Asphalt Paving reviews in Schaumburg

    Driveway Doctor
Excellent and I could not be happier! Our asphalt driveway is original, over 30 years old and on all accounts should be totally ripped out and replaced. Due to other pending expensive projects replacing driveway is not an option right now. We just wanted to improve how the driveway looked because it was in horrible shape. This company explained to us that it would look better but cracks would still be visable though filled. That is exactly what I was looking for ... improvement not perfection. The communication is excellent and they stayed in touch during extensive rainy period to let us know that all the rain impacted their schedule and work would be delayed. They honestly communicated that they would let us know if sealcoating was not possible. The apron of the driveway could not be sealcoated because it had become partial gravel and mud. They quoted a very reasonable price and we will have that done probably later this summer. The total cost for a beautiful looking driveway was only $200!

    DONE-RITE SEALCOATING
I had a concrete driveway installed 14 years ago and due to poor soil conditions the concrete heaved and cracked over the years. We required a contractor who would be able to identify and properly address the poor soil conditions before laying the new asphalt. Tony Ducato at Done-Rite Sealcoating was hired and he did an excellent job in evaluating the soil conditions and addressing my concerns. Up to three feet of spongy clay-like soil had to be removed and proper fill brought in and compacted. His crew then worked on a Saturday to finish up our paving job. The finished asphalt driveway looks great and feels solid. We are very happy with the work from Tony and his crew. They were great to work with and Tony kept me informed of schedule and costs.

    Damico Paving & Sealcoating
Fantastic. Gave me a reasonable estimate. Set up an exact date and time. We had a problem with the village coming out for a final inspection before doing the job. Damico worked with me and the village to get approval 15 minutes before the blacktop plant closed down for the day. They did an outstanding job. My driveway looks great.

    Damico Paving & Sealcoating
Got a quote about 45 days back. Called back to schedule  the repair.  Was told that someone would visit in 15 days and would call prior to visiting.  No one come/repaired - called back after 20 days and was told the same thing.   Again, no one called/visited.
Going to call someone else who is more responsive

    Sandmans Paving & Concrete
I was very happy with the quote and worked on getting a permit but needed some information from the company.  Eva told me she was working on it back in the beginning of August but no word since then.  I called, I emailed but nothing.  I would have even accepted a response that we are behind and we just can take on this job right now but nothing.  I wished I read these reviews earlier because I would not have wasted over a month on this and could have worked with another company.  I live in a large populated area that many families share reviews or recommendations of companies they worked with so it is a shame that I have to share that I would not waste my time on this one because they just leave you hanging with no communication what so ever.

    Barreca Blacktop Sealcoating
This company used to deliver a very good job. This is the reason why we hired them last fall. however we found out that this time it's different -- it looks the company outsourced the work by hiring a lot of Mexicans who are not very good at the job skills. The major cracks on the center of the driveway (each about 4~7 feet long,2~3 millimeter wide) were not filled by them at all. We called back and asked them to re-do the work -- they made us wait for at least 3 more week before they sent the Mexicans over for the 2nd time, but those guys still didn't fill those major cracks, instead they filled some shorter cracks on the edge of the driveway. Figuring out that maybe the Mexicans did not understand the requirements that the company gave to them, also we were tired from having to wait for them for a long time, we did not call the company again.  In the past winter and spring, we noticed that when it rained, or when the snow got melt, the water would flow down to those major cracks on the driveway. What can we say, we spent over 100 dollars and achieved nothing!

    3D Brick Paving Inc
3D came out and gave a detailed estimate.  I accepted their bid because it was a good price AND because they gave me full details of what they would do to fix the sinking porch and keep it from ever sinking again.   It was important for me to completely understand what they were going to do, in detail, and they provided that to me.
The install day was rained out - they called me first thing in the morning which I really appreciated so I could reschedule my day.On the new install day, I became worried when they did not come early as expected.  Between 8a and 10a, I left two voice messages asking if/when they were coming.  They showed up at 10am.  My only complaint, and the reason for the B rating under punctuality, is because no one told me the time of their arrival.  The job was supposed to be a one day job and part of the reason it was extended to two days was the late start on day #1.  In our electronic world - a quick call or text notifying me of start times and delays is always greatly appreciated.  It shows respect for me and my schedule.  Had I known they weren't coming until 10am, I could have completed several of MY errands instead of sitting and waiting, not sure if they were even coming.
Day two of install, we could not be home and were surprised when we got home that nothing had been done.  I called the office immediately - Someone answered and they checked into what happened and promptly called me back with answers.    I never found out for sure why they didn't come the next day, but I was assured they would be back the following day to finish.  Again, I only mention this for the benefit of 3-D - it really means ALOT to your customers when you communicate throughout the process of arrival days/times and update us of delays.  I understand it is the nature of your business which is why the communication is SO important.  Please show respect for our time as we show respect for yours.  Again, another reason for a B rating.
The guys on day 2 also did a wonderful job and our front stoop looks beautiful again.  There were a few items that needed to be addressed after day 1, but the day 2 crew fixed the problems.
Overall, I would hire 3-D Paving again.  They were responsive, friendly, and they did excellent work.  I am happy with my new porch.

    Suburban Seal Coating Inc.
This was a disappointing Angie's List referral.  Despite the warning that subcontractors were used on the jobs and that it was their busy time of year,  Seal Kote is a known name and we weren't too concerned.  On the first visit, the cracks were not filled.  The sealcoating was done well, however.  My husband spoke with Larry, he came out to check the driveway and said he would send someone out to fill the cracks.  On the second visit, it appeared as if they painted over the cracks which left a shiny finish on top of the sealcoated driveway.  The cracks still weren't filled.  A filled crack means you don't see any part of the crevice and there was no difference from the original condition.  We gave up.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Seal Kote.

    BP Sealcoating and Paving
3 guys and a service truck came, started preparing for the job, and I came out and said 'you have to measure and call in the job for the price'
I  called into the  office ( Eric?) and we negotiated the price (the driveway was more square footage than the coupon included)
I explained that I had some cracks that wouldn't withstand the ice and snow expansion and we would need some filler.
He said he would contact the crew.  The guys started the job and when almost finished, I came out of the house and noticed sealcoat footprints on the stoop!  I said: 'hey who made the footprints on the stoop?' Just got a shrug, I called the office guy again and explained the situation, he called the crew again and one of the guys brought out a can of gasoline and a rag and was attempting to wipe it away.
When the guys left I was left with a decent looking coat on the driveway, but the cracks were not filled in AND some of the footprints remained and a discoloration where the gasoline was wiped.
I have contacted this company NUMEROUS times and have left messages with no answer.
BP has sister company that cleans carpet and I have tried to contact that # also.
So when the 'pitch' came (why we should use their company's service) it was explained that they have a quality product and they are not 'fly by night' gypsies that frequent the neighborhoods, take jobs and leave the area.
Well, I don't know what makes them any different.
I am mad at myself, I should have made a half payment right then, and when things were right paid the balance.
