    MIKWAY TUCKPOINTING AND BRICK WORK
This was planned for early May but delayed to the end due to weather. Everything seemed to be going according to plan until a hairline crack appeared. The sod was never installed because Wayne could not find good sod in the area. This was 10 days after project was finished. Wayne came the next day to fil the crack and extend line in the patio. Unfortunately, the repair is very obvious in the otherwise beautiful patio. Considering the amount paid we expected a better outcome. The original estimate was $8860, Final cost was $12058. We had to pay to have the a/c disconnected and removed. Wayne offered to split the cost. Unfortunately, this was during our first hot spell. This was not included in the estimate. When I asked about the a/c unit, Wayne said that they would suspend the unit leaving us with a/c. Wayne originally offered a refund of $450, but several days later came over to tell us that he decided against doing this because he "worked hard" and "was proud of the job " he did. In addition, we told him to forget the sod.

    Garage Store
Every aspect of this project was phenomenal! From the early planning stages, to the execution, to the follow-ups after completion. Garage Store exceeded our every expectation. In the planning stages, Jim met with my wife and I several times to make sure that he understood exactly what we wanted, and provided us with options. He never tried to pressure us into any particular decision, he laid out all the options, told us what he found to work best, but let us drive the project. After we finalized exactly what we wanted, he gave us a detailed cost breakdown, and timeline. A few days before our project was set to start, the company called and reviewed the timeline with us, and Jim's team started exactly when they said they would. Every step of the way, Garage Store was in communication with us, and they followed the timetable wonderfully. There was one time that the timeline was changed, but Jim called me, discussed why they wanted to move up a particular aspect, and we agreed it was a good call. The garage doors were supposed to be installed on a Thursday, but the one of the two technicians was unavailable, so Jim asked if they could move it up to Tuesday as it is easier for two people to install the doors than one. Clearly, I was not upset that we could have our garage doors functional two days earlier! ( I'd call that a win-win) During the project, Garage Store was exceptionally communicative. Jim would often text me to go over questions, or concerns, and he welcomed both my questions and feedback during the process. As little things came up, we would send pictures to each other and I felt confident that every thing was being taken care of perfectly. Moreover, every weekend, Garage Store would call and review the week coming up: reminding me what was going to happen each day, and check in to make sure that I did not have any questions or concerns. At the end of the project, my drywall was removed, the garage was insulated, new electrical was run, an electric heater was installed, new drywall was hung (taped, mudded, painted) new doors were installed, new lights were installed, Epoxy flooring was installed, organization was brought into the space. With all that going on, the price seems high, but again, each component was right on, or below the cost of other companies. I cannot stress how happy we are with Garage Store. Every single person we worked with on this project, was a consummate professional. We felt confident and informed every step of the way.

    Atlas Concrete Lifting Inc
A portion of our garage floor was sinking.  I called Atlas and the owner Mark came out the same day to provide a quote and set up service.  He was incredibly informative and walked me through the entire process.  The quote he gave me seemed very reasonable for the work that needed to be performed.
On the day of service, he arrived with two of his employees.  They again explained exactly what would be done.  His employees were incredibly conscientious and seemed very experienced.  It was obvious that they took pride in doing a great job.  About halfway through the job, they ran into a problem at which point Mark came out help troubleshoot.  Unfortunately, the concrete was stuck and we were one of the few that lifting would not work for.  Mark explained the problem they ran into and the steps they took to try to resolve it.  In the end, my garage floor will need to be replaced.  However, despite the fact that Mark and his team spent the entire morning utilizing labor and resources to complete the job, I was not charged as he could not complete the job.  In addition, he went above and beyond by contacting a concrete replacement company, providing them with pictures and the exact details of our situation and providing me with their contact information.  It is an exception these days to work with a company that truly takes pride in what they do and stands behind their product.  Atlas Concrete from start to finish was professional in every sense.  I think my garage looked cleaner when they were done than it did before they started.  Even though the job was unable to be completed, I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking for a reputable concrete lifting company that stands behind their work.

    Local Concrete LLC
Luis quoted on the driveway and walkway in July and stated that he could do the work in 1-2 weeks - a better lead time than the others that we called for quotes. Most of the phone calls & texts were answered within minutes. He applied for the permit directly with the village and it was ready 2 weeks later. Luis said that he could start a week after that and after I got the Julie dig number he did the work the next day. I thought that it would be a 2 day process with the demo and permit approvals but it only took a single day. The village came by during the process a couple of times and approved and we were pleasantly surprised to have it all done in a day. They blocked off the driveway with caution tape to prevent others from driving or walking in it before it dried. They came by the next morning to take the support beams on the sides used to keep the poured concrete in place. I wish that they had taken a little more of the rocks/dirt along the sides of the driveway but I moved those myself with about 30 minutes of work so that the landscaper could lay topsoil and grass seed a few days later. Luis's crew also graciously took a basketball post in concrete at the side that we asked the to remove as well as some spare bricks that the previous homeowner had left. We're very pleased with the quality of work and will hire Designers Concrete again and recommend them as well.

    Desmond Landscape
Desmond Landscaping is awesome! Not only are my new patio and front stoop perfect, but Don and his team were always polite, professional, and patient. Don stopped by for a free consult and I immediately liked his calm, knowledgeable, and friendly manner. Over the next several months, he answered loads of emails and was always quick with his responses as my wife and I had trouble making decisions. The price he quoted us was less than the other 4 landscapers who came to view our property, but we probably would have gone with Don anyway because he was the only landscaper who promised to actually be on sight during the construction (instead of sending in a team of guys we didn?t know and who hadn?t been there to discuss the design plan). When the time came, Don was there (all 5 days), managing and working on his hands and knees. The rest of his crew were equally friendly and accommodating. We love the new patio, back steps, and the new stoop leading to our front door! These guys are fantastic. I will definitely call Don again when my wife and I finally decide what to do with the rest of the yard!

    It went great!
We live in WI and were getting a house ready for sale.  Because the house is in Vernon Hills, the permit process is a little more arduous--which, quite honestly, for the homeowner, is a good thing; there's more oversight.  Luis took care of the permit.
Luis and his crew did an excellent job.  Actually, it looks better than I expected.
This is a smaller business and more available and willing to do smaller jobs than the big guys.  For us, this worked out great because we were in a time crunch.
Luis kept in contact with us throughout the process.
We would definitely use this business again and recommend it without reservation.

    Dave's Concrete
After evaluating four different contractors we selected Dave's Concrete to do our driveway September
2014. We made a good choice. The owner, Rubin, and his staff are very experienced and take great pride in what they are doing. Rubin is very friendly to work with and is very concerned that his customers are happy with the work that has been performed. Rubin kept us updated as to when work would be performed and met his commitments.  The pre pour building inspectors commented on the good materials that were used for the base. The finished product looked really nice and met our specifications. If I had more concrete work to be done I would go back to Dave's Concrete.

Total Paving and Brick Services, Inc
Went very well. Worked with the Village of Vernon Hills to inspect during the install. Had a issue this winter with the extreme cold (driveway lifted up) and they were very prompt in responding to my email. Would highly recommend.

    American Crawlspace & Basement Corp
They are pretty good and quite professional. They followed up nicely. The initial estimate over the phone was pretty clear. The person who came in did the actual work at the time they did. It was all quite professional. We were happy with what they did.

    Sure Seal Inc
They did the work which was amazing. I had to call them numerous, numerous times and it was not a good quality. I booked them and they cashed my check. Then I had to continually call them to get the date exactly when they would be coming out. The work was good but continually having to call them was awful. I had to call them 20 times and if they didn't have my check, I wouldn't have used them. I would have thought they would have wanted the work with the economy.
