Lighting Installation reviews in Prospect Heights

    Neighborhood Remodelers
I couldnt be happier with the work done by Neighborhood Remodelers. They were extremely responsive and communicative throughout the entire process. Their workmanship and professionalism was outstanding. They quickly and accurately responded to all questions and were very flexible when it came to additions during the project. Their prices were fair and their price estimates were not only very accurate but also very transparent by providing a detailed breakdown of each item. They went above and beyond throughout the project to minimize inconvenience while renovating an entire condo with someone still living inside.

    Masters Kitchen & Bath
After vetting 9 different kitchen remodeling companies, I focused on working with Masters Kitchen and Bath. My first contact was with Marc Weiss, and then with Joe, the designer, and all the work less counter installation was done by Alin. Every aspect of our engagement deserves a 5 star rating for the level of professionalism, punctuality, patience, ideas, quality of work, and addressing of any final items to bring the job to closure. Work commenced on March 19, 2018, and 99% of the work was completed less some fine tune tweaking 4 weeks later which was exactly what Marc said would be the timeline. When I say patience, I mean Masters had patience. Before signing a contract with Masters, I spent approximately 12 hours with both Marc and Joe getting ideas (at one point Marc commented that working with me was "epic" and that still makes me chuckle), renderings of layout, and review of Masters various product lines. There was no pressure to sign a contract, no ushering me along, nor was any fee expected up-front before design work was initiated. When all was said and done, this complete kitchen remodel which included tearing out a pantry, relocating appliances, replacing lighting from hanging fixture style to canister, new flooring in both the kitchen and foyer, adding outlets, quartz counters, glass back splash, and installing above counter cabinets that reached the ceiling wasn't inexpensive at $33,000. However, Masters' pricing was highly competitive with the other venues, Home Depot being one, BUT the quality of the products offered and the attention to detail that Masters offered far exceeded the other venues' offerings. And Alin....what a GREAT installer. He kept the work site neat; no "oops" by way of anything being inadvertently damaged; a master of all trades including carpentry, electrical, tile, and plumbing. All of Alin's work was done precisely. By far working with Masters Kitchen and Bath has been the best experience I've had when undertaking a remodeling endeavor. I would work with them again in a heartbeat.

    AM Construction Services Inc.
Exceeded our expectations. The project was finished quicker than agreed to and changes along the way were incorporated without a problem. The price was certainly competitive and lower than other quotes. The cleanup was immaculate and quality of the finish was top notch. I'd hire them for any project without hesitation.

    ZEBRA REMODELING INC
Steve advised me on fixtures and details that I would buy, and accurately estimated what I might spend. He kindly rescheduled the start of the project to accomodate a family emergency, and when he did begin, the project ran smoothly from start to finish. Whenever some question arose, I was consulted. He understood from the beginning that I wanted a good, updated bathroom, but not something from a magazine. It turned out exactly as I had hoped. Their cleanup was conscientious, and all I had to do to clean in the adjacent room was dusting and vacuuming. I would hesitate to hire him again.

    Welter Home Services
Very pleased. Kevin and his helper worked quickly, were very neat, and offered solutions for several unexpected problems. I was particularly impressed with how they planned work so that they were able to move tools and equipment in and out of the house efficiently. Kevin was realistic about when he would be able to do the job, appeared when he said he would, did more than he actually planned to do, and gave detailed information about pricing.

    Blazer Electric Co

The job couldn't have been done better. Jack provided an estimate of cost and time needed to complete the job. On the day of the work he arrived on time and completed the work in the timeframe provided. He left the work areas immaculate and was very concerned that he didn't disturb anything in the work areas. He was easy to work with and I had a nice time talking to him as he worked.

I would highly recommend him for any electrical work.

    Honey Do Home-Tasking Inc
Needed a different part for the central vac that wasn't included and had to be ordered through a supplier. He found a supplier who could get it the next day and came back to finish the job at no extra charge. Unexpectedly diligent follow through.

    The Illuminators Outdoor Lighting
ld not have been more pFrom my first call to the installation this company could not have been more responsive and professional. They promptly came out to see the job and give me a quote. Followed up to see if I had any question. Revised the qyoute for some changes I wanted to make and scheduled the install. They arrived today right on time, reviewed the location of all lights and did the install. They use quality products/ The crew was polite, anxious to please and  as they were leaving told my wife that if there were any issues we should call and they would return to fix the problem. Could not have been more pleased.

    Regency Home Remodeling

We had a great experience working with Bruce and his crew.  Bruce was thorough in documenting the proposal.  He came on site as needed and was always very reachable (mostly email, which works well for me, and also by phone).  Prior to meeting Bruce, we had hired an Amish cabinet maker to make and install the kitchen cabinets as well as someone to install wood floors in the family room and kitchen and re-finish the wood floor throughout the first floor.  Bruce was fine with having these other contractors involved (unlike some others who would not even quote us if they did not do the job from start to end).  His crew arrived on time and cleaned up after themselves.  They even went above and beyond - for instance, hauling away old lumber that the floor guy had left in our garage.  Whenever something unexpected occurred (as is inevitable), we always worked through it in a constructive manner.

They demolished the existing kitchen - removed the cabinets, took out the ceiling and about half the walls, and removed the linoleum flooring.  They installed a new floor base (plywood had to be cut and laid around the conduit running in the floor), ran the electrical (all hard piped conduit, including a new circuit to the electrical panel), moved plumbing and gas supplies, painted, installed the lighting, installed the appliances, and laid the backsplash tile.  Bruce and Murek (electrician) were very patient in working through the electrical layout - can lights, pendant light for the island, light over the table, under cabinet lighting, location and type of switches, etc...

We decided to have a few of the old cabinets along with the double oven installed in the basement (we conveniently had a 220 line in the basement) and Bart (head of the crew) did an excellent job fitting the cabinets around all the water and sewer pipes.  They also added a layer of drywall to the family room (as we had removed the paneling) and installed the new wood trim (casing, baseboard, shoe, and crown moulding).  I am quite particular about wood trim and Greg (who installed the wood trim) let me work with him so that I could pick the nicest trim for the main rooms and use the not-so-nice trim inside the closets (for example, heavily grained).

It was great that Bruce had contacts at various suppliers where we could get a discount.  (Although we did find better pricing on the countertop through a different source.)

In general, one thing I really appreciated was that the crew would ask questions when there was an option on how to do something.  If they found something that needed fixing, they took care of it.  If we found something, they took care of it right away as well.  Because of this, we really didn't have a "punch list" at the end.  We would definitely use them again for future projects.  Our 1960's kitchen is now updated and gorgeous thanks to Bruce and his terrific crew!
