Concrete Driveways reviews in Wheaton

They initially came out and were pleasant and professional. Elevations were needed and they said a supervisor would come out. after 3 calls into the office which they said they were sending out a super and 4 weeks, no show.

We are extremely happy with the new concrete drive and walkway. Glen was excellent to work with. He worked with us during the forming process of the hardscape when adjustments needed to be made once we could visual see the area of the drive as we modified the existing footprint. His crew was very professional, friendly and punctual. Even before signing the contract he was very responsive to our questions and worked with us regarding the price. Between signing the contract and scheduling the work there were a few weeks until installation due to weather delays for other projects, but Glen kept us in the loop as to the status. Once work started it was completed without delays. I would highly recommend Glen Galis Concrete and would used them again for future projects.

Glen of Glen Galis Concrete was very professional.  He came out to my house and gave me an estimate that covered everything that he proposed to do from taking out my old asphalt to replacing the dirt at the edge of by driveway after the driveway was installed.   His estimate was within $5.00 of the other two that I received.  I chose another only because they had done a number of driveways in our area and was able to see what the condition there were in after 5 and 10 years being in place.

    Affordable Residential Concrete Services
Aside from a week or so delay due to Wheaton building permit issues and a couple weather delays that couldn't be avoided, the owner, Sam Lobello and his crew did absolutely fabulous work!  He was so attentive to everything, was onsite at all times, and went above and beyond on the depth of concrete he poured, protecting it during weather as it got colder, and working everything to our liking and with perfection. He promised to provide backfill dirt, grass seed, and everything we needed to get our landscaping back in place after he was done, and he did just that and more. He was responsive whenever we called, as this project took longer than most projects due to the magnitude of work that was done. And to top it off, Sam is a friendly, customer-focused owner that we really enjoyed working with and getting to know. The result has been a total transformation of the entry and drive, which we've received numerous compliments on already.

    Affordable Residential Concrete Services
I chose Sam based on his rave reviews on Angie's List.  He is meticulous about the actual work itself and I was thrilled that he was able to do the work without damaging my lawn or sprinkler system.  However, there were several issues which made this a bad experience.
The plan was for him to start the work on a Tuesday when he came and tore out half the driveway and then was to return on Thursday to pour concrete on one half and tear out other half.  He indicated that I should not drive on the driveway for 4 weeks after it was poured.  After he left on Tuesday, he called back that he would not be back for a week.  I called and complained as he had left me with a non functional driveway for a whole week, which would be a total of 5 weeks when I could not use it.  He said he could not get concrete until Saturday.  When I asked why he could not do it then, he had his wife call me to say I would have to pay an additional $800 if they were to do the work on Saturday.  I said that was unacceptable and not our agreement.  Sam did come back that week and tore out rest of driveway and poured concrete the following week.
He was supposed to come back on 9/22 to seal the driveway and it took several calls to get him to do that.  When he came back, I pointed out a hole at the bottom of the driveway on the curb next to the street.  He said it would cost me $2500 for him to fix it.
I spoke to the city public works who told me that 1) He should have had a permit to do the work as he was in the public way.  Sam had requested a plat of survey from me, but then told me that city said he didn't need a permit 2) On city's inspection, they felt that Sam had created the hole when he was doing the work.
I called Sam on October 5 to advise him of my conversations with the city and he said he would get back to me.  It's been 6 weeks and I never heard back from him.  Meanwhile, the city came out and filled the hole with asphalt like material to avoid water getting under my brand new concrete driveway.

    Affordable Residential Concrete Services
Because of many positive Angie?s List reviews, we contracted with Affordable Residential Concrete Services to put in a driveway, a new
sidewalk leading up to the house, as well as a sidewalk along the street. The price was extremely reasonable.  The owner, Sam LoBello, and his assistant, Mike, have done excellent work?above and beyond what their contract called for.

At every stage, Sam made sure we were satisfied with the contours of the sidewalk, with how the driveway looked and with every aspect of the project. Then, after he finished everything more than satisfactorily, he helped with the re-landscaping that was needed around the concrete areas.

Sam is professional, trustworthy, and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend his company?without any reservations.

    Damico Paving & Sealcoating
It went great - very happy with the overall results. I did have to do a little running back and forth to/from work on the day they did the repair because they only gave me one day's notice when they scheduled the work.
I work close to home and it's relatively easy for me to run home to meet service providers or repairmen.  Since it was late in the season, I wasn't sure if they were going to be able to do the job before the winter, so I figured I would jump at the last-minute opportunity to get the work done on short notice, but it sort of killed my work day -- I had to leave the garage door open so they could pave up to the door, and I just didn't feel good leaving the garage & access into our house open for a few hours while they worked.  So I had to wait around in-between crews (removal and repaving) before I could head back to my office.
But the driveway turned out nice, and they did a great job!

From setting-up the estimate to the final clean-up, this company was very professional.  Pete, one of the owners arrived on time to give us an estimate.  He was very polite, well spoken and did a great job explaining the process and answering all my questions.  After getting two other quotes I chose this company because they were by far the most professional.  They were not the cheapest but we learned the hard way with our siding project the true cost of going with the cheapest company.

When the demo crew arrived they covered the apron and public walk which were not getting replaced to prevent any damage.  When they left for the day the site was clean and taped with cation tape.  They handled calling in the inspection but I was told to let them know once the job was approved for the pour.  The finishing crew was supervised by Sal Catalano, the other owner and Petes father.  This guy was great. You could tell he has been doing this his whole life and made it all look so easy.  A true craftsman.  I love seeing these guys work.

After the pour Pete came over to check things out and explained how to care for the concrete.  I paid extra for the sealer, which I feel is worth it because the village always over spays salt onto my driveway.  My neighbor had a new driveway put it last year and didnt seal it and you could see spalling on it already.

I would recommend this company in a hear beat.  They were true to there word.  Built a solid driveway and were really nice, hard working people.

    G Cat Construction Company
Vito and his crew were great.  They are all knowledgeable, considerate, hard working individuals.  I was impressed with everyone as well as the whole process.  They arrived on time and within 3-4 hours had my old 120 foot driveway removed and hauled away.  I also had 2 concrete porches that need to be jack hammered and removed.  Although they had arrived by 7 a.m., I don't think they left before 6 p.m. that first day.  Everything was framed and half the substrate was down.
The second day was the day of the new concrete pour.  They worked hard and took pride in finishing the surface so that it was consistent from front to back.  The end result is absolutely beautiful.
During the entire process, Vito kept me informed and involved as needed.  The crew left my lawn as they had found it - no trash nor damage from equipment or materials that had been staged there.
I'd highly recommend G-Cat Construction to anyone needing cement work.  On a scale from 1 to 10, I think they were a 20.

Glen Galis did a great job start to finish. Glen responded promptly to all my questions and phone calls. He provided plenty of references close to my house.  He showed up when he promised, and he and his crew were professional and courteous.
