    All Custom Glass
They came out, measured, and got back to me that afternoon with the final price and told me it was a two week lead time. I got a call about two weeks later late on Thursday, called Friday morning and scheduled for Monday between noon and 1. The guys showed up at 12:30 and had the new window pane replaced in about 20 minutes. They were very professional and I thought the price was very fair. I would definitely recommend again.

Because of the wallpaper problem it took longer than we thought, but there was no extra charge for time. He did a wonderful job fitting in the taller vanity and new sized medicine cabinet/mirror. It is a very small powder room and everything fits perfectly.

    GP Company
Greg's crew did a great job. I had been looking for someone to fix this mirror as it just needed to be put back in place, not replaced. It's an expensive cabinet with mirrors throughout and glass shelves. They guys got it securely in and didn't damage any of the existing glass or the cabinet. I had texted Greg a picture of what was going on so he could see the issue. My only advice would be if he could give a more precise time for arrival. He told me they'd call an hour ahead, by 4:10pm I hadn't heard so texted him. I then got the call from the guys that they'd arrive within an hour, which they did. I just wish I had known because then I wouldn't have sat home all day waiting for the call. That was my only issue. Otherwise, they were great.

    WINDOW & DOOR CONNECTION INC
I am selling my townhouse and one of the four window panes had a vapor leak that we needed to fix.  Michael Welch, the owner, came out himself, on a Saturday morning, exactly on time, to measure my window and provide me the estimate of $300 to replace the glass.  I was able to get an appointment for the first available weekend appointment that weekend (2 days after I called).  He asked for a down payment so he could order the window and gave me a preliminary invoice.  He told me the window would need to be ordered and would arrive in about 14 days.  I made an appointment 21 days out on the Saturday after the window would be ready.  When we called to confirm the appointment, he promptly responded and said he will see us there at the agreed upon time. He showed up exactly on time for our 10am appointment (actually rang the doorbell 2 minutes early), replaced the window glass, and was done in less than 30 minutes.  He was very professional, quick, prompt, punctual, friendly, and easy to work with. I am picky when it comes to service and he was very polite and helpful and even answered questions I had about windows in general. You could tell he knew what he was doing.  He even noticed that one of my other window panes was replaced based on how the glass looked.  The window and labor was $300 total and the window has a 10 year warranty.  I highly recommend Window & Door Connection Inc. for your window glass replacement needs.

    Alanis Development Corporation
Guest Bathroom: Restored old grout in guest bath around tub seams and sealed wall seams and corner seams around a recessed built in shower shelf.
Master Bathroom: Restored old grout in floor of master shower and several tiles up along the base of the shower and resealed corner seams.
The grout in the floor of this shower was originally installed with the wrong color which did not match the walls.  Alanis cleaned out the shower and shower door, removed the old grout and replaced it with new matching grout and sealed wall seams. There was some additional work required to complete the job to my satisfaction and Alanis turned this around within 24 hours of my call. Additionally, Alanis honored my coupon although I had passed the expiration date.
Alanis did a very professional job. The bathrooms look almost new again and I am very pleased with their work.
The entire staff (office receptionist, the person executing the work and the owner, Ulises) handled this assignment with a great deal of professionalism, courtesy and respect.  I trust having them in my home and I would highly recommend them.  They take great pride in their work and it was a pleasure doing business with them.

    Thermalcraft Inc
we contacted Thermalcraft in March to replace our two sliding glass doors, one was leaking and water damaged, so we figured we'd replace both to have them matching.  Their estimate came in much lower than the 3 other companies we had contacted for estimates.  Coupled along with great Angie's list reviews, we decided to go with them.  We ended up signing a contract on May 5th, I believe, and the guy told me it got really busy and that it would take about 6 to 8 weeks before they could have people out there to install the doors... yikes!
the long wait actually worked out for us since we had other work being done to the house at the time, and I wanted for it to be finished before we installed new doors.  Probably the only bad thing was that I had to call them back after the 8th week to get the install scheduled.  They were able to get me scheduled right away though.
The install went really quickly and the guys arrived earlier than they had thought.  I believe it only took about 3 hours to install the doors, when estimates were about 6 hours, so that was nice.  The guys also cleaned as they worked so there was never a huge mess.  After they were done, the new doors looked great without any problems with the install.  Probably the only problem with the install was that there was a strong silicone smell for a couple weeks in the basement afterwards.  I had to keep airing it out.  you can still kind of smell it after a month.
overall, they did a great job for a great price.  I'd highly recommend these guys to all.

    CCCM Inc
Kevin and Jody arrived early in the morning, decided what needed to be done, and went out for supplies. The list included the sink repair, which required a drain pipe replacement, repair of a door frame on a sliding glass door, caulking on a bathroom sink counter, a shower soap dish, a bathtub soap dish, and a shelf, and the replacement to two light fixtures in the unfinished basement.  We were delighted to have all of those minor repairs done, since we are not handy!  We don't think there is anything that Jody and Kevin can't do!  We have used CCCM for a major bathroom renovation, and were very happy with that result.  It's good to know there are people we can call, for repairs large and small.  We always tell Terry, Jody, and Kevin that finding this company was alone worth the Angie's List membership!

    Archadeck of Chicagoland
The design meetings went very well.  We met with David at their office, which I found a little strange since they couldn't see our space.  However, we brought pictures with and David was more than capable of giving us suggestions and ideas from those.  After our initial meeting, he then came to our house to take his own pictures and measurements.  At our next meeting, David had designs drawn up, and was able to give us a quote right away.  Throughout the entire design process, David explained everything very well, and was willing to listen to us about what we wanted, and some ideas that we had.  Compared to some other companies we spoke to, we felt our opinions and needs mattered to David.  When we signed a contract, we were told that our project would begin in late August, and given an approximate start date.
Overall, the project went very well.  The deck took longer than expected, but the entire project still finished right around the approximate finish date (they did start almost 2 weeks early).  The communication with Arcahdeck was pretty good. We would receive daily progress updates by e-mail.  However, I was also checking on the progress each day myself, and the e-mails did not always match what was actually completed (although they were pretty close).  I could see how these e-mails could be very nice for someone who doesn't get home till late at night, and wouldn't be able to see the progress themselves.  I also emailed David multiple times with concerns that I had when looking at the progress myself, and every single time David responded quickly and was able to address my concerns, including coming out to our house when needed.
The paver patio was installed very quickly, and done quite well.  The crew even came out on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend to work on the patio.
After the patio was done, the carpenter had to come back to work finish the skirting and stairs where the deck and patio connected.  It took longer than I expected for Archadeck to be able to be able to schedule the carpenter to come back out. Once he was able to come out, it took him 2 days to complete the project, even though they told us it should only take 1.  Overall, they seemed to have a hard time with their time estimates for the deck portion of the project. However, we are very happy with the final result, so it was worth the time.
Overall, the project went very well, but there were a few other negatives.  When the entire project was finally completed, I went out on my own to look over it.  We had 12 lights installed by Archadeck, but only 6 of them worked.  They did eventually fix this, but it seems like this is an issue that could have been caught by the carpenter before declaring the project finished.  In addition, at the end there were a few other minor issues (screws that missed, were overdriven, etc).  Again, these were all fixed eventually, but seem like the type of thing that could have been caught by the carpenter.  Finally, we felt that the area around the deck was not cleaned up very well.  After they had completely finished, my wife and I walked around and found a lot of debris (wood scraps, screws, etc.) that we had to pick up.
