Carpet Installation reviews in Peoria

    Ron's Carpet, Inc
Ron's Carpet is one of those all too rare businesses. They are local people that appear to be proud of the business they have created. Their showroom is in a low rent area, off the usual retail path\, so you have to know about them to find them. The effort is worth it. Very competitive prices and a great selection in a chock full of product showroom. This was a small job, and the installers arrived and did the job as expected, then left the place clean. I couldn't ask for anything better.

    Vance Remodeling and Restoration
We contacted Jim and another contractor after reviewing comments on Angie's list. We decided to contract the work with Jim after doing a walk through with him. His comments and suggestions made us feel like we could trust him to do whatever was needed to update our 1960's home. We thought his quote was reasonable when we compared it to the other contractor.
Jim started on our job right away and juggled his schedule to meet most of our needs. We didn't have the kitchen cabinets ordered when he started, but he did the demolition and electrical work so that the plastering could be scheduled. He even worked a Sat & Sun to be ready for them. We knew going in that he would be starting another lengthy job so  there was a little delay once the cabinets did arrive but we anticipated that. He juggled work between the two jobs to our satisfaction. I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, but it worked for us because we wanted to do most of the painting ourselves.
Jim also helped find us an electrician to replace the outdated panel we had. Along with this replacement, Jim helped pull old
wiring that we found in the basement area (a DIY job from the previous owner) and installed new lights and outlets in this area.
Even though we were not living in the house during the remodel, Jim and crew were good about cleaning up at the end of each day. We had already painted and carpeted the rest of the house, so we appreciated not having dirt everywhere.
We would recommend Jim's work and will contact him in the spring to get a quote on a deck we're planning.

    Ralph's Floor Fashions
We were only in town for a couple of days and we needed the carpeting replaced ASAP. We originally wanted laminate wood floor, but Ralphs does not stock any. We showed the sales person a sample of the carpet color and style that we wanted but again, he had nothing in stock to match it. He did show us his remnant area where we found a single piece that was close to the size and style we wanted. he was able to install two days after we Purchased which fit our schedule perfectly. All in all, they gave us excellent and professional service. My only concern was that the price was about 20% too high. Realistically, this installation had no furniture moving, used a one piece remnant with no seams to glue, and had no special cut outs for closets. He gave us fast service and did a good job...for this I gave him an "A". I would use him again, but only if his price was competitive.

    Ron's Carpet, Inc
Mark the salesman was very helpful. The installers 3 people father/ son and another person were punctual and efficient. But they did not clean up after them self's. I spent a hour cleaning the the threads of carpet they left behind. The only other issue I have with Ron's is that I wish they had weekend hours.

    Ron's Carpet, Inc
Three workers arrived on time on the date that was scheduled.. The first day they removed carpeting from the living room, dining room, one bedroom and the hallway. Then installed the carpeting in those areas. Came back the next day and removed carpeting and installed new carpeting in the remainder of the house. They were very professional and courteous.

Would recommend them to family, friends and neighbors.

    Sutton Carpet Center
A salesperson came to the house at the correct appointment time and measure and gave me an estimate for the work.  Two weeks later, the first installer came to do the bathroom, which was on a Friday, then on Monday he came back to install the flooring in the kitchen.  He took my transition pieces of hardwood back to the store to be modified for the entry ways.  While he was measuring, he stated he wasn't sure how to even measure them to be cut, but said he would be back by the end of the week to install the last pieces.  In the meantime, one of the employees called and asked me to pay for the work.  I agreed to pay 1/2 down and then the balance upon completion.
The following week a different man came and tried to fit the pieces in to finish the flooring, however, they were not cut right so he re-measured and said they would have to have new pieces made and they should be done in about three days.  He also was not sure on how to measure them, so he called a co-worker to double check, the co-worker came, had booze on his breath and then urinated on my bathroom floor, didn't even ask me if he could use my bathroom.
A few days later the second guy came to fit the pieces, low and behold only two of the three fit, and I had to supply some fir strips, because he didn't bring any, otherwise it would have taken another hour and that was after he modified them again at my home, where he cut them again on my driveway, he did not even clean up the mess he made. He installed what he could and then re-measured the third piece to be cut again.  Then one of the salespersons called me and said there would be an extra $90.00 charge since I didn't like how it looked and for a new piece to be made.  I told him, I was not paying an extra $90
because, it was a mistake on their part, not mine.  He said well you know that we have to pay $30.00 for another piece of hardwood and we also have additional labor for the guy to put it in again.  What a joke!  Their mistake and wanting me to pay for it.
He came back again with the third piece the next day and fit it, then asked if he could install it and put the poly- coating on it while it was down, I did not want that smell in my house so I told him he would have to take it back to the shop to finish it and then come out again to install it.
In the mean time I received THREE phone calls from Suttons asking for me to pay the balance.  I explained to them the first time that I never pay for a job in full until the work is completed and satisfactory. One of them said that the work was almost complete and he felt I should pay.  But I didn't.
Today, the third guy showed up and installed the hard wood strip, just to find out that it was about 1/4 inch or so too short, which I had to point out to him, he said he didn't notice it.  So he took another piece and cut a 1/4 inch piece and stuffed it in the hole. After he was done he asked me if he could use the bathroom, once again the same guy that urinated on my floor the first time urinated on the floor again.  All in all the floors look okay, but a total of six trips including the first estimate and the way they were so anxious to collect their money before the job was done....and a job that isn't as professional looking as I would have liked, but I am done with it  I would not recommend them now...20 years ago Yes, not now.  I even recommended them to my mother before they did my work, and they did a good job, but she has seen what happened here, and she said she wouldn't recommend them either.  During all this time there were five different people to my house and some of them, not looking to be people I felt comfortable with having in my house, wondering if they are of up standing character, and thru my whole house, in my opinion, I would look around else where

    Dreams To Reality
The room was built quickly, painted, carpeted and ready to go very quickly. The job was done extremely well and they were very nice people to have working on my house. I will be in need of a roof soon and these will definitely be my top pick!

    Steam Green Carpet Cleaning
We used them one time in April.  Our house was occupied by renters and they unplugged our sump pump so there was water in the basement.  The carpet needed to be ripped off.  I think they were very nice.  It was an emergency situation so we could not compare the price.  They were very professional.

He repaired our deck which was really bad, and he did a great job. We had some ugly little spindles in the front of our house and he cut those down and he made a railing. That worked out really well. He has done many things and he has done very good work for us. He is very thorough and very diligent. He was hired in July when we had some carpeting. He asked some other guy to come and do it. That guy didn't show up and he came right over and did it himself. His price is very good and he is very professional. We are planning to use him again. I got him off Angie's List.

    Baysingar Flooring
Mr. Baysingar was on time at 8:00am sharp he brought the prepaid carpet from a big chain store that we had picked out in advance he unloaded his materials and tools and began an inspection of the floor for complications then started repairing 2 unforeseen problems at no expense to myself ... floor leveling issues then installed the bedrooms carpets and finished the hallway seams to connect the two I would say he was fast but I kept asking questions and talking to him while he worked he was friendly and answered every question if I had left him alone he would have finished early ... he finished a few minutes after the original estimate and even subdivided the bill for me and my roommate
