Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Sauk Village

The work was rushed...my husband ask him to redo a few things and he stated that it would be a lot of work to redo. The floor tile he put down in our bathroom was uneven was not smooth at all and also the porcelain wall tile he put in our tub/shower area is uneven..some of the tiles are pushed in and some are sticking out...very noticeable and he told us it would be a lot of work to redo the tile. When they painted you can see spots they missed and he left small droppings of paint on our new sink and tub. Also didnt make sure the paint that separated the ceiling and wall look nice some of the gray paint put on the wall also went on my white ceiling and he didnt bother to make it right. The job was rushed and sloppy. And after a day we notice leaking under the sink he put in which caused damage to our brand new vanity cabinet and he didnt offer to replace it or any type of money back. He was rushing off to do more jobs instead of focusing on the job he had been hired for. He said he would come back but we still havent heard from him and its going on 3 weeks. If he would have did everything that he said he was going to do correctly the price wouldnt been bad but b/c the outcome of the bathroom was so poorly we shouldnt had to pay the full price.

I initially called and spoke with someone who was not able to answer my questions regarding foundation experts.  They took my phone number and stated they would have someone return my call.  The Supervisor called me back later and left a message stating that they do not do the type of work that I was inquiring about.

.Terrible contractor!!  Took him 2 years to get around to doing the kitchen, and then I got far less than expected.  He finally answered our call and agreed to start May 1st, but then delayed because the cabinets weren't ready.  They totally rushed through (once they finally started).  Tore apart our kitchen in one day and threw everything in our garage; left it there - we had to haul it out to the garbage after removing all the nails ourselves - took us a weekend.  That's the last we saw them for over a week.  No appliances, no sink, no kitchen.  As is the norm with this outfit, no pick up on our phone calls or call backs.  Started sending texts to him since the mailbox was always full; most were of them went unanswered by him.  When he did text back, it was one lame excuse after another.
Two weeks later, he began the floor work, and finished laying the tile I bought in two days.  Then the village shut him down.  He failed to pull a permit, and couldn't provide the license/insurance they demanded.  So he stopped working for a couple more weeks.  He made us pay for the permit and for his insurance premium ($390) before he would continue, but was working on another job and made us wait several more weeks.
Cabinets were to have been full overlay - instead he installed junk cabinets - definitely not what we ordered, definitely NOT full overlay.  When we pointed this out to him, he said this was the companies "full overlay".  He lied.  The only full overlay was the pantry.  Doors installed poorly - off by as much as 1/4 inch.  The doors and handles are noticeably off kilter.  Lazy susan cabinet hits side when you try to open it - asked them to fix this as well - they ignored us.
Installation was again delayed weeks, because Robert had also incorrectly measured for the cabinets along the sink wall.  He had to reorder a different size cabinet.  The sink cabinet was to have been centered under the windows like the previous cabinet was, but because his measurements were off, we had to have the sink installed way to the side of the cabinet so the sink would at least center under the windows.
They dented the new appliances we bought pushing them into place; never bothered to mention this damage to us.  The vent for the microwave is misaligned (Mr. Prybyl's measurements were off) so it doesn't vent properly.
After complaining repeatedly about how far away he was from us (he should have just refused the work - I would have been much happier), he demanded another $7,725 on top of  the $6,999 we had already paid through Angie's list 2 years earlier.  He wouldn't leave without payment he demanded.  (This was only the second day they were here for more than 5 to 6 hours).  This was a complete ripoff of an older couple.
They were at our home for a total of less than 10 days; most of the time it was only one person (Robert or his father); the cost of the cabinets was about $6,000 - so we paid this outfit nearly $1,000 a day for 1 1/2 man labor on a terribly done job.
Overall, we were greatly disappointed in this contractor and would warn anyone not to consider using him or his company .

He told me it would take 6 weeks maximum to remodel my kitchen, and it has been 2 years and we still can't get a hold of him. I had to go and buy my own supplies. I believe he is being extremely unprofessional and has raised the pricing.

I am very pleased with all the work Shane did and would recommend him without hesitation.  Any question or request I had during this process was addressed.  There were no surprises.  Shane's work ethic is very strong and he communicates extremely well.  Additionally, he was very gracious to my 89 year old mother!  When Shane established a time to start work, he was always there early and ready to go.  He cleaned up daily after the work was done.

I purchased the Big Deal on Angie's List on September 9th, 2013.  Stanley contacted me the next day through Angie's List message system and we arranged for him to come to the house.  He was waiting for me when I arrive.  He measured for the cabinets and gave me a catalog to choose from.  We talked about when the work would start.  He was very busy and made it clear he would not start before the end of October.  A snafu on my part delayed the start of the job because the cabinets needed to be ordered and paid for.  Stanley kept in contact with me while waiting for the cabinets to be delivered.  The work began on the 18th of November.  After the demolition was complete we started talking about some of the changes I wanted and he suggested.  It was decided we needed to replace the flooring in the attached dining room.  Knowing this work would need to be done we added an additional pot light and stub wall removed.  He provided me a quote for the cost of the added work and the demolition of the dining room floor was completed.  The guys on his crew are very skilled and experienced craftsmen and are proud of the finished product.  The work continued through the next three weeks, including Saturday's (except the Thanksgiving weekend).  I was surprised but happy the progress was moving forward.  We could see the job would be complete soon, but the last major component that needed to be installed was the granite counters.  This is the one area of the project my wife and I want some additional information beforehand so we had some context to set our expectations.  We had no idea the time frame required for the granite to be milled.  However I talked to Stanley and he gave me an estimate of 2 weeks.  As it turned out it was 8 days and we are very happy with the results.  In fact we have asked Stanley to provide us with an estimate to do remodel our bathroom.  GREAT JOB Stanley!!!

I researched Factory Plaza, and others via the web for pricing on granite countertops.  I decided to ONLY use places that were reviewed here on Angies List so I discarded the cheapest quote we got.  However, Factory Plaza was the next lowest price; they beat a local competitor rated highly here by $400 and Lowe's by almost $800.  So, we called Peter and asked them to come measure.  We had new RTA cabinets installed in our kitchen so there was no countertop so our kitchen was useless until we got the countertop installed.  Peter was great and got the measurement done within a couple of days and the day after the measurement, we came out to the showroom to pick our granite slab.  We chose tan brown.  Peter was courteous and unlike some other places we went to he itemized each cost on the final quote and even gave us a slight discount because we chose a single bowl sink (sinks are included for FREE at Factory Plaza).  Now, the one snag in the process came when Peter told us he could install on "Tuesday".  We were shocked considering it was Friday afternoon when we came to pick out the slab and pay the 50% deposit.  He forgot to put the date on the shop ticket and we forgot to look.  On Tuesday, my wife called frantic about the installers not being there at the appointed time.  So I called Peter and he said we had the wrong day.  I was shocked and asked him what day it was supposed to be then and he said "Tuesday".  I paused for a second and asked him to repeat it slowly because he has a fairly heavy Eastern European accent and he said "Thursday" this time.  Ha!  We heard him wrong the first time.  However, when I explained that we had no use of the kitchen he said he would have folks out on the next day which he did.  They arrived about 30 minutes late but were quick, clean and courteous.  They also gave us cleaning tips for the granite.  Except for that brief hiccup, I'd say Peter and Factory Plaza are AWESOME and would recommend them.

There representative arrived on time he was professional , friendly and courteous. After going over what it was I wanted a bid on in as much detail as I could . He made notes then started explaining how Legacy worked . He also explained that he could not give a true bid with-out having his crew coming out and that would cost $2000.00 , he explained that the money would be applied to the project if I hired his company and if I didn't the money was the cost of the estimate . He told me the best he could do was give me a range a HI and LOW end . When he returned a few days later and told me the range he could see my surprise and said we could tweak the price down about $90,000 . Even if we tweaked the price he was $105,000 higher then 2 other contractors. So if you call them get other bids
