Dog Gone Good Dog Training Inc
Our dog was 4 months old and very hyper. We were having trouble with house training and with basic commands. Michelle came in and taught us how to get our dog to respond and then how to reward her with positive reinforcements, treats, etc. It was quite effective. Michelle is highly knowledgeable and we saw immediately that she could help us improve our dog's behavior. After the "Impressive Pooch" program, our pup is much, much better. One thing I will say is that there was a lot of talking from Michelle, particularly about how we were doing things incorrectly. I would have much preferred to do more training and less talking. I get it when we aren't doing things The Right Way, but I maintain that there is more than one way to do it. And frankly, any dog with any sense is going to NEED to adapt to slight alterations in walking, commands, Being Alpha, etc. Having written this, Michelle did absolutely help out, and I would recommend her. I think she might be better suited for dogs with special needs (fearful, aggressive, prep for showing, etc.), since her knowledge is so deep and the owner's needs would be more urgent and important. In a way, it seems that our dog got better in part because she grew up a little bit.

    Hightails Hideaway
I started taking my golden retriever to Hightails in the winter since it was difficult to get him out for walks with all the snow. We have been "regulars" ever since! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive to the dogs they care for. Our pup comes home really tired after playing all day long! Boarding goes well too! The staff even posts daily pictures to Facebook so you can see you dog while you are away. We have used Hightails frequently for the last year.

    Hightails Hideaway
We have been using Hightails Hideaway for the last 10 months after a recommendation from a good friend. We take our 16 month Golden Retriever to Hightails at least once a week for "Dpggie Daycare" to play and socialize with other pups. (We started this when the winter weather was so horrible last winter 2014) We also have boarded our dog here at several times over the last 10 months for various lengths of stays. We have been thrilled with the level of care provided. Our dog loves going to play--there is no boarding "stress" here either when we have needed to board him overnight. In the past when I boarded my Goldens at other places (i.e, Kennels or vets) they would be so stressed when we got them home--and they needed to be groomed immediately. At Hightails, our dog comes home in great condition. He has had ample daily play time over the weekend when we are gone--he has not been crated for lengthly periods of time alone. There are no crates! They have boarding "rooms" for each "guest". I highly recommend anyone who wants a great, positive, safe environment for your pet to try Hightails.
The staff is terrific. Leigh and her staff take great care of each guest. Every person at Hightails cares for our dog like it was their own pet! From Sally's welcoming smile in the morning when I drop-off for daycare--to Kyle or Matt in the afternoon when I pick up my dog after a full day of play. They are very attentive to all the animals in their care. PLUS they post great photos all day long on Facebook. I get to see how happy my dog is and how well he is doing. It is a nice touch.
They also have very convenient hours for weekend pick-up from boarding! When we return home late on Sunday--we can still pick up our dog till 8PM. That's a real plus!
I would recommend taking your pet out for a "meet and greet"--you will not be disappointed.

    Suburban K9 Dog Training
We asked Matt Covey for help with our rescue dog, Finn. Finn is an Australian Cattle Dog/German Shepherd mix, about 35 pounds, and was about a year old when we got him. He had some serious behavior issues with aggression toward strangers, especially men, which wasn't readily apparent when we adopted him. Matt came to our house and worked with Finn and we saw immediate improvement. Because Finn still needed some intense professional training, we sent him to Suburban K-9 "Boot Camp" for 2 weeks, where Lenny of Matt's team worked with Finn on a 24/7 basis. When Lenny brought Finn back home to us, we were absolutely astonished and delighted with the behavior results! Finn is like a different dog! He obeys our commands, is much more relaxed and calm and is doing extremely well with strangers. Nearly all of the aggression has been alleviated and we continue to train Finn with the procedures that Lenny taught us on Finn's return and in Lenny's follow up visits, and we continue to see improvements in Finn's behavior. This was a dog that we were seriously considering returning to the rescue group because, although he was gentle and loving with us, he was extremely aggressive with others (until he got to know them, which didn't occur quickly enough with most people and so was a huge problem for us). Suburban K-9 training is a very professional, results-oriented, amazing program with excellent trainers. Both Matt and Lenny are complete experts and treated Finn with great care. This is not a "beat-your-dog-into-submission program" - it's excellent, high quality, positive reinforcement professional training that worked well above our expectations. I highly recommend Suburban K-9, Matt, and his team. We are delighted and can't say enough good things about the trainers and the training. I don't know how the training costs compare with other programs, but this was worth every single dollar we paid. We are very thankful that we contacted Matt and now have a happy calm dog who will have a wonderful quality of life.

Dog Gone Good Dog Training Inc
Michelle was very professional and seems to have a lot of experience with dog training. She was always very friendly with both my fiance and me and our two puppies. She provided great training tips and "exercises" and helped us teach the dogs ourselves to ensure we understood everything. If we need additional obedience services, we will definitely consider contacting Michelle again.

    Bark Avenue Daycamp
As always we were pleased with Bark Avenue and have been happy customers since 2009. We have taken our dogs to Bark Avenue for training, day care and boarding. Their doggie day care uses an open concept where the dogs get to roam about all day under supervision (I think there are 3 to 4 dogs per human supervisor). Each and every time we have taken our dogs there, the staff has been super friendly, helpful and seem to love what they do. This facility does not turn dogs away based on the breed. In fact, we have a pit bull who they have known since she was a puppy. Matt Covey, the lead trainer has done a great job working with our dogs and is responsive to phone calls or emails when we have questions or need help. They offer a puppy play hour Saturday mornings, which is free. They also offer a range of group classes to include obedience, agility and other fun stuff. Check them out!

    Beach For Dogs
They changed our lives, we can actually go places even though we have an 18 month old "puppy". She loves to go for the day too so to me, that says a lot about the superior level of care.
