Auto Service reviews in Bloomington

Tony Kinzer was on the list of approved body shops for the insurance company that covered the person who struck my car while it was legally parked in a lot. Since the shop had good reviews, I took it there. Got an immediate free estimate that was transmitted directly to the insurance agent. It was quickly approved and the repair was scheduled for a week later. Work was done professionally and completed when promised. Can't speak much to price as insurance took care of it directly, but the estimate was a little lower than an estimate I had obtained myself. Thanks for an almost pain-free experience.

Friendly staff, answered all my questions. Gave accurate estimate for cost and time. Accommodated our work schedule for pickup. Great experience. Worked with our insurance, prompt service. Would use again.

It was excellent. I called and Ismail answered and when I told him about what needs to be done, he recommended two towing companies and the first one arrived within an hour and half and towed the car to the shop. Immediately the car was inspected he called and told me what needed to be done, when it would be completed and how much it would cost. He found other things after the brakes were fixed and they test drove the car. I was immediately notified and it was still completed within the same timeframe originally promised. The cost was very reasonable. I would recommend any time! Thank you Tom Cherry.

Owning a German car can sometimes be a challenging experience, especially if you don't have pockets so deep that you can casually throw whatever money the German car dealership thinks you need to at the car. Sound familiar? I knew that when I moved to B-town, one of my challenges would be finding a good independent mechanic to work on my 14 year old 325ci. Ever since buying the car, I have moved beyond the dealers, where I have outright been lied to, ripped off, and generally been continuously dunned for maintenance that reaches show car levels of expense and overkill. Thus, the need for a good independent. Almost by accident I was referred to Allroad by Bloomington Marine and Auto Trim, another quality resource here in B-town. Allroad is a German car specialist. Jim is the proprietor and main wrench. He's the kind of guy who will stop what he's doing, listen to your car related beefs, and in my case tweak the offending problem and send me on my way at no charge if an appointment really wasn't necessary. When was the last time that happened to you in a repair shop? He can do major repairs, maintenance, etc. I've never taken body work to him, but I imagine if he doesn't do it, he can probably get you pointed to the right people locally. I have never had to take the car back to him after he has worked on it, as the repairs have been diagnosed right and then done correctly the first time. Allroad has regularly saved me half or more on care for my Bimmer over dealer prices! All that, and the artwork in the waiting area is cool, too. Wish I had seen a review like this when I first moved to the area!

I'm very satisfied with them. I can't think of anything they need to improve. It was a very routine oil change and inspection, so I was perfectly satisfied. They give a full report and someone talks to you about what the outcome of the service was.

This is a small service and it's quite a while ago. I'm afraid that nothing sticks out in my mind as having been unpleasant about the visit. So, that's about all I can say. I probably got an appointment within a day or two. And probably that was a question more about my convenience than when they had slots. They just took it in, changed the oil, and gave it back to me.

They were very professional by explaining in detail what was wrong with my car. They weren't cheap but I felt like they dealt honestly with me and I'll go back to them again because I feel like I can trust them.

They explained the problem with my car in a very easy, understandable way. They were very professional and had great customer service, not something that you find very often in an auto service provider. I felt like they were honest and trustworthy with my dealings with them and even though they're a little expensive I'll be going back to them.

They're really good. I would just give them A's throughout. The one thing I really like about them is that they don't talk down to me because I'm a woman taking my car in. They really take me serious.

They were really nice when I made the appointment. I dropped off my car, and they asked me to let them know/see what all I wanted addressed on the car. When I picked it up, she looked pretty nice. Trunk was nice, and the quick engine steam cleaned things up a bit on the surface. I wasn't really excited about the paint job. I expected them to do a light spray touch up like I had before when I bough the vehicle. The tried to match the paint, but the texture of the paint just wasn't what I expected - GRANTED - they were fixing paint on plastic and the cut was deeper than I expected. You can see in the attached pictures that up close, it seems noticable, but far away, you can barely tell. I had a hard time looking for it today to take a picture. I think it still looks better than it being exposed. The crevices near the side mirrors seemed to not be as pristine as I had hoped. But I personally didn't bring it up to them. I was nice to them and they were awesome to me. I'm confident that if I had asked them to clean it up they would have done it with no problem and at no additional cost. I even drove back because I forgot to get another decal taken up, and he dropped what he was doing, and took care of it right away. I even lifted the hood to have him better explain to me the job they did to the surface of the motor. I will work to keep my car in decent condition and try to go to them once a year for about a third of the cost I paid this round.
