    I'm new to the area. I was so glad to have read the reviews for QC Dental Docs. Their service was wonderful. The staff was very friendly yet professional. I've already made an appointment for my next checkup.

    When I went in there, I didn't have to wait too long. So they get me back there. The dental asst wanted to take my blood pressure. I thought I was in the doctor's office. She didn't have any experience on taking it and really pumped up the sleeve up to where it was really hurting my arm. I told her it hurt and she said she had to do it. Naturally after that I was upset and it showed my blood pressure was high. After that, she did X-rays and a dentist came in to see me and said there would be alot of work done. I knew that because I had some old fillings that were coming out that needed to be refilled. I asked about the cleaning and she said we don't do that on the first visit which the office didn't tell me when I called them.  She said to go to finance so they could explain how much it would cost etc. I had enough at that point and I said no, I'm not going to finance.  I'm done. Coming here was a waste of time and I won't be back.    I think their office should have told me when I called them and said I wanted a cleaning they don't do that on the first visit.
    Note" this is the 4th time you had me rate them. Keep track of this one so I don't have to do it again.

    It was a waste of time and I will never go back there. I called and asked for a cleaning. They didn't tell me they don't do that on the 1st visit. Otherwise I wouldn't have gone there in the first place because I wanted a cleaning. When I went there, I thought I was in a doctor's office. The 1st thing they wanted to do was take my blood pressure. I should have refused it then because maybe I could have gotten out of there faster. The girl couldn't take it and she had my arm in a vice as she pumped it up because she couldn't get a reading. I kept saying it really hurt and she wouldn't listen to me. Then she told me it was high. I said, that is the first time it's been high. When I go to the doctor it's fine. I was upset because you were squeezing my arm in a vice. They took x-rays and I had a check-up. Then I was to go to finance to find out how much it would cost. I had enough at that point so I said No, I'm done. I won't be back. That was the first time I had my blood pressure checked in the dentist office and the girl was incompetent and couldn't take it. She obviously had never taken one before. Mine is faint and you have to really listen for it. So I left. I said my visit there was a waste of time and I won't be back. Then a week or so later I was at the doctor's office and they didn't have any trouble at all taking my blood pressure and it was good.

    I was getting a little pain before due for appt, Stopped at office and he prescribed antibiotic to ward off anything that might be developing and said to take Ibuprofen. He also moved up my appt. to take care of it sooner,. It all went well, finished in one appt. Since there was no infection I didn't have to wait. No longer afraid of root canals!! All went as Dr. Bishop predicted. He is a very good, gentle, compassionate dentist. I highly recommend him. His office staff is just as caring as he is.

    When you go into his office. The dental assistant will ask about medications you are on. There are a list of drugs they have to be careful with because they can cause complications and infections. I'm on Foxamax which is one on the list.  I haven't had any trouble with it with a checkup or fillings. if you have a root canal or a tooth pulled, that's when you have to be careful. He will give me a shot of Novacaine and wait a few minutes for it to work. It takes him about 1/2 hour to do a filling. They are very friendly and every time I go in there they will ask if there are any changes.

    Since I see Dr. Jim on a regular basis the cleaning/checkup went well. Did have a small cavity and was able to get it filled the same day. Dr. Jim is a wonderful, gentle, soft-spoken man and a great dentist, No longer fear the dentist.

    It went very well! Right when you enter the building, the secretary hands you the papers you need to sign and double check. This way, there is very minimal wait. After a few minutes your name is called and you are directed to your room. The hygienists/technicians are very considerate and are gentle when cleaning the teeth, yet also do a quick and thorough job. They then take the x-rays, and after that you wait a very short amount of time, anywhere from one to five minutes, for the dentist to come in for the polishing and fluoride. Finally, payment method is discussed at the front desk, and you are allowed to leave. Very friendly and conversationable staff, would recommend to anyone looking for a great dentist.

    This was my first visit. The check-in process was very easy and convenient. I've never had a good experience in a Dental office, so I was quite nervous and assumed the outcome would be painful and unnerving.  However, I was prooved wrong!  The Hygenist was very gentle and answered all of my questions effortlessly. The Dentist then read the x-ray and advised what needs to be done on few of my teeth. Made an appointment for the follow-up procedure before leaving.

    In my opinion, Dr. Steve is extremely nice. I just do not like some of his hygenists. Being a nervous patient, I was certain the hygenists would understand my being scared, as I kept telling them multiple times that I am a nervous patient to be calm and understanding with me, I was assured they would be. One experience I had with one of the hygenists, was cleaning my teeth with the power tartar remover and it kept getting too close to my gumline and it would also hurt. As a result I flinched more than once and the hygenists got angry with me and said "Well if you would brush more, we wouldn't be doing this!" uh, hello! I'm paying money for this service and this is how you treat me?? The woman at the front desk started out cordial and has increasingly every time I've been there gotten more and more rude to me. She isn't intrested in idle chit chat, she would rather schedule the appointments and get the money. Then when I went to pay my bill just the other day, I find out they carry no money to make change with?? What business doesn't have a little change in their office?? To say the least I am on my way to finding another dentist, I love Dr. Steve's chairside manner, he's fantastic, but his hygenists and receptionist are not that nice to me as a paying customer. My over all experience is a low C to a D. Sorry.

    This visit was an easy one for me. Only 1 cavity to fill and it was a smaller one (per the Dr). 
        I have been using this doc for about 3 years now. I have always gotten "right" in. Never more than a 3 min wait. That said, I have rarely seen other patients in the office. However, scheduling an appointment at the times I like is still "difficult". He does not have wierd hours. Does do Sat mornings. Rest of times are pretty normal.
        The chair is as comfortable as any dentistry chair. The room walls are nicely decorated, but the walls are 1970/80ish panel. I suppose it is not any worse than sterile white walls. I think a refresh of the wall material would be well taken.
        The doc is about average on efficiency. For such a short time of actual work, I was in the office for ~45min. (5min to get to room and "situate", 5 min to get the stuff, 20min to wait for the pain shot to work and poking around, 10min of fixing, 5min of killing time for an unknown reason.) It was the last 5min that made me think. I was ready to go, was sitting up on the chair about to walk out and the doc would hold me back with a "Wait, one more check at ...."
        Billing is easy. I usually just walk out. "We'll bill you if we need to." He charges $117 for a normal filling. Insurance knock it around a bit and I'm left with something much smaller. 
        The doc seems happy to take x-rays. Not sure if this is a money grab or what. My insurance will not cover all that x-raying.
        I'll be back. He is NOT a dental salesman. Does what is required and/or requested. Doesn't push treatments, procedures, etc. (I guess just takes a lot of x-rays).
