Hospital Care reviews in Park Ridge

The last thing someone should worry about when going to the hospital or seeing a doctor is the safety of their vehicle. While parked in the valet section of the parking garage at Lutheran General Hospital, I had an altercation with an employee of First Class Valet contracted by Lutheran General Hospital. When I returned to my vehicle, my passenger side doors were keyed. The incident was later reported to patient relations at the hospital which then communicated my grievance to First Class Valet. They were quick to pawn off all responsibility to First Class Valet. Never once did they deny the damage or indicate that the valet employee was questioned. Once the information was given to First Class Valet, patient relations stopped returning my phone calls and hid behind emails. I would have expected higher standards and greater accountability from Lutheran General Hospital. I guess not.

They were good caring people and the doctors were very good. Everybody was very good and my father was dying so they made me feel very comfortable and my father was comfortable too all the way to the end. They are a great hospital and I would go there anytime. They are very good. They have a great place and I can't say enough about them. The doctors and nurses had good bedside manner. There was nothing they could do for my dad but they tried so hard.

The nurses and nurses assistants were great - very caring and capable. The doctors were also good, but hard to find and talk to. The frustrating part was that there was NOT good communication between the various levels of care. The doctors did not leave specific instructions with the nurses, which led to confusion and wrong information being given to us, and many changed decisions on short notice. It was at times very frustrating...

Overall, I have had a good experience with them. However, there were some glitches. I wouldnt rate them completely high in every area. I feel their communication and testing process could show improvement. They gave me a recommendation to an orthopedist that was actually for pediatrics. They essentially discharged me. My wife was getting the car, and I was out in a wheelchair with crutches. One of the nurses came running and said that they wanted to do a CAT scan on my vertebrae. It was annoying, and it turned out that they had planned it ahead of time. We spent 2 hours extra because of that. They did find a hairline crack. I was pleased with how easy it was to sign in and sign out. They were very punctual. It took a while to get the x-ray, but not a lot of time. They are a primary level trauma center that is conveniently located.

We arrived at the hospital and went to the first check-in and was called in right away. Then we went to the 2nd area and waited in that check-in. They called us and we both went in the bed area where they had everything set out for my husband. They came back and did some checking of vital signs and answered all our questions. They took him away and I went back in the waiting room. Twenty minutes later, it was over and they called me back in to stay with my husband. He came out of the drugs they gave him, just like they said he would. After he was dressed they told me to get the car and they wheeled him out to the car and helped him in.

The emergency room is very good. The wait is appropriate. They are very attentive and they listen. They make you feel at ease and let you know what is going on. They keep the patient in mind even when they are in a lot of pressure.

As scarry as the experience was, they did great. They monitored my wife for all the right things, and then made the right decision to deliver the baby via C-section when he needed it. THey were responsive, and responsible. They are providing ongoing care at the NICU and could not be better. Very nice, informative. I would not want our son anywhere else.

The staff at Luthern are very caring and accommodating. They are very professional. They plan ahead and they are very informative. They are always prepared. We have had nothing but pleasurable experiences with them.

Very well. We had a scheduled c-section planned, but alas, the baby decided to come a day early. When we arrived at the hospital - kind of panicked, the staff was great about admitting my wife and getting the process going immediately. After the surgery, the care from the nurses was really exceptional. We didn't have such a positive experience at the hospital where we delivered our first child, and were expecting similar. We, my wife especially, were very thankful it was not. All the nurses were very patient and took time to explain everything, answer questions, and help the entire process.

They are amazing, and their bedside manner is wonderful. They are attentive, caring, patient and all around wonderful. My only complaint then would be the time it took to get from one area in the hospital to the other was way to long. But they have improved vastly since then. I highly recommend this hospital for births.
