Medical Specialist reviews in Sauk Village

It was horrible. I have to take opioid pain meds as well as meds for several nerve pains as needed for these chronic conditions; conditions that I have had for years. Dr. Harris stated she does not do pain meds. I was given to her as my MD had left the practice, so the office signed me up with her. Despite giving her the entire story related to my medical conditions, Dr. Harris would not prescribe my ongoing meds that have been discovered, to help some, after many, many trials over the years. She wanted me to see a pain specialist. I told her that I had seen 3 pain specialists, 3 neurologists, and a host of other specialists. Dr. Harris had my regimen in front of her. She questioned me as to why I had seen one type of specialist as though I had wrongfully chosen this referral. I have followed every avenue given to me to try and relieve the symptoms of these medical conditions.

By the time my visit arrived to see Dr. Harris, I had waited one week, past my actual appointment already, as that was the soonest that I could be rescheduled. I asked her if she would refill my prescription for the month and in the meantime, I would schedule an appointment with yet another pain specialist. She refused knowing it would take at least one month to get in to see a pain specialist.

Dr. Harris continued to refer to one of the medical conditions that did not require the pain med and ignored what I continued to say. My fiancé was also in the room trying to explain the situation. Dr. Harris' last response was "NO ONE HAS EVER DIED FROM PAIN". Now, I am a Registered Nurse in the field for 34 years. That statement should never, never be said to a patient. One cannot know what the patient is feeling nor can one decide the intensity or frequency of the suffering and pain. Anyone in the health field would tell you that the medical conditions that I am suffering entail much pain and fatigue. One cannot judge another's pain. I would never recommend this physician to anyone...and I use the term "physician" very lightly. And while one may not "die from pain", pain can severely disrupt one's quality of life in such a way that one would wish he/she could die. Dr. Harris' treatment of me what disrespectful and inappropriate.

I have been going to her for long time and I am very comfortable with her and she has referred me to lot of specialist for my different medical needs. She is excellent. If I am late they will reschedule and it did not interfere with other appointments. The staff are very professional. She is very very thorough I don't feel like I was rushed when we need a discuss some of my concern.

In a routine exam, several years ago, she felt a lump in my breast, sent me in for tests and due to her discovery, my breast cancer was diagnosed very early. She is a warm, caring and very professional dr. Sometimes it's hard to get in to see her, but if I plan ahead I can usually get appointments when needed.

I was referred to this physician by a co-worker, and I am so glad that I took her advise.  The doctor's office, has employed a very caring, competent staff to oversee the working operations,  This you can see immediately.  To me,  this is always a positive sign, when you first walk in.  The wait time was approx. 15 minutes or less before I had to meet with Dr. Cansler.  The physician was warm, friendly yet totally professional in her initial approach.  After some time you start to feel like you can speak to her about any subject, and that is exactly what happened.  Being a post menopausal woman, it a vital that I have concerns that need to be addressed and she responded with wisdom, and a little humor to break the ice.

The annual pap smear was done, and it was overall pleasant.  Dr. informed me if I have any questions, later to feel free to contact her and she would get back at her earliest possible convenience.  This was absolutely true, because the following week I had an urgent matter which needed to be addressed and she responded back to me promptly!!

Therefore, it was my first visit, but certainly not my last one.  I will surely be back to see Dr. Cansler.  I have been searching for that one GYN for a while now and she surely fits the bill and appears not to disappoint.  Please go see this Doctor, (OB/GYN).

She's a very creative problem solver in terms of what is going on with my body. She gives me suggestions on what I can do, which I always value very much with a doctor. She is overall an excellent general practitioner because she is very knowledgeable. She is not one to push pills; she is one to really find out what my issues are and give me recommended courses of action not only physically but also emotionally. She's very good. Her office is very nice. She has the fireplace going and has a library of book; it is really cool. It is a really good office; it's like a log cabin and I feel really at home. The really big issue is the punctuality, which really drives me nuts. She takes so much time with her patients and she has a lot of senior citizens so she is very patient. She is a gerontologist but because I like her so much that even though I know that is what she does, she really spends a lot of time and doesn't go by the clock. I think that is why people really like her but it is also maddening. I really do like her.

He is very knowledgeable. He explains things to you. I would like to have more time with him. I don't like some of the staff there. He is a good doctor and a really good diagnostician. The office procedure is not good.

Bottom line. She told me that I had to "raise the bar of tolerance for (my) pain". Really?!!! I was in excruciating pain. That was the last time I saw her. Need I say more?

They are courteous and prompt. Sometimes they do overbook however.
