Set up appointment for estimate and made no other plans on sat afternoon, but he never showed up. Did not contact me to tell me he was canceling nor did he respond to texts asking if he was coming. Ending up wasting time waiting. At least communicate if you are no longer coming.

    Emerald Lawn Care Inc
I was unhappy with a company that provided this service last year, so this year I checked out Angie's List and chose Emerald Lawn Care based on their good reviews. I purchased their whole-season service and so far I am very pleased. They were responsive to and addressed a recurring invasive creeping violet problem from last year and the weeds are now gone. Our lawn looks great. NOTE: I gave an A for Price only because I was required to include it. I did not compare their price with many other companies but I suppose they are probably similar.

    Milieu Design LLC
My backyard terrace project is still in progress and the work that has been done so far has been done like the pros that they are. The project is expensive but I look at it this way .. You get what you pay for and this is a very experienced professional company. Everything they are doing is being done right! My only criticism is that they don't have enough guys working for them. So they are spread a bit thin over multiple jobs and it's taking a bit longer than originally estimated. I highly recommend working with Pete and Milieu Design.

    Perfect Turf Landscaping Inc
Whenever I have consulted Angie's List prior to calling a provider, I have always had good results.  This was no exception!
Over many years, our backyard became very bumpy; my husband referred to it as "the Burma Road" when mowing the lawn.  We finally decided to have it corrected.  I read many good reviews for Perfect Turf and decided to give them a call.  Steve, the owner, responded promptly and came out to take a look.  He's personable and knowledgeable and provided suggestions in addition to describing each step of the work (removing the grass, tilling, pulverizing and grading the soil, laying the sod and rolling.  We wanted to remove a tall evergreen tree before sodding; Steve said that although he could remove the tree for us, he recommended that  a tree service would probably do it at less cost. (which we ultimately did).  The work was done about 3-4 weeks later, which allowed us time to have the tree taken down.,
Steve and his 4-man crew arrived at 8 am, went right to work, and they were finished within a couple hours.  They cleaned up after themselves nicely and did a wonderful job.  He gave us instructions ... watering, staying off the new sod, how and when to start cutting the new grass, etc. ... so now it's up to us!   We're happy!

    Gray Tree Service
This company does excellent work, which is why we called them again after another job they did for us last year.  Once again, we are completely satisfied.  Rick Gardner, the owner, responded promptly to our request for a quote and came out with his crew to do the work within days of our acceptance.  He and his crew are absolute professionals - they know what they're doing and they do it efficiently., from prep work to grinding the stump, feeding it into the chipper and cleaning up afterward.  In no time, the monster tree was gone!  We highly recommend Gray Tree Service!

While it took quite a lot of effort on our part to finalize the colors, pattern, etc, once scheduled, the crew promptly showed up every morning on the job, worked with the village inspector to ensure the base and landing step construction met local codes and best practices (village required a deeper base than originally laid by the crew).  They worked quickly and with as little disruption and as cleanly as can be expected.
After the first winter, there was some settling along the house due to filling in a window well done by another contractor.  I called Maria and she came out, took a look, and sent her crew out to re-lay the area and backfill to make things right at no additional cost.
Overall, we are very happy with the end product and would recommend working with Maria and crew as long as you have a pretty decent idea of what you want in terms of design.

    Harmonious Decorating & Remodeling Inc
After receiving the estimate and agreeing to the details of the job (I had a couple spots that needed specific custom edging to match up to planned drop ceiling), everything went smoothly.  Crew was on-time, worked quickly, and within a week of scheduling, the job was complete.  I had one or 2 spots that didn't turn out great - crew laid drywall across an exposed vent pipe that needed to be trimmed around (crew corrected this when I pointed it out) and I have one visible seam that has a crack line that is a bit unsightly that I had to correct myself.  However, given the price and otherwise very prompt and professional work, I would definitely recommend for other similar projects.

    Gary's Lawn Business
He said he came out twice to do work. As we live in a town-home, he called to confirm which backyard by describing our patio furniture. It sounded like ours so we said that's it. When we came home and no weeds were removed. We called several times to find out what had happened. He said he went to the address on out street and did the work. We told him no weeds had been removed. There are to two streets in our subdivision with the same name, but one is a Drive, and the other, ours, is a Court which is a cul-de-sac. We had told him how easiest to access our yard. To clarify, I asked if he went to Court or Drive. He said he went to the street name but wouldn't say if he went to Court or Drive. I said he probably went to Drive and did the wrong house so we still needed him to do our yard. He said, and I quote, "I'm going to take a pass on this. Your house is just too hard to find." This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I told him we wouldn't pay him since we didn't get the work done and he said that was fine.

This company is about the most unprofessional business I have ever come across. We are renters and our realty company "Pace Realty" of Vernon Hills have contracted Navarrete Landscaping of Deerfield to maintain our home's property. Not only do they operate their business in a residential area (next to our home), but their property is a junkyard and outdoor, mechanic shop. To say they are a hazard to our community is an understatement. Furthermore, as landscapers, they fail to cut our grass... let alone trim any bushes or pull a single weed. In 2 years of living here, they have managed to cut our grass (and theirs) only a handful of times. Each time the lawn was cut it was usually by their high school daughter.
We renewed (last year) with the impression the issue would be resolved, but it has not. Our lawn is currently going on 4 weeks without seeing a lawnmower and our property is an eyesore in a beautiful, family-oriented community.
