    CNC Construction and Remodeling
I couldn't be happier with CNC Construction & Remodeling. The work quality is top-notch and the prices are very fair. No worries about being taken advantage of or short-changed. We've hired CNC for three jobs now and will continue to do so. Responsible, responsive, and ethical contractors/builders are a rare breed; this is one. Highly recommended.

    No Hassle Construction
I have attached the email that sent to the No Hassle -
When Price Electric came to install the lights, we discussed
prior day that total 3 lights in the kitchen and 2 lights in the mechanic
room.  You are agree they should be fine,
but Price Electric told us it should be 5 lights in the kitchen.  I just want to move forward of the project
and don?t want to make a big deal.  You
are a professional general contractor, we pay you because of your knowledge to
watch out for us.  You should know 3
lights or 5 lights are required.  I asked
you ?Are there any more surprises that will impact our budget, during the NHC
final stage??.  Your answer is ? I DON?T
to me. (#3)  Why are we paying big
money for an expert, the answer is ?I DON?T KNOW?.

On 4-Nov, the sub-contractors scheduled to be on site for
drywall.  They didn?t show up.  Yes, I saw NHC lead show up at 3pm for
opening the door for the drywall sub-contractors.  I guess he charges his hour to us, even there
is zero work has been done for drywall.
Because I had stopped by at 4pm, NHC lead left already from the store.  We had conference-call with you at 9pm
to discuss the reason why sub-contractor didn?t start performing the
drywall.  We were astonished by your impatiently
and rudely behavior - you told us that you had NO-CONTROL of sub-contractor.  I deeply doubt - WHAT?S YOUR ROLE ON THIS
We have requested you to provide us the estimated
hour/resource for the remaining works (how many hours to complete each item,
how many resources per item).  YOU
(#5).  This guiding us to believe that you will
charge us, without the solid tracking records.
We are talking about ? drywall, floors and baseboard.  Since, you refused to provide the estimates
to us, it?s also leading us to believe that there are more of items that you
    are not aware.
From all above (#1 to #5), we need to re-evaluate the
    working relationship between us.

    Blue Ribbon Mini Barns LLC
Blue Ribbon was quickly responsive, worked around my schedule, met the unique needs of my particular yard, and quickly and effectively built a very nice looking and high-quality mini barn.  I have no complaints at all.  I recommend highly.

We bought a shed from this dealer on Tuesday because they had it on the lot and could deliver it Friday. We needed it fast. I was told on the phone it had a green roof. I even wrote down that it had a green roof. When I arrived to look at it and make the down payment, it had a red roof. So ok, I can deal with that. We paid for it and completed all paperwork. It was to be delivered on Friday between 11am and 1pm. At 9:30am on Friday I received a call saying they could not deliver til Monday. So ok, screwed up my plans, but ok. So today, 3 days late, they delivered and set up a shed. An hour after they left I realized we got ripped. We got a 10' X 16' shed! We paid for a 12' X 16' shed!  I wouldn't have thought to measure to make sure it was the right one. But while sweeping out a bunch of broken glass that had mysteriously appeared since we bought the shed last week, I noticed the floor was only 2 1/2 sheets of plywood from front to back. I know plywood is 4'X8', so this didn't add up. I grabbed my tape measure and sure enough...they had brought us a smaller shed. I called to inform them of the problem. They guy said he would check into it and call me back. He called me back and made excuses for their "honest mistake". I'm not so sure it was honest. Maybe they do this on a regular basis. Maybe some people won't notice. He said they would come get the smaller shed and bring the right one later today. I asked if they could throw in an 8ft ramp for all the trouble. He flat refused! This is no way to treat a customer who has had so much trouble with your company. Word of mouth is the best advertising. Only recommendation I have is to stay away from this company! I'm still waiting for someone to come get this shed. I doubt my 12x16 will be delivered today. This has taken up my entire day and I probably still won't have a shed at the end of the day.

UPDATE: They did finally come get the small shed that day. And they brought the one I paid for. The next day the boss from Matavuli Yard Barns called and wanted to go ahead and send me the ramp for all my trouble. He said a dispatcher would call me to set up delivery. I waited and waited. I finally called them back several days later. A different person answered the phone. She said they a dispatcher would call me back later that day but if nobody called, I was to call back in the morning. Nobody called. I called back the next day. A different person answered. He said dispatch would call......same story over and over. Never did get a call from any dispatcher. Never did get a ramp. These people are a mess. I'll never deal with them again. If I ever decide to buy a ramp, it will be from someone else!

    CastleRock Companies Inc
The cost was okay but the estimate wasn't very thorough. The estimate omitted several critical things so we thought it was too low. He forgot to put some things that needed to be done on there. We figured once he was done, it was going to cost a lot more because he omitted those things.

    Stumpner's Building Service
I needed this company to construct a garage addition for my home. I'd have to rate this company very highly. They do all sorts of work to make the work energy efficient. They have top notch quality, no skimping or cutting corners. This was a big job, but it cam out perfectly. Very good promptness and professionalism. If I need anything else built, I'll definitely be using them again!

    KERNS construction
My daughter needed a new bedroom. There were two small rooms in our basement that we wanted to turn into one large bedroom with a walk-in closet. I had a contractor come and look at the basement during the spring of 2010. He quoted a price that was way out of our budget. Near the end of the summer of 2010 I looked on Angie's list and found JOHN KERNS from KERNS CONSTRUCTION. I called John and he easily found time in his schedule to come look at our basement - the next day in fact. I offered John the basement as sort of a blank canvas. We had some ideas in mind but we wanted to make sure we got the advice from an expert that is experienced in this type of work. I expressed concerns with the room being in the basement and moisture. John had no reservations with the project and understood exactly what we had in mind and our concerns with a basement bedroom. The NEXT day he called me with an estimate that was nearly half of what was quoted to us earlier in the year. John also said that he could start early in the next week. The room is now completed and it's EXACTLY what we wanted. They gutted out the two rooms removing walls, framing, drywall, carpet, and the ceiling. They sealed the concrete walls with water tight paint, installed all new frame work, hung dry wall, installed a new tile floor, and put all new doors in. I told John that I wanted the decisions that needed to be made to be limited. I made simple decisions like paint and tile color - but other than that - I put the project in his hands.....and I couldn't be happier. The project took about three weeks, which is exactly how long John said it would take. They were very punctual, and after my first meeting with John, I had no reservations giving him a key to my house. I have three animals in the house (two dogs and a cat). I offered to take them somewhere so that they would stay out of their way but John insisted they wouldn't be a problem and would make a special effort to keep our gates shut so they wouldn't escape. The room is beautiful and John and his partner couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with and I look forward to working with him again in the future.

    KERNS construction
We needed to remodel the garage of our 'new' house into living space before we could move in. I have some building background and had an idea how it might be laid out but nothing more. John listened to our ideas and made some marks on the floor and wall to show how it would lay out. From that meeting to the finished project was amazing. He gave us a very reasonable quote, worked with us on the various items like lights, cabinets, fans etc. so we could find just what we were looking for. As the project progressed, more than once John recommended changes yet did not run up the cost. John is extremely easy to work with and both he and his helper take great pride in their work. He even made sure our cats, who moved in before us, had food and water before he left each day. It was a joy to go out there daily and see what he had done that day. We plan on having more work done in a couple of years and want to work with Kerns Construction again. Their integrity and quality, the ease of working with them and their reasonable cost sealed the deal for us. You won't go wrong using them for your next project.

    KERNS construction
Johns Kerns gave us an estimate that was about 30% under the other 2 estimates. Having been burned before by contractors I was skeptical until I went and looked at his work on another similar project. On it, I could see that he was one to dot the i's and cross the t's. From the beginning at was a delight to have him around. he and his helper worked long hours some days, and Saturdays when it really mattered. The quality of his work was far above that which I have seen with most other builders. John uses "think ahead" planning, and often consulted with me about changes which might save money or work better. He added on many little changes and additional things that were not originally figured in, and usually with out additional charge. A couple of times, he made a large change and charged me for cost of material only. A good example of this man's integrity is below... Long after John had received his last payment he called me and said he wanted to come by and re-paint a door, that he said wasn't done quite as well as he wanted it to be. We hadn't noticed it at all, however he knew and wanted it to reflect well upon him for some years hence. At the same time he repainted the door, he also took the time to water all the yard areas which had to be smoothed and reseeded due to the concrete mixer trucks getting stuck and seriously digging up 100 feet of the yard. Then I found out that he's been by several times before that during the middle of the day to water the seeded area, as he wanted to make sure the grass took hold and the lawn was restored to be as it had been before the construction. All in all, he's a prince of a guy, always cheerful, even when bone tired. He's a religious man, though he doesn't talk about it or force it upon anybody. I admired his work ethic in that he's one of the few people in construction that I've met that "Walks the Talk" in-so-far as his personal religion and beliefs go. My wife and I wouldn't think of calling a different person when we have another project to do. And at the moment, I am going to call him to schedule his time for expanding a patio which he just built for us in the last project. I welcome calls to ask about his work or to show the work he performed on our home. Contact through
