    Grayslake Medical Group LLC
I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Romanelli and his staff at Greyslake Medical Group. I have been seeing him for over 20 years, moved an hour away, and gladly drive the hr for any/all appointments for the incredible level of medical care received by Dr. Romanelli. If 'old school' means 1. The doctor cares about both your physical and mental well-being 2. Strives to be excellent at his craft each and every day 3. Understands the patient's needs, stage in life, overall level of general health as it pertains to intelligent diagnosis 4. Isn't out to prescribe unnecessary treatment for ailments that there is a 99% chance do not exist, then well, he's 'old school'. I think 'awesome' is a better explanation.

    Elias Gikas MD
Let me first by saying that coming across Dr. Gikas was a blessing in disguise. I did not come to him initially for work but was introduced to him through another Doctor. You, see my story is a little different from some. In 2018, I found that I would need to have a double Breast mastectomy performed. As you can imagine, it wasn’t the best news and I was terrified and felt defeated. My Primary Womens Doctor, Dr. Drugas, was very patient and understanding, and informed me that I will be ok. And with the reconstruction process, she would introduce me to someone that she believed would be just as efficient as herself. That’s when I met, Dr. Elias Gikas. I had so many concerns and questions about what if’s and how’s but every time I mentioned this man’s name, everyone always replied the same way, “ You are in great hands.” And did he deliver on his name! It was not even the reconstruction part of it that wowed me the most, it was the warmth and the compassion that he and his staff had for me. The constant communication, the availability, the flexibility, and his genuine approach to me as if I was someone he knew. I could never say enough about him and what he did for me, and sometimes in the medical field I feel like you can become lost as just another patient. He never made me feel that way. He and his receptionist are God’s blessings, and with 2 surgeries in the same year, I would have never gotten through what I did without them coaching me along. I felt supported and cared about and mostly confident that I would be alright in the end. I can’t thank them enough for what they did for me. He is 100% the real deal!!

    Hairston, Dr. John
I saw Dr. Hairston for several years for issues related to OAB. It was a complicated case, and all of the standard medications were tried without success. He did a TURP thinking it might help and it did nothing except ruin my sexual function. Subsequent Urologists have been shocked he would try this procedure. While he did explain the risks to me, he felt there was a high chance of success and there was none. The worst thing is that he seemed to lose interest in my case when it became difficult, and made me feel like he didn't want to treat me anymore, rather than continuing to try to find a solution. I felt no commitment. The feeling I came away with is that while he seems clearly very knowledgeable in his field based on his education and accreditations (you would not know it from my experience), it is time for him to retire from practice and focus on teaching and academics. I would never refer a friend to him and really think he days of active practice are behind him. He has lost the desire

She's thorough, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. She's easy to work with and in my 5 years as a patient, she has never disappointed me. She does not do medicare.

    Grinblatt, Dr. Jeffrey A
One of the finest and most compassionate physicians I have ever been lucky enough to call my doctor. He has the greatest bedside manner and his diagnostic skills are amazing. This is the one physician I want by my side if things ever get rough. I trust him with every fiber of my being and chose Dr. Grinblatt to treat my mother. Look no further if you want the very best for yourself or your loved ones.

The good: Dr. Kholoki was my mother and stepfather's primary physician. Also, my aunt's. The only good thing was that he was fine for the simple things. Routine check-ups, etc. The true measure of a good doctor, or anyone for that matter, comes from how they treat you when things get tough. This is where things went VERY bad. His visits to them in the hospital and rehab facility became less and less frequent along with a horrible lack of any compassion whatsoever. I can't tell you how many times my mother cried in the rehab facility (Plymouth Place) as she told me about all sorts of physical difficulties she was having while there. This went on for weeks as her condition deteriorated as Dr. Kholoki did nothing to notice anything going wrong. This is because his visits were short and very cold as he knew she would no longer be a source of billing. It was our family who called the ambulance to have our mother moved into the hospital where should soon passed away. No calls. No anything from the same doctor who treated my mother, stepfather and aunt for many years. This is NOT a review written out of anger or anything of the kind. This is written based solely on the facts as they were shared by these 3 people with my family. Checking on the Clerk of Cook County's website where you can see that others feel the same way based on lawsuits filed against Dr. Kholoki.
