Blinds And Curtain reviews in Riverside

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • We've used Budget Blinds for the last 10 years and have recommended them to numbers family members, colleagues, and friends, until now.
We moved into a new house in June, 2014.  We, once again, hired Budget Blinds (Maris Walter, our sales person) to dress all the windows in the house. Like in the past, they came out, they gave us a consultation, and we wound up ordering $8,000K worth of window treatments.
Since June, here is what's happened.
    1. Two rooms of treatments were snagged and coming apart at the seams
    2. Wrong color and size of cords were installed
    3. Valances were measured incorrectly and needed to be reordered and installed
    4. We were told that it would take 3-4 weeks for the entire houses treatments to come in and we didn't receive everything until late November and still waiting on resolution on damaged treatments
    4. Our Main Living Room's treatments were installed in November and the installer and myself noticed small tears in the seams on all three windows.  Pictures were taken by the installation person and sent to my sales person.  She NEVER followed up or had anyone call us to acknowledge the problem or let us know what they were going to do to remedy the problem.
Finally, it's almost March and received a voicemail and email from my sales person's assistant.  Better late than never, I suppose.  She called to let me know that they wanted to take down one of the window treatments in our front room that was torn and send it back to the manufacturer.  In other words, remove a main treatment in a room where one full window would be bare and the others not.  Also, they still wouldn't let me know what was going to be done.  Would they fix the treatment? Not fix it? How long would a resolution take?  Will we go another eight months without resolution?
They also called to tell me that the wrong pull cords were in and ready to be installed.  To be honest, I've moved past this a long time ago.  The cords are the least of our problems.
To wrap up my review, I received an email from my sales person letting me know that they expect payment in full on all treatments.  I had paid in my invoice full other than the torn treatments in my front room, which I was waiting for them to resolve before I submitted payment.  They blamed the manufacturer with the delay on all these issues and would not take any blame for this entire nightmare and just treated me like someone who doesn't pay their bills in their final email.  All in all, over the last ten years, we've spent about $20,000 with Budget Blinds.  I think they know that we pay our bills.  I just don't pay for something that's damaged without resolution.
I will never use this company again nor recommend them to anyone I know.  Since this has happened, I've already heard from several people that they have ALSO had a horrible experience with this company.  I wish I would have asked around a bit more before hiring them again.  There are other companies out there that have better customer service and workmanship.  I think it's worth spending a little bit more money to get better products and customer service.

  • The service turned out fine. One technician came out for the service and did a very nice job. They were prompt and cleaned up after themselves. If there was a delay they made sure to let me know. Their pricing was fair compared to other companies. I would use the company again. I had no problem scheduling their service.

  • They arrived exactly when they said they would.  They had all their own tools and proceeded to get the job done quickly, efficiently and with no mess.  They were personable, knowledgable, and  took the time to explain what they needed to do and to also point out how I could do a few tasks I needed help with.  I will definitely be using them again.  Highly recommend!!

  • Tom and Rae were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout the process. I have an eat-in kitchen and do not have a dining room. The kitchen isn't tiny, but its layout in relation to windows and doorways somewhat limits design options. Rae came over initially to take measurements and show samples of custom cabinetry. She made suggestions for ways to optimize the space, helping me to make my cabinet selections quickly. The next evening, Rae, Tom, and their floor subcontractor, John, came over to go over cabinet details, take additional measurements, and develop a tentative schedule, based on the cabinets taking about five weeks to come in. Rae submitted renderings and an itemized estimate to me a day or two later. Rae and I discussed and finessed the design, and I submitted a down payment shortly thereafter. While we awaited delivery of the cabinets, I purchased floor tile and back splash tile online (with John's guidance and instructions on how much to purchase of each). I also purchased a faucet and accessories, light fixture, ceiling fan, range, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and over-the-stove microwave online, making sure to first check with Tom that my selections had measurements that fit with the cabinetry. Meanwhile, Rae coordinated my Corian counter and integrated sink selection with a company she and Tom use regularly. The cabinets were delivered in four weeks instead of the expected five, so tear-out and installation were started a week earlier than anticipated. Tom and Rae kept me apprised of the delivery date, and we coordinated the kitchen tear-out, floor installation, cabinet installation, appliance installation, and counter-top installation. All went like clockwork, with Tom and his expert installer Bryan paying attention to the last detail. My new kitchen is beautiful and functional. I highly recommend Tom and Rae for your kitchen remodeling.

  • Eric was professional, patient and willing to address all questions and concerns while determine the quote. There were specific issues regarding porch windows that required additional carpentry work to allow for reinstallation of recessed shades. He came up with a solution which worked perfectly. He also made it easy to understand the energy tax credit procedure and paperwork. They measured twice. The actually window installers were fantastic. The lead installer took obvious pride in his work and was extremely careful and thorough in installing the windows. There was a lot of extra interior framing to be done since I was replacing storms and screens with new energy efficient windows. To alleviate my anxiousness about the additional carpentry work needed on the porch he did a complete window inside and out for me to see to make sure the shades would work properly when installed later before he want on to do the rest of the work in his own way. He suggested a change in caulk color which made complete sense and which I hadn't thought about before and he answered any questions I had along the way in a clear and polite way-even at the end of the hot day when he was tired and probably just wanted to go home. The windows are beautiful and work perfectly. The men were very neat, clean up was great and the windows actually came in about 2 weeks earlier than expected. As an older single woman contracting for this kind of work it was very rewarding to find someone who was not condescending, who had a contractor who really took pride in his work, and would work with me on my concerns. I had replaced other windows in my house over the years with other companies and each year for the past two years got bids to replace my porch windows. Each time the bid was either very high, the contractor did not want to deal with the additional carpentry work, or I had a condescending attitude from the contractor that made me feel uncomfortable. Working with Eric was great. I intend to use his company again as I continue remodeling projects in my home. Hopefully his other workers will be as able and pleasant as the window installers. If you need windows, try this company.

  • It was a pleasure to work with Dante and Chona from start to finish. I contacted them based on Angie's List recommendations and my high expectations were more than met. I didn't even have a good idea of what I wanted to begin with, but Dante and Chona guided me through the process to help me come up with a successful plan. They were quite reasonable based on estimates I had had done by other places. The window treatments were delivered and installed on time and in an impeccable manner. They beautifully transformed my room!

  • Got an estimate for three rooms of custom drapery. While very professional and courteous, their estimate came in at nearly twice a comparable professional tailor/drapemaker.
