    We contracted Empire for new carpeting throughout the house and removal of 650 ft of ceramic tile tile and installation of LVT. ALso included was the removal and replacement of sub-floor if needed. The tile removal was performed with no protective covering, tenting or venting. This resulted in the entire 2300 sq ft house covered in ceramic dust. The air was unbreathable and we forced to spend the noght in a hotel until a cleaning crew came in to clean the house. The sub-floor did not need to be touched, which we had paid $1200. When the carpet was installed we realizes the they had left out a room in the contract. When we asked to have the carpet adjusted with the overcharge hey refused. The LVT installation was awlful. Lumpy, bumpy tiles, missing grout, baseboards covered in grout. Empire said they would send an inspector out.They called at 9:00 am on a Saturday morning saying they would arrive between 2 and 4. Needless to say they never showed. They have repeatedly made appts and end up cancelling. All we have are empty promises a bumpy floor. We are out $8500 and now have to delay listing our home.

    You promised me that you would be able to remove the pet urine smell from my carpet and you were unable to do so. I asked you to come back a second time and re-steam the area again but you refused to do so, instead simply re-deoderizing the area, which is not what I wanted. When I asked for my money back, three weeks ago, your secretary Cindy said it was in the mail, and I have yet to see it. I have filed a complaint with the Rockford Better Business Bureau. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. You tout all over your website and social media pages that you offer a 100% guarantee of satisfaction, but you don't honor that. My carpet still smells, the cat urine was not removed, I am unhappy with the job you did, and you will not honor your money back guarantee. Despicable. More over you lied and told me "the check is in the mail" when clearly it's not!!

    After he left, I examined the bill and discovered that the hall is 11 x 3, the living room is 22 x 13, the dining room is 13 x 10, and the stairs to the upstairs is 13 x 15, for a total of 644 sq. ft.!  The stairway is only 3 ft. wide, and if the carpet was stretched out, it would be no more than 20 ft. long, or 60 sq. ft., not 195 sq. ft.  I called the office, but got the put off.  I went to the office and talked with Julie.  She said that the bill was done according to the instructions from the owner.  She offered a one room discount of $40, and I took it.  I wrote another check and left, glad to be done with the company.  I advise the members to be careful about how the bill is calculated before you write the check to this company.

    .when they came to install it they said they measured wrong and is it ok if they change the way they cut the carpet in the dinning room. im not a carpet installer and said o.k. the living room turned out fine but, the dinning room has a permanent visible seam running down the middle. obviously the result of cutting the carpet incorrectly to make it fit. not the carpets fault. they came out 3 times denying responsibility. disgusted with them i gave up. 2 of their visits, the owner came in his luxury car, Gucci shoes and an attitude to match. to put it in a nutshell, it was my problem. also, they broke a piece of roseville pottery worth around $100 and put it back together to deceive me. a couple hours later i noticed it. i didnt say anything i was to busy trying to get them to correct the carpet problem. i should have moved the pottery i guess.

    We had the whole thing replaced.  We talked with the sale rep on the front side.  The day that we were closing the house the carpet installer had to come and remove the carpet.  They then had to come back the next day to do the install.  We had people lined up the following day to come and move things into the house.  We stretched a timeline to the people.  The sales rep called us and let us know that our carpet was going to be delayed three weeks.  He had advance knowledge of that.  The price was high.

    They are horrible. I would not recommend them. The carpet work was fine, but they left grout all over. They treated me like I was stupid. They grout was all over the tile, and it looked dirty, and it was cracking, and they told me that is the way it is supposed to look. The toilet stopped working after they did the job. They were talking down to me. They were on time. I ended up hire somebody else to come and fix the grout and stain it. I thought they were taking advantage of me, because I was young and was a first time home buyer.

    Our salesman, Bob, worked with us through numerous moments of indecision. Once we selected the carpet we wanted, he ordered it and told us we could expect delivery in about a week.

    We received the call from the installation coordinator within a week. Since it was a big job, he scheduled the work for two days.

    The installers were here promptly at 8:00 a.m. and started immediately. They worked steadily.

    We are very satisfied with the entire experience!
