    CELTIC ELECTRIC CO
Brian and his son were a joy to have working in our home. Promptly responded to our request for a quote. Available within a week. Reasonable rate. They were on time on the work day. Turned out the standard dimmer on Brian's truck would not work. He had to get a new one and did not charge that travel time to us. They cleaned up all materials and were gone in the estimated time. Will definitely invite them back when I need electrical work done.

    Oakwood Electric & Generator
Outstanding experience from first call/visit through the final county inspection. We purchased a 22kw generator. The Oakwood team performed exactly as promised. Always arrived on time, explained each step in the process, e.g., permitting, installation, etc. Responded to each email or phone call promptly. I wish all contractors we've used were as good as Oakwood Electric. We highly recommend them to anyone interested in investigating and/or buying a Generac generator.

    AGC ELECTRIC INC
I am so grateful! Our outdoor outlet broke during subzero weather. We need the plug to keep the pond bubblers going and keep the koi alive. Andy came the the same day I called and replaced the plug, He didn't complain that it was a little job. It was dark and cold but he got it working and saved my fish! Thank you so much for great work and service. I will definitely hire AGC for any future electrical work!

    Eichele and Valene Remodeling
Ed Eichele has stated to us that he stands by his work and that he will do whatever it takes, that they are accommodating, open and transparent. Beware, Ed knows all the right things to say, just dont believe any of it. Following are the issues we had with Eichele & Valene Remodeling: Needed to hire a second contractor to rip out and replace our newly installed tile floor and takeover our project. Had to remove and replace wood trim Paint quality grade with option of 2 brands stipulated in our contract was not followed. An untrue story was given as to why a cheaper grade had to be used. Promises of a building permit and an inspector appointment never materialized (3 months). After blaming the City of Wheaton building department for an unexplainable lack of action it turned out that the city never received payment for the permit we paid Eichele & Valene to execute as part of the contract. Our walls were painted and floor installed before the plumbing and electrical work had been started let alone the drywall being finished. Our second crew took advantage of the floor being exposed to perform plumbing and electrical work by removing floor boards vs. access through the basement ceiling as was planned by John Valene. Lack of a consistent work schedule; multiple no-shows without warning. They still owe us money per their own records. Details: Tile Through research of manufacturers websites, the Tile Council of North America, and consulting with a member of National Tile Contractors Association, we were able to confirm that the tile floor was laid improperly and needed to be 100% replaced. Some of the installation related issues: Our warranty for the subfloor and the tile was void due to the use of cheap drywall screws used to fasten the Durock subfloor rather than the required 1-1/4" USG Durock Brand Tile Backer Screws for wood framing (or equivalent) or 1-1/2" hot-dipped galvanized roofing nails. As a result of improper installation, there was so much unevenness and lippage all over the floor that we were tripping while walking on the tile. Nothing sat squarely or level on it. The lippage of many tiles was the same thickness as a quarter or thicker. (See photos) Trim We upgraded our family room from carpet to tile. It may not be obvious to all homeowners that the baseboards are installed prior to installing carpet, thus touching the floor that the padding and carpet are rolled over. For tile, the baseboards should be installed on top of tile, which put the baseboards noticeably higher on the wall. Since the baseboards were never removed prior to installing the tile the end result was a family room with oddly short baseboards as they did not sit on the tile where it should be if installed correctly. Furthermore, the staining and varnishing of the shoes was dreadful. Application of conditioner, stain and urethane was performed outside in 40 degree weather all within 6 hours. Per the Sherwin Williams website one needs to, Let dry completely (usually 24 hours). In addition, the site states that one should; Apply stain only at the proper temperature. For most stains, 70 degrees Fahrenheit is the optimum, with the safety range from 50 to 90 Fahrenheit. The worst part about this baseboard fiasco was the calculated deception exercised where the eating area meets the family room. They removed baseboard from the eating area where it was installed at the correct height for tile to rip off of the bottom in order to match the height of the baseboard of the family room which was at the correct height for carpet. (See photo) Paint We believe that painting before the drywall, plumbing, and electrical work were finished was a tactic employed to give us the illusion of progress after weeks of no work being performed. It was an obvious ploy to distract us from the fact that no progress had been made in weeks. We have since had to repaint all surfaces but 3 walls. Windows There is an entire fiasco with regard to undersized windows being installed. The additional framing required to install windows that were too small led to the threat of additional Change Order costs. One might question why someone would install the wrong size windows. Menards remade the incorrectly sized windows as ordering the wrong size windows was their mistake. Eichele & Valene told us that we owed them the cost of a second installation even though they should have stopped when they realized that the windows were the wrong size. (See photo)

    Roselle Electrical Service
The job went exactly like one would hope. A quick reply to the quote request. Easy to schedule. Very communication and arrived when they had said. Found a bad switch and issue with neutral line in the circuit. The repair was done efficiently and even connected the ceiling fan I was installing when I discovered problem. The job was left clean after the work. The pair was fair. I will absolutely use them the next time I have electrical work.

    Standby Electrical Systems Inc
I purchased the Angies List 2 hour deal for $129. A week later Jeff reaches out asking about the job. He was very pleasant to speak to. He had excellent reviews and I was looking forward to having a reliable electrician to work on my home to try out and if he did a great job I would have hired him for other a bunch of other electrical work I want to get done at my home and I have several rental properties I could use him for on other work. So I tried to see if we could come that week as I was traveling out of town the next week but he was already committed so he said he could possibly do the next week but I was gone. So I said no worries I will be back a the following week so in 2 weeks and he said he should have availability. I called him the day I got back beginning of the week and then didnt hear from him as it was that weekend and then called him again Monday and he called back. He apologized and said he was busy and said he would see if could get me in that Thursday or Friday but possibly but if not then definitely on Monday. I if you have any cancellations Thursday or Friday would be great but if not then definitely will see him on Monday. So I arranged my schedule so I could see him Monday afternoon at my home. He didnt show and I reached out and said he stuck on another job and its going to go longer than anticipated. He said customers reschedule on him and never tell him the right work and he has more work so ends up staying on the job. I guess a job he booked for someone closed the office for 2 hours and he couldnt work at the time and he started in the morning and had to finish up in the afternoon. I said okay. I was a little annoyed because I had to change other appointments but understood as unexpected things happen. I said okay lets reschedule to this week but I really need someone as I have guests coming to town and I cant keep scheduling and then having a change and it has been more than 3 weeks since we first spoke about having him come to install wall sconces in my bathroom which would take an 1-2 hours. He was apologetic and I felt bad for him as he said hes just swamped right now so I was trying to be understanding. He said he would call me the next morning and let me know when or if he could do the small job due to his schedule. I never got a called from him the next morning so I called him back and nicely asking if he could call me to let me know if this isnt a possibility for the week if he could just give me a date so I can make my schedule so we could meet. I never heard from him again. I think the deal Jeff is offering is a good one and obviously he does great work based on his reviews however thats if he actually shows up which I was hoping for. I went back after I was having challenges scheduling him to look at the stellar reviews and then also look at the ones that werent good. The unfortunate and surprising part also in reading the reviews were the negative responses by Jeff blaming the customers and not in a kind way. He was accusatory and mean with some of his responses which is very unprofessional and unfortunate because thats not at all what I got from him when we spoke. He was very professional and pleasant to speak with. I guess the only unprofessional thing I experienced was him not showing up or constantly rescheduling but that is splitting hairs. I guess scheduling is an issue with Jeff (Im guessing he does this alone and has no employees or doesnt sub out the work) as he is the only one Ive spoken to. My review is based on my experience and is unfortunate its not a stellar one because he didnt show up. Im sure he would be great and I would have given him a great review based on the work he would have done like I read from others. Jeff really needs to hire help either for scheduling or if customers cancel or extend time which impacts other appointments then add in costs so they wont do that. But Im guessing he cant say no when hes doing the work for that customer because he does a great job at a fair price and they want him to do other work while he is there but sadly it impacts other potential customers who want to hire him. I wish him luck and hopefully he can get this scheduling issue addressed and I would be open to hiring him.

    Tasho Electric
The entire experience with Mr. Tasho was excellent. He promptly got back to us with an estimate for the work, followed up shortly after to ensure there were no questions on the estimate and volunteered to review his estimate if it was out of line with other estimates we received. His estimate was very consistent with the others we received and was neither the highest or lowest. He set up a time to come and do the work that worked well for my wife and I. He showed up promptly on the day of work and worked through the day to complete all the work in one day. He always asked for my input if he felt he was doing something that may be contrary to what we had agreed to or different than what was in the estimate. He ended up providing higher grade fixtures than was quoted because they looked nicer and then refused to take any money to cover the difference in cost. He cleaned up after himself as he worked and when he left you couldn't tell he had been here except for our new electrical fixtures. I would have no hesitancy to use Mr. Tasho again and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs to have electrical work done in their home.

    Haynes Electric, Inc.
Kurt and Apprentice Rigo arrived exactly on time, scoped out the project, hauled in a massive ladder, divided up the work, and performed in a workmanlike manner. Very neat. Good communicators. We have done business before with this company and find owner Ron Haynes responsive and good to do business with. I was pleased to learn that this crew's next job was at the townhome we are planning to move into at Wyndemere.

    Best Home Renovations Inc
Steve and his crew did an excellent job. What I thought was most impressive was how important it was to him to listen and do everything possible to please his customer. I would recommend them 100 percent.

    Roselle Electrical Service
Dan from Roselle Electrical Service came out to give me an estimate. After looking at the work he gave me an estimate on two different ways to handle the project. He spent time discussing both options and why he couldn't give a final price for either one. He said that the final price would depend on what had to be done once he had the circuit breaker cover off and could actually see the wiring. He came out to do the work today. He and his assistant did excellent work. I would recommend him to family and friends.
