    TCB Masonry
Awesome! TCB did a fantastic job! I initially put a request in on their website on a Sunday afternoon for a chimney repair and TCB responded within the hour! Otto and his team were very professional and completed the work later that week. I then had TCB repair chimneys on two other houses. I'm very pleased with their work!

Kim and her crew were friendly and got the job done in no time! The job was well done with clean up went smoothly. Kim also was associated with a person to remove the stumps which was done on the same day.

Our chimney and fireplace is 29 years old and had never been serviced or swept. I was able to get an appointment within a few days. The technician arrived on time, was very courteous and listened to my concerns. He had addressed those concerns to my satisfaction. One of my concerns was whether or not the damper was closing completely and he confirm that it is and did not need repair. He inspected the chimney and told me that it did not need sweeping and in fact it is very clean. He also inspected the prefab firebox to ensure that it did not have any cracks in it. He complimented me on using only hardwoods. He also inspected the chimney cap. He gave me comfort knowing that everything was in good shape and there was no danger of a chimney fire.

Chris came out and fixed the leak cleaned it all up and had it running in no time. He spent extra time making sure it looked great and added embers for a fantastic realistic look. I highly recommend him. I felt very safe with him with all his experience and knowledge.

When I first called Advanced Chimney, I told them I needed my chimney for a wood fireplace cleaned, and the chimney would need repairs for the crown and tuck pointing. When they came out for the cleaning, I was shown photos of the crown, areas that needed tucking pointing, and some brick that was spalling that needed repairs.. I let them know, I wanted everything done. I few days later Advanced Chimney sent me a written estimate for the work. I noticed it did not mention the tuck point repairs, so I stopped in their store, and mentioned I wanted everything done. I was told not to worry about it, everything will be done. When they came out a couple weeks later, they fixed the crown, and supposedly did the tuck point repairs. When they finished, the workers told me about other things I should have done, such as waterproofing and repairing some spalling brick with a scratch coat. I was thinking to myself at this time what part of everything did they not understand, but okay. After they left, I stopped back to their store on my way to work, and told them I wanted to finish the repairs to complete everything to include the water proofing. I was given an estimate, and I then asked if they were going to repair the spalling brick. The response I got was ..".oh", and then they updated the estimate to include repairing the brick. The next day, I examined my chimney and noticed the tuck point on the chimney was not repaired. The attached photo, shows an area missing the tuck point after they supposedly completed the repairs. When the person came out, for the third time, I told him before he started, I wanted the tuck point repairs, and the spalling brick repaired. He said he was just waterproofing my chimney. I explained, that this was their third visit, and I expected everything to be completed. I did not want to play this game of "oh you need something else". I said wanted everything from the beginning, and expected everything to be completed. He called back to his office, and left for materials and supplies. After he returned, everything seem okay. In the end, I think they completed everything, but I really can't be certain as I can't see the crown and they did not show me any photos of their work after completion. I find it odd they showed my photos of the damage, but didn't show me photos of the completed repairs. Overall, Advanced Chimney was unresponsive to my request to fixed everything, and really didn't seem to care. I wouldn't not recommend Advanced Chimney and find someone else.

It went very well. I bought a special from Angie's List and had an inspection completed. My plumber told me I needed a new chimney liner for my new hot water heater to draft properly and suggested Advanced Chimney. I called and Inspection was the very next day. The inspector confirmed what plumber had stated. It did take a few more days to get the work done which was a bit frustrating with no hot water but once Advanced Chimney arrived it went quickly and exactly as stated. I even ended up purchasing two additional chimney caps which I was missing. There was no pressure to sell me anything yet they were concerned that I was protected properly. I appreciate that. Very informative and explained as they worked. Would definitely use them again.

The response was prompt, with the provider able to mobilize the following day with a crew of 4 tasked to address the various repairs at the same time. The workers were courteous, efficient, cleaned up after themselves, and the quality of workmanship met all expectations. I had no concerns until it became apparent they were not intending to stick around very long...Total time on site from arrival to departure was 4 hours......including a 1 hour lunch ! ! Not that the work was done hastily......it was clear the proposal as written (no estimated hours, only total charges) grossly overstated the value of the labor needed to complete each task......and that is only the beginning of a rather shameful display of deception intended to catch uninformed homeowner's off guard........

The "New Concrete Crown" for which I was being charged $ 675.00....was never provided or installed. Instead, they opted to patch and paint the existing cap in place, deciding replacement would be "too destructive"...without consulting me first !....They proposed no change in price with assurances they would warrant it "as new"...Total time for repairs - 3 hours max or approx. $ 225/hour for labor !

The "tuckpointing as needed" for which I was being charged $ 725.00 was also completed in 3 hours, and repaired no more than 30 sf of surface area - Total time expended tuckpointing - 3 hours or approx. $ 240/hr labor....$ 25 / sf ! !

To "rebuild fire box" for which I was being charged $ 675.00 they ended up removing and resetting 8 bricks total on the rear wall...3 of which were new ! ! Total time expended - 2 hours max or approximately $ 337.00 / hr labor ! !

Needless to say, after they left for the day, and before they returned the next day to finish, I called the owner with my concerns. I asked on what basis were the labor charges estimated, and he would not , or could not answer. He instead claimed all proposals are quoted "Per Job".....and" once on site it doesn't matter if the job takes 2 hours or 6 hours....we stay until the work is done"....his words exactly !

As a licensed architect with more than 30 years experience, I have first-hand knowledge of current labor rates for all trades, and an awareness of accepted daily outputs for various crews of masons and tuckpointers....When I accepted the proposal, I had every reason to believe it reflected current labor rates, and that there were easily 20+ man hours involved to complete the work.

When I presented the owner with the actual time expended to complete the work, and the astonishing hourly rates I was being charged as a result, he had no comment other than "I will to talk to my "technicians" and get back to you"...

Having years of experience resolving disputes between owner and contractor, I took it upon myself to provide a resolution acceptable to me....I knocked $ 732.00 off the bill and wrote a check for $ 1,500.00 as the workers finished and left the site...I have not heard from the owner of Advanced Chimney Systems again..... and do not expect to....

What saddens me is knowing Advanced Chimney Systems will more than make up for it on the next unsuspecting home owner who may not have an awareness of fair labor rates, how the work will be executed, or the ability to be on site during construction. I'm sure they've mastered the art of talking up a big scope of work, burying all expenses into lump-sum "labor" charges....and taking all short cuts possible to maximize profits.....Providing a distinct service with value does not appear to be a chapter in their business plan...

In my years of experience in the construction industry, I have worked with contractors of all trades, and vendors and reps for all kinds of construction services and products.......First impressions, and certainly on-the-job experiences generally reveal who's in it to serve the customer and give them the best value for their money.....It also reveals who's in it only for themselves.....

Unfortunately, I discovered Advanced Chimney Systems is one of the latter, trying to find their success in the intentional deception of others. I would not, and will not recommend their services to anyone !

Thank you for the opportunity to share my experience. I hope it provides helpful information to those seeking it !

When Nature Calls Pest Control Inc
I saw a raccoon coming across the back yard toward the house.  Due to fresh snow on the ground it was easy to tell that the raccoon had gone under the deck.  I looked for someone to trap the raccoon and called Gerrold,  He told me what he does, the cost and we met at my house the following morning.  He set two traps and when I checked them the next morning, they were both full.  Gerrold came out, put the varmints in his truck and reset the traps.  We left the traps out for three days with no further activity, so the job was over.  He's the best.

    The Gas Guy
ll remember him in the future.I haven't been able to use my gas log fireplace in years. It was impossible to light and the pilot would never stay lit. I contacted the Gas Guy. Chris came out, cleaned the pilot, changed the thermocouple, added embers, put a longer stem on the gas knob and I was sitting in front of a beautiful fire that very night. Chris was very polite, thorough and informative. I would recommend him to anyone needing experience concerning natural gas connections and I will remember him in the future. Plus, he's a really nice guy.
