Bathtub Refinishing reviews in Avon

    BATH FITTER
Removed all old materials, made necessary repairs to walls and plumbing, and installed new tub/shower.  Was at our home longer than he expected in order to make repairs to plumbing that had been incorrectly installed when house was built.  Previous tub installer didn't catch the problem.  GREAT service, product and finish!

    BATH CREST
Jeff was willing to work with another contractor that had remodeled the bathroom earlier to alter the window so that an exhaust fan could be installed to decrease the toxic fumes in the house.  He made the contact, and followed up on it prior to arriving as predicted between 9:15 and 9:30am.  He got promptly to work and was finished by 2pm.  The finish is immaculate.  He reviewed what to expect in drying times, recommended maintenance and cleaning products and made himself available for any problems which might come up.

    Re-Bath Designs of Indianapolis
One bath has been great - exactly what we thought we were getting.  The other has been nothing but a disappointment.  From day one the tub has creaked and groaned when stepping into it.  We were told by re-bath of Indianapolis that was normal.  Last Fall, I dropped a bar of soap while showering and it cracked the tub where the floor and side meet - along the bottom corner.  When I called re-bath, I was told that a bar of soap couldn't crack the tub.  They offered to give us the name of a good repair person.  We asked for someone to come look at it.  The owner, Steve, came out and said "I'm not calling you a liar, but a bar of soap couldn't cause that damage." He then threw the bar of soap onto the bottom of the tub and shattered the bar of soap - with no apparent damage to the tub.  He again offered to give us the name of a good repairman.  After retelling the story of the marring of the ceiling and a hole poked through the linoleum during installation, he did take pictures and said he would send them to send to the manufacturer.  About a week later we received a call stating that the manufacturer would repair the tub for free.  When the repair service called, I discovered that their work is only guaranteed for one year - so with a tub that is constantly stressed (evidenced by the creaking and groaning heard when one steps into it) we will be looking at further problems down the road.  I called re-bath about my concerns and was told that the tub has a lifetime warranty so if it develops problems later they will be covered.  We've had the tub repaired for now.  And, for the record, the repairman said that he could see that there was a bubble (i.e. defect) in the spot of the crack. We have a water-tight tub right now, but still have to put up with the same creaks and groans.

ReBath's response is typical of their dealings with us - We have NEVER said that the tub drain was the source of the 'groaning' in our tub, it comes from the top part at the wall.  The only one to suggest that it was the tub drain was their representative who came out and re-sealed the drain and overflow when water leaked into the ceiling below.  As I have told them from the beginning, the groan seems to me to be from a loose fit between the tub and the wall and/or uneven mounting.  It was their rep that thought it was coming from the drain - just as Steve said that dropping a bar of soap couldn't have caused the break in the tub - when the repair man said he could believe with no doubts (and the manufacturer must have agreed since they paid to fix it!).  Having built houses for nearly ten years, I know something about construction and being a Christian pastor, I don't lie.  The tub in question was a problem from day one and it is NOT the drain.  It creaks worse than the fiberglass tub we replaced.  As long as the tub doesn't leak water, ReBath of Inpls won't do anything to fix the poor installation - regardless of what noises it might make.  I see others have had a very positive experience with them - I wish I could have written that kind of review.
