    Envy Home Services, Inc.
Exceptionally well. From first contact to meeting with very informative consultant/agent to the very professional and particular construction of the entire project. Per the Building Inspector: one of best constructions inspected. Price a little higher than other companies - but you receive excellence for it. We love our sunroom and it is now our favorite room!

    Theel Brothers Construction
David Theel was hired to build a deck connecting to my patio which connected to my house. His mistake continues to cost me money every time I do a project. Our latest is redo-ing our patio which is square to the house but thanks to Theel, our deck is not. He did NOT square the deck to the house. It's about a foot off and completely crooked. When asked to correct the mistake he walked off the job, even though I paid him some money, and was completely unprofessional. Buyer beware.

    Hawk Ridge Const
Hawk Ridge came out to remove and replace my old deck and replace it with a new cedar deck.
From the beginning they were on time and they kept my yard clean on a daily basis.
I've had absolutely no problems with this company.
When the owner Nick says he's going to do something, you can bet it will get done.
The deck they built is of great quality and will last for another 10+ years.
I would recommend this company to everyone I know.

Quality work with a quality price.

    Rock Solid Builders Inc
Since most people read only the first couple lines, I'll say it now.....these guys are the best around.  From the very first contact with Anna and Butch their professionalism, communication and follow thru were outstanding.  We first were going to replace only damaged/rotted portions of the deck but once underway we realized the best option would be a complete tear-off and rebuild.  Butch quoted a very reasonable price and we ended up with a beautiful 100% new deck for not much more than our original estimate.  There was also an appearance issue with the final product (we selected lattice and you could see some of the framing under the deck).  Butch agreed with our observations and wanted to make sure we were 100% happy with the project so he had one of his crew (Alec) work extra time to alter things slightly so we ended up with nothing visible under the deck.  They did this at no additional cost to us!  Their 3-man crew (Alec, Rocco and Sean) were all personable and did great work.
Bottom line.....if you're looking for a company that provides a good final product, is great with communicating and followup and puts you the customer first, then Rock Solid is who you should call.  (Note: we used the TrexDeck material on our deck.  If you use the TrexDeck there are lots of options so take your time and research what you'd like in your final product.)

    Theel Brothers Construction
David Theel was hired to add
a deck leading from our patio and surrounding our pool.  We based our decision by reviews, his
pricing, and really liking and trusting what he had to say about the project
and his skills.  We have an already
existing structure that he was connecting the deck to and instead of starting
with the existing stair platform he started at the other end (with the deck
floor).  When he got to the already
existing stairs/platform, the stairs did not square up with the floorboards of
the deck (see picture) and the stairs were significantly crooked.  We asked that he fix it so he did something
else.  Instead of admitting his mistake
and ripping up the little bit he had done, he put up railings and everything
around the stairs making it almost impossible to start over. (see
    pictures).  We again stated our
unhappiness with the product and David?s response was ?we both know there is
nothing to do at this point?.  We asked
him to finish the job in a professional manner and he responded that he didn?t
think we would pay him so wasn?t sure how to proceed (we never said anything
about not paying him).  David today told
me I was making a big deal out of nothing, he did the job as asked, he was
taking the ?loss? and we could finish the job ourselves.  Never in my entire life have I ever dealt
with someone so unprofessional and unethical (he did get half of the money for
the project).  No matter what the problem
(little or big?.big deal or not), if you are paying for something your
    expectations should be met.   AN
HONORABLE businessman would repair something no matter what the cost for the
sake of his reputation. What a disappointing experience and loss of money. Look
at the pictures and be the judge yourself.

There were some changes to the existing deck layout that we wanted. They were very helpful with ideas to get what we wanted for the best cost possible. They also took care of getting permits and made this a pain free experience for us. They told us when they would start and when they would finish. They informed us of the hours they would work each day as well. Everything they told us was what they did! We even received emails telling us the start time would be delayed due to rain. Extremely professional! They still finished the project on time even though they lost some time due to rain. There were no excuses, no fuss. Rock Solid Builders is a great company to do business with. So many others will promise the world and fall short on delivery. You can count on Rock Solid Builders to exceed your expectations.

Ok, first let me say if you want this guy book him early !
He is good & therefore in high demand.
We first spoke in May, I signed with Chris in the  beginning of June , work didn't start 'til August.
I wanted something very specific that not all builders have experience with : an Ipe deck ( Brazilian hardwood ) using the clip system ( no visible screws , the boards have groves on the sides and the clips hold them together out of sight) .
Ipe is very dense & therefore wears out saws, drills, etc, more quickly . Not everyone likes to work with it. I researched this heavily before contacting Chris & was impressed that he knew all sorts of details that I had looked up right off the top of his head.
We  decided on a steel frame to support the deck , since the longevity of this wood far exceeds what is normally used as support.
Chris completely understood what I was looking for & had some even better ideas to enhance the original plan.
One of them was Trex alumiunum railings, very low profile & blended in perfectly with the wood tones of the Ipe.
Beautiful finishing touches w post caps & skirts.
And even when there was a construction mis-communication, it was quickly resolved  & we moved forward.
There should be more contractors like Chris , he is detail oriented & a consummate professional .
His office manager Sabina was great to work with as well.

    Met with Ken on May 3rd , 2013 at 5pm .
Gave me the male attitude " this is what I'm going to do or not do " as the case may be.
Had little interest in what I wanted to do. At one point told me he would not warranty the work as I wished it to be done.
I ended our meeting quickly after that, yet I received his estimate via email , complete with PDF drawing on May23rd, 2013 and several follow up phone calls which I did not return.
Judging from the response below Outback's records keeping needs some improvement as well.

    Unique Deck Builders Inc.
Showed up late for our appointment.
Seemed as though he felt my potential job , a 33 x 17 ft deck was an inconvenience .
Nearly every single thing I wanted to do , he wanted to do differently.
I wanted Ipe wood with a low profile  clip system , he wanted to use screws.
I wanted the height of the deck to stay as it was, he wanted it higher. The list goes on  & clearly we were not on the same page . Everything I wanted was heavily researched by me in advance & do-able.
Why would  anyone hire a contractor who disregards their wishes in that manner ?
He finally got around to emailing a proposal detailing the stuff I specifically told him I didn't want on 06-18-13 .
By that time I had already signed with another contractor who was not only willing to do what I asked but came up with some even better enhancements for less money .

    A&D Exteriors Inc
They were not the lowest price, but they were the ones that we wanted because of the level of professionalism and their willingness to provide a thorough explanation.  The roof replacement and insulation of the attic could not have gone smoother.  It was completed in one day, there was no inconvenience and the work was excellent.  The work on the front patio was good, but I had some concerns relative to the materials used and they upgraded the work with no questions asked and no additional charges... They stated that our happiness was their number one concern and it worked, we couldn't be happier.  I will use them for any and all future projects.
