Appliance Repair reviews in Round Lake Park

The folks at Priority Appliance Repair Inc are awesome.  From the first phone call contact to completion of the job, they were great.  They took the time to listen to me.  They answered my questions.  They were very professional and accommodating.  They wanted to come out the same day to fix the ice maker, but I couldn't get off work until Friday.  So they scheduled me for first thing Friday.
We have dogs and I always ask that the technician call a few minutes before arriving so I can put the dogs outside.  Most times they forget to call.  Do you know how hard it is to get dogs put outside after someone has rung the doorbell and gotten them all excited?  Not only did the Priority Appliance Repair Inc tech call from down the street, but the office also called to say he'd be here in a few minutes.  Imagine that.  A company that actually listens to the customer :-)
As I suspected, we needed a new ice maker.  Don came out and took a look and sure enough, the motor had been frozen by leaking water.  He quickly replaced it and in no time we have ice.  Yay!!!  I will definitely user Priority Appliance Repair Inc again for all my appliance service needs.

Went well, he was able to clear the line that caused the obstruction that created the freezing to happen and then leaking.  No parts were required, but he knew what the issue was and how to fix it.

They are always great. They are very helpful and reliable. They sell service plans for your appliances and heating and cooling system so if you have any problems, they come out and repair it and you get like up to $400 to replace something that breaks.

I described the situation, Mike asked a few questions, had me do a couple of quick tests and was able to tell me that it was dead, even though the fridge side was and still is working fine. His honesty over the phone in telling me he couldn't do anything and not coming out and charging a service call was terrific. Should I have a need for something that CAN be repaired, I'd definitely call Mike's Appliance Repair.

Steve, the technician, was prompt (actually early!), courteous, and knowledgeable.  He explained what he was doing, answered all my questions, and gave helpful follow-up instructions/advice on future maintenance.
The office personnel were also extremely friendly and helpful when I called to make the appointment.
I also appreciated the Angie's List/1st-time customer discount.

They're not reliable. When you call there you are continuously transferred to different departments. I've talked to five different people within two hours, so it's very frustrating because you can't seem to get anywhere because you're talking to so many different departments and so many different people. The price is not too bad for the insurance, but it's not worth it because of all the aggravation. I took the extended warranty when the manufacturer of my refrigerator was still taking care of it, but then they took over and so I had them and the manufacturer repair guys out here. I've had service on my refrigerator seven times in five years, so I would have to say that's poor service on both parts. The punctuality was okay because the guy did come out here on time. I'm trying to look into getting another extended warranty and I don't really want to use them anymore either if I don't have to.

I called Mike on a Thursday when my washing machine broke down. He said he could try to come out later that day, but if not it would be the next. We did connect the next day (Friday) and he was able to work with my schedule (he was available before I was, but was able to wait in the area until I arrived). He diagnosed the problem and said he would need to order a spring that had snapped, as it was not a common part that he had in his truck. He also warned that the shocks would need replacement, but he would not do that until he replaced the spring to pull up the drum and make sure the motor was still in tact (if the motor had damage it would have been a more extensive repair). I was concerned when he didn't write down the model number, but figured he was the appliance expert and knew what he needed. When he returned Monday, unfortunately the spring he had was not the correct size. This time he measured the size he needed and said he would return the next afternoon to complete the repair. He did return on Tuesday and the actual repair time was very quick. He ran the washer to make sure it was functioning properly. When finalizing the bill, he asked how I had heard of him. When I mentioned Angie's List, he reminded me of the $15 coupon towards parts on a repair and deducted that from the end total. Even though the repair took an extra day, his reasonable rates were worth the wait. Thank you Mike!

Repair experience was greate, they knew exactly what could be causing the issue and they were able order the part and able to come within 3 days to install.  Icemaker and water dispenser has been working wonderfully. Issue I had with them was them not having a clear cost structure. They charged $89 to visit and inspect the problem, it was explained to me that if the repair work is done that day that $89 will apply towards the cost of repair. So, when they came back with the part they charged extra amount for installation without any credit/consideration for $89 that they were paid.  They were lacking in pre-work, they didin't ask for model name and serial number to reduce the length of repair. I also called ABT Electronics, even though they had a higher cost for visit but they seemed prepared by asking me the model name and even serial number (I am assuming to pre-order the part).  But, they didn't have an appointment available till few days later, therefore, I end using Command Service instead.  I should have stayed with them and would not have felt taken advantage of.

I called on Saturday after business hours. He called on Saturday and left a message. We arranged for a Monday repair. He arrived on schedule and had things wrapped up quickly. I would highly recommend Mike - he explains things thoroughly if asked, and has a great attitude and a wealth of knowledge about all kinds of appliances.

I spent $821 on the job. Their service was great. I called them and they were right down the street from where I live. They called me right back and explained the product to me. They had me scheduled in about a week later. They came out on time. They were very nice and took care of everything. They cleaned up after themselves. It was a very good experience. They worked out very well. I will use them again in the future.
