driveway and all of the cracked cement sidewalks around our home with more natural-looking and beautiful pavers.

When a storm brought down a 150-year-old hickory tree across our house (while we were fortunately out of town), Dan was the first person on the spot, he contacted us, assessed the damage, dealt with our insurance company, and by the time we could return to Bloomington that night, our roof was covered with a tarp, the lawn was swarming with his crew, and trucks were lined up as far as the eye could see to receive pieces of this one-mighty tree.

Two additional notes to this story bear highlighting. First, Dan wastes nothing, and with our permission, arranged for a local sculptor to have the usable sections of the trunk of the tree for his work. Second, early the next morning I was sending an email recounting the prior day?s events and recounting how Dan and his crew had literally saved our home. I added a facetious line that the only thing they hadn?t taken care of was the sea of bark and leaves and sawdust covering our yard, when I looked up and saw half a dozen of his crew raking our lawn. By the next day, he had removed the stump as well.

We worked with Dan over the next two years to figure out something to take the place of the massive tree. We knew we couldn't install a tree of the same size, so Dan crafted a plan to plant a ring of smaller trees and install an amazing fountain that would collect the water from our roof and sidewalks and provide a stunning, environmentally friendly centerpiece for our newly leveled front yard?something we had long wanted to accomplish. Knowing of our love of animals and especially elephants, Dan even arranged for an elephant topiary to be part of the new installation, something that has brought much delight not only to us, but the neighborhood as well.

There are many qualities one might look for in a local business?professional skill, staying up-to-date with new developments, punctuality, sense of pride and responsibility, good value?and Designscape has all of these, but they have something more: they are good listeners, they care about their customers and treat their staff as family, they are scrupulously honest, they are careful and often advise caution even when doing so costs them money, and they are far more interested in long-term relationships than in short-term profits.

Over the years, we have recommended Dan to many friends for projects large and small, and never once has he disappointed. In fact, we might add that we were prompted to post this review today when, after five inches of snow last night, we woke up early this Saturday morning to find the walks shoveled. Who could ask for more?

Jason and his crew are fabulous.  They are punctual, professional, honest, and fair. They did a LOT of work during the summer of 2013 -- entire front and back yard landscaped, window boxes hung and planted, whiskey barrels planted, irrigation installed (we even have irrigation in the barrels and window boxes), decks stained, lawn mowed weekly, etc.  We spent several thousand dollars, but Jason kept us aware of costs, and we are extremely pleased with the results.  Perhaps the greatest thing about Nagas is Jason and the crew's enthusiasm and pride in the work.  Highly recommended.

Jason and Lori were wonderful to work with. Their ideas and suggestions created perfect surroundings for our home. They were so easy to work with, their team was fast and professional, and the cost was very reasonable. We would not hesitate to hire them for future projects.

The sprinkler system was installed and functions correctly.  However, during the installation process there were white plastic pvc pipes placed 18-24" above the ground directly in front of our picture window and house.  They were placed without asking and made the front of our house look terrible.  We did say something before our HOA stepped in and it was corrected and moved to the side of the house out of street sight.  Our quote also included the removal of a small bush and some surrounding stumps/roots.  It was not completed with the initial work and it took several reminders before they completed the work the following spring, when they de-winterized our sprinklers.  Our sod area was small but it took several requests to level the area before the sod, which was what we had been quoted.  Overall, we eventually got everything done but will not be using this company in the future, including the twice yearly maintenance of the sprinkler system.

It went extremely well. The project was finished ahead of schedule and under budget. I know that is a fairly brief description but honestly there were just not any real problems. The whole thing was a terrific experience.

I contacted the company by telephone in early April to setup spring turn on. They said they would call back later that day. Never heard back. Given the excellent reviews here, thought I would give them another try. Called on May 23. Tiffany said I need to sign a contract with them before they schedule the service and sent me the contract by email. She said she would call me as soon as I sent the contract back. I told her I would have it back to her right away. I returned the signed contract by email within minutes requesting a call back to setup the turn on. Never heard from them again.

I have used McClarens for many years.  They open and close my irrigation system.  If I experience a problem with my system, they come out, find it and repair it.  I have also had them think out additions to my system..... I recently got rid of my drip system and went to short sprayers in my many flower beds.  I have been very pleased with all of the work performed.

Jason McCord and his crew did a great job of turning a fairly unattractive portion of our building and gave it some some great curb appeal.  We were very happy with the work and timely cost effective installation.  Nagas stood by their work and even replaced a few plantings without having to be asked.  They did a great job of watering the plants after installation and during the hot summer months.  It now looks like its been there forever.

Nagas Landscaping has made a huge impact around here.  We use them exclusively now for each service they provide, and if you could see our dog and four cats with owners and operators Jason and Lori, it would be obvious that they?d get a very enthusiastic endorsement for their care and companionship. During our last trip, they noticed that one of the cats had a problem and isolated each one with a litter box to single him out and have the veterinarian see him.  They administered the meds - twice a day - and the guy was all better before we had cause to worry during our vacation.  Furthermore, the furnace went out while we were gone, and they oversaw our contractor coming in for repair.

Two years ago, after a storm took out seven of a stand of trees along the drive, Nagas Landscaping came to clear out the huge mess.  We hadn?t lived here very long, and there was a lot of potential outdoors.  Not only did our gardens take beautiful shape that summer within a few weeks during a terrible heat wave, but Jason added and maintained an extensive irrigation system and was so diligent, often hand watering the new trees, shrubs, and perennials, that all survived and thrived.

Jason has a long nursery and landscaping background, an extensive knowledge of trees and shrubs, and a love of them to go with it all.  He also has an artistic eye for creating aesthetic gardens, planters and baskets.  Lori also has experience running a landscaping business, and like Jason, her strengths include a great eye for plantings and excellent customer service.  What also sets them apart, they really welcome client input; they want the customer to be happy.  Between the ongoing excellent collaboration on projects inside and out at our two homes and other properties, caring maintenance, and great peace of mind when we?re away, Nagas Landscaping has become indispensable.  And we have been told by everyone that we have one of the most beautiful yards.
