    Kitchen & Bath Specialties
Having dealt with other contractors previously, I'm more than satisfied with the professionalism and promptness of the company, and Joe's willingness as well to ensure that I was happy with the finished product. I may very well hire, and his people again!

    Vance Remodeling and Restoration
Jim was prompt, easy to work with, and very hard working. Though his resume does not show it, he is a skilled carpenter. He found creative solutions to the many challenges, while being considerate of our budget. His finish and detail work is excellent. Examples, installing along brick edge of fireplace, installing new floor registers, creating invisible transitions, disguising alterations to a kitchen cabinet. We greatly appreciated his sensitivity to our living conditions (we have dogs who are part of the family) during this disruptive project. We will be hiring Jim to do additional work as soon as our budget allows. Be aware, Jim can sometimes be difficult to contact prior to beginning work.

    Better Way Siding & Windows
My husband hired this company; they required a hefty deposit to confirm the work; then was nearly unresponsive when it came to scheduling the work.  finally showed up and started working away; it seemed odd that there was not dumpster delivered for the roof tear off; checked and they had installed rafters OVER the old roof. Those then had to be removed and the old roof had to be torn off as was in the contract.  this was a flat roof that was to have a rubber membrane installed.  the BRAND NEW membrane they installed was too short and they had to patch it.  Leaked; they patched it again..Leaked.  My husband hired them again to install siding and replacement windows and when they returned to do that work they patched it again (we went ahead and repaired the drywall damage to the ceiling ourselves)  it has finally stopped leaking for now.  I rated them C for professionalism as they actually did return to try and fix the leak-would have been better if they would have realized their error in the first place and re-ordered a membrane that fit. We now have a brand new roof...with patches on it.  :(

Really, really happy with it.  Honesty and questions answered.  Easy going people with a job to do just went at it and completed it.  They apologized (unneeded) for taking so long and I told them I never expected them to be gone at 4 PM.  Came at 8 AM and left at 830 PM.  A lot of work was done very well.  Now, when I want a fire, I just press a button.

    Precise Repair & Remodel
We had a great experience with Scott. He took the time to explain things and he listened to what we wanted. Very easy to work with. Ours was a many-layered project. Project took a little longer because I spent a lot of time researching and choosing all the finishes and I purchased and stained all the trim myself. He was very patient and found work elsewhere for a few days or weeks until I was ready for him to proceed. Always has his crew clean up the job site at the end of the day. Very impressed with his attention to detail and craftsmanship!

    David A Graze Carpentry
Well this job turned out to be bigger than we first believed it to be, because it turned out the people who built my addition  upstairs in the attic just butchered everything from the ceiling joists to the plumbing.  But to Dave's credit he took this all in stride as he has seen this type of crummy work before.  He took the time to walk me and my wife through what needed to be fixed and what needed to be replaced.  He was even dead on for the cost of materials.   After my wife and I had been apprised of the problems, he built a new joist system to support  the upstairs bathroom, ran new plumbing to the basement.  He even figured out a way to make my moveable dishwasher permanent!!!  Ran electrical to new areas in the kitchen.  He hung the drywall on the ceiling, put the hot patch on the wall where the iron pipe to the basement had been for the plumbing.  He then tore out the old hardwood floor, painted the kitchen, put down Duroc and tiled the floor.  He then hung all the kitchen cabinets and installed new floor cabinets, counter, and sink.  Dave is a very well mannered person.  I don't think I heard him mutter one cuss word the whole time he was on the job.  He was willing to teach if you wanted to learn how to do the work.  He was honest and was easy to negotiate prices with.  I will most definitely be using him to remodel my bathroom.  Dave just rocked the whole job!!

    Precise Repair & Remodel
The guys at Precise Repair and Remodeling did a great job of accomplishing what we wanted.  They did so in a professional way, cleaned up after themselves, and were easy to work with.  I plan on working with them again in the future.

    Vance Remodeling and Restoration
When looking for someone to do some mid-level remodeling in my kitchen, I looked on Angie's List for some referrals. I read a review on Jim Vance and contacted him. He was able to come to my house in a day or two to provide a quote. The work he did was very good; he had suggestions along the way for improvement, some of which I hadn't even thought of! I found him to be very personable, professional, had reasonable rates, reliable and honest...all of which is extremely important when working with a stranger. His labor cost did not go over budget but my material costs did slightly...which was expected. Also, he was very clean (his person and his work style) and respectful of my home/kids/dog and cleaned up after himself before leaving each day. I was extremely pleased and plan on using his services again for an even bigger jobs!

    Messing Construction Co
We own an older home that took some good damage from the recent storms. Messing Construction came out immediately, gave us a price on the spot, and made temporary repairs to the roof to stop the leak. They were not able to get the insurance adjusters to pay for a whole new roof. We paid a small repair charge and their price was higher than a few of the bids we received. We were worried about the funny sounding name, but their professionalism and timeliness told us everything we needed to know. The exterior work went great and we decided to have them patch the ceiling in our kitchen too. Quality work and gosh they are hard workers!

    Hadden Builders Inc
Do NOT buy or have Hadden Builders or anyone associated with them, build your home. I highly recomend that anyone purchasing a new home (new construction) make sure that it is gone over by a fine tooth comb with both building inspectors and another neutral party to inspect the overall craftmanship. Also, I would suggest at closing you get a 2 year warranty in writing and have a lawyer involved from the beginning.
