Matt and Austin did a phenomenal job . They were right on time and worked long hours to complete right on schedule. Quality of work is top notch and couldn't be happier. Price was reasonable and of the few I initially contacted they were only one to call me back. Highly recommended

    A-1 Concrete
Contractor, Daniel L Converse doing business as A 1 Concrete, was supposed to pour 30 x 32 garage floor slab and finish to a "burnt finish". The finished floor was left with concrete creme slush slung and dried across the top of the floor in numerous areas. Area by floor drain left very rough. Area where radiant heat tubing exits floor left uneven and not troweled. The slab was to be sloped 1 1/2" towards the drain and yet I have a puddle of water (Approx 5' diameter) sitting on the slab at the east garage door. The floor perimeter line is grossly uneven (WAVY) up to 2". I checked it with a laser. I had to call the contractor several times in order for him to fix the floor surface. Contractor complained that he had to spend money on grinding the floor surface. They left grind marks (circles) in the slab surface where the grinder was stationary while grinding. I had to apply two coats of floor Epoxy to adequately seal the floor and make it look fairly presentable. The contractor was initially paid $300 to seal floor and did not do so, he said he would refund $300 and has not done so and it's been almost 3 months. The contractor refuses to answer his phone or texts. The contractor said he would furnish an invoice for the amount of $5500.00. (This includes material and labor). I have not seen an invoice yet. Here is the chain of events that transpired: 1. Dan (A 1 Concrete) came out and estimated the job and WAS told it would have radiant heat in floor, (He will tell you that he was NOT told it was going to have radiant heat), and it really doesn't make much difference anyway, it's all poured the same way. Ask any concrete contractor that KNOWS how to pour and finish concrete. 2. They showed up at 8:30 am with five guys and no 20' concrete extension chute (which then took them about 1.5 hours to go get) 3. The finisher freaked out about "No risers under the mesh re-enforcement. I had to tell them that you don't put risers under the mesh, because then you can't walk on it. I had to tell them to pull the mesh up as you pour. (All reputable contractors do it this way). 4. If they didn't want to pour it, they should have told me. 5. They didn't start pouring until around noon. 6. They had the concrete truck driver put so much water in the mix, it came out like "Water / Soup", this way they wouldn't have to work so hard in "Pulling" the mix to the back of the garage. 7. By pouring the mix so thin, the contractor was unable to keep the slab perimeter line even, hence the "Wavy Lines". 8. By pouring the mix so thin, and pouring late, they should have realized that it's going to take a lot longer to finish and that they would be there late. 9. Later I was told by Dan Converse (Owner), "My finisher fessed up that he went for a few beers with my brother while the concrete was setting up". I can't even begin to express what a nightmare this has been from the start and it's still not over. Moral of this story....... DO A BACKGROUND CHECK ON FLY-BY-NIGHT CONTRACTORS ... or people that call themselves contractors and give the word "Contractor" a bad name!

    J LEMKEMANN CONCRETE CONSTR CO
I prepared the base prior (gravel and leveling of ground) to the crews arrival. They formed, poured, finished, and later came back to remove the concrete forms. Poured about 300 square feet of pad. Excellent work, John did exactly what I had asked for and I plan to hire again for the next phase of the patio.

    Ed Conlee Sons Concrete Inc
They weren't the cheapest bid but they were the best. He took his time measuring and surveying the area so they could contain and manage the water flow away from our house and garage. We met twice to go over details before they started just to make sure we were all on the same page. Fantastic job. Workers were here early and did an amazing amount of work in just a few days. It rained heavily the 1st evening after things had been torn up delaying completion by a day . We had to have the slabs sloped away from the house and garage because of flooding. We also did away with steps into our home and now have a beautiful sloped and curved walk to our driveway. The first day after completion we had a major rain event and water just shot out of our new drain! The garage stayed dry. I am thrilled with how the entire project has enhanced the look of our home. I would highly recommend this company.

Ed Conlee and Sons removed and replaced our driveway and approach summer of 2014.  While pouring the driveway the twenty percent chance of rain quickly turned into a 100 percent.  Mark told me he thought they got the driveway covered up in time but winter would be the test.  This winter the driveway started peeling up.  I called Mark this spring ( 2015) and he came over to look at the driveway.  He said because it rained so hard so quickly more water had got on the driveway than they figured, before they could get it covered up.  There is no way to fix the driveway so they would replace it.  In May they were back and took out the driveway again and poured a new one at no cost to me.  Both times they were professional, showed up early in the morning went right to work and cleaned up their work areas when they were done.

The difference is amazing. They replaced our mom's very crumbly steps and also poured a new sidewalk. We can now actually use the sidewalk because it's not halfway under the overgrown shrubs! Mark was prompt in getting back to me, unlike the other company I called. He was easy to work with. He had some good ideas, but he didn't push anything. The work was done on time, just as he said, and it looks beautiful! We're very, very happy with this, from start to finish. I highly recommend!

They removed all the old and hauled it away, poured new concrete and finished it beautifully. Done in one day. Came back next day and removed all the forms and replaced sod that had been removed for the project. We love the result and would highly recommend them.

Mark and his crew are some of the hardest working guys we've ever seen. Concrete work is hot and hard, and Mark and his crew worked 110% to get it done. They work very well together - all knowing what each other had to do. We had them pour a new driveway for us about 6 years ago, and their work was excellent then too. No complaints - just praises.

These guys were excellent.  They had the appropriate equipment to make the job go smoothly and efficiently.  They were very professional and pleasant.  I had to leave for an appointment prior to them finishing.  They finished and secured the area as I requested.  They even carried the items that were removed from the garage to accomodate the equipment, back into my garage.  They thought it might start raining before I got back home and didn't want my items to get rained on.  I totally did not expect them to do that.  They also cleaned up afterwards.  My garage floor was cleaner than it was when they started! I should also state the location of this project was difficult to accomodate the equipment and they did a great job, was very cautious etc.  I would definately use this company again.  Regarding the price, they were very open and honest regarding the costs, the affect gas prices have on the cost etc.  They were also very mindful of the affect on neighbors, they made sure they cleaned up even out in the street.

We have been trying to get some other remodeling. When w were having the stairs fixed - this winter kind of was brutal on them. We are having some other concrete work done so we wondered if we should just wait and get it all done at the same time.

They've been really nice. They have called to check in with us to see if there's anything else we need. And we have just been trying to say that we are waiting to see what's best for everybody around. We haven't done any work with them but as far as quotes and things, they came out.

I think if we are going to do our stairs we are going to have them do it just because they came out, they gave us a really good, and they've been touching base with us to see where we are. Not hounding us but following up.
