    Anix Inc
Joe did a great job. We love the garage and the service we received. Most things were handled by Joe, with only a few things contracted out. Joe supervised even the work that was contracted out. This was an unusual job, requiring a change in the original foundation of our home. Joe was always available to give suggestions and ways to work around constraints of the village to complete the project to our satisfaction. Additionally, we needed some things done that were not in the original plans. Joe worked with us, the architect, and the village zoning board to get everything approved and finished in the shortest amount of time possible. We were especially pleased as Joe built with standards surpassing the village requirements, in a number of areas. He also returned several times after the project was finished to fix little things - even a couple of things that were damaged by others after the project was completed. I would definitely recommend Anix to family and friends looking for a full-service contractor.

Bob came to our house for a quote, listened to what we wanted and offered his suggestions. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He also gave us a very detailed quote including concrete, different garage door options, security light options, etc. The other companies we called just gave a ballpark estimate over the phone, but he spelled out every detail, which was appreciated. In the end we decided just to make some repairs to our current garage, but if we need to replace it in the future I would definitely give them a call back first.

Ray and his crew framed a new house I'm building and as a long time general contractor/home builder, I know quality work when I see it. This is it. Couldn't be happier and looking forward to working with Ray on the next project

    Danley's Garage World
We hired Danley's to wreck our existing garage and build another one in a different part of our property. This was seriously one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a contractor.
To start, there was not just one contact here. I had to deal with every individual sub-contractor myself, Danley's did not deal with any of them. Our brick garage was demolished in Fall 2014. We were left with a terrible mess of a yard, but that was somewhat expected  considering they demolished a garage. We were scheduled for April 2015 to have our new garage built. I finally got someone at Danley's to get back to me end of May. The pad was poured at the beginning of June. The sub-contractor that poured the concrete also left a huge mess. They got concrete all over my paved driveway and all over my brand new cedar fence. When I complained, they came and cleaned up some of their mess. Next phase was garage build. I hounded Danley's with emails and phone calls. Probably 3 dozen in all before they finally scheduled the garage build. It was finally put up at the beginning of August. I had signed a contract with a special scalloped siding for the gable. When they showed up to build the garage they did not have the scalloped siding or the garage door! The garage door was put on maybe a week later after more emails. Then the scalloped siding was delivered a week later, and they had ordered the wrong siding AGAIN! The garage was finally finished about mid-September after  about another 2 dozen emails and phone calls, all unanswered. They finally finished because in my last email I threatened to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After all the complaints and everything, I didn't even get an apology. Just a call telling me I needed to pay my bill that they didn't send me. They didn't even discount anything.
All in all, I thought $15,000 was the best price I'd found so I would go with them. There was an additional $1300 charge from the concrete company because they poured more concrete than what was on the contract. My beautiful fence and paved driveway was ruined. It took nearly 4 months to complete and dozens and dozens of calls/emails to complete. And not an apology or anything. In fact, Danley's keeps calling me to sign me up for more work. Yea right. I would never use this company again! The end result is nice, but it was more hassle than it was worth and it ended up being more expensive than the other company that seemed much more professional in hindsight. Taught me not to just go with the best price.

icWe were very disappointed in this contractor. We chose him because he was local and had strong family ties to the community. He came to our home to talk about a major home renovation project. Took measurements for a window we wanted to install and said he would be in touch. This was the last we heard from him. Has ignored  calls from both my husband and myself. Would definitely NOT refer him  due to this. Not returning calls is major poor business practice.

They finished the job in June or July. They were wonderful and communication was outstanding. There's a crack in the concrete, they came back, they followed up and they're trying to resolve it. They're just wonderful. It took longer than expected but that wasn't their fault, it's the town that we live in like getting the permits for the garage, like trying to see the president. I would use them again if I had to build another garage.

    Regency Garages
Update 2014: - 2 years after building this garage, the fill Regency used is/was AWFUL and not "clean fill".  We are still digging up ceramic tile, glass pieces and even a child's bracelet this past week. The yard will never be decent dirt. We paid so much for this garage and Regency didn't do right by us at all. I would caution people to BEWARE.
Original review: Quality of standard materials like door, doorknob, lockset and exterior light are very poor. The new concrete garage parking pad is not sloped properly and water pools inside. Brought in disgusting fill when we relocated the garage to a new area in the yard. The fill had road TAR in it along with lots of broken ceramic tile, glass and it was mostly clay. I know there is a lot of clay in IL but this material didn't match the rest of the soil in our yard. Lord only knows where it came from and where our good soil went!
Rich lied to us directly about his worker applying sealer to the concrete when we planned to have a polyasparitic coating applied. Poor communication - instead of telling us he was sending his worker out to apply the concrete sealer, the worker just showed up and started spraying the sealer. When I called  Rich to ask what the worker was applying, he said it was to slow down the concrete curing process due to the summer heat, yet when I explained that we were going to have the floor coated, the worker was "caught" washing off the stuff he just applied! If it was a product to slow the concrete cure, then WHY would he wash it off? Rich promised to regrade our back yard and then said he couldn't b/c the city wouldn't let him do so. Promised one thing to get the job and didn't deliver after he secured the job, no price adjustments either.  Rich also promised to paint the window trim to match the LP smartside but instead painted trim to match the Hardy fiber cement board. We didn't bother to remind him this, we just wanted him out of our yard. The garage took 3 months to build. They started demolition in May and it wasn't finished until August. The garage also failed the final city building inspection!! Regency never contacted us to resolve it. They don't seem to care much about reputation once they have your money. Overall, the garage turned out "nice enough" but if we had to do it over, WE WOULD NOT HIRE Regency again.

The Basement Men & The Concrete Man
The project went just about perfectly. The guys arrived on time at exactly 7:30am every day. You could practically set your watch by it. They work extremely quickly - the amount of progress they make in a day is really amazing. It was actually difficult for us to keep up with them in terms of design decisions hardware selection, etc. Just as importantly, they cleaned up after themselves every day - once they were gone you would hardly know they were there. The workmanship is great and everything is very solid. In the basement, they did a great job with the acoustical challenges and the new room is virtually soundproof. The kids can easily play games or watch TV down there, even at loud volumes, and nothing can be heard in the room directly above. The work on the bathrooms was also great - they not only did what we asked, the brought some good creative ideas, and also were not afraid to tell us when there was a better way to do something. I referred them to my sister, and they did an equally good job on her basement - I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We hired Steve and his crew based on a recommendation from a friend, and the price was very fair - we definitely felt like we got our money's worth!

    Regency Garages
Fabulous Job! I spoke with four companies and I found Regency to be a cut above. To me the most important aspect of garage construction is pouring a solid concrete foundation. Because Rich has prior background in concrete construction,I felt very comfortable going with Regency and was pleased with the outcome. In Chicago a perimeter footing is not required for a garage and the other companies tried to talk me out the extra effort, but Rich acknowledged that it was important and did it for just a few hundred dollars more. He also took on a few other extra's at a very reasonable price: He poured a new slab for may garbage cans, he built/reinstalled fences on both sides of the garage (which other companies would not do), and he repaired two large holes in my basement floor which I had left over from a plumbing job. As a home and property owner, I work with quite a few contrators on a regular basis. Seldom do I find one as accomodating and professional as Regency Garage! Keep up the Good Work!

    Danley's Garage World
No problems, but a few issues during the process. We got a firm quote and thought we wouldn't have to do a lot of work on our end. They removed our old garage, but later told us that we had to remove a stump at an additional charge. They should have included this in the price. After the teardown, I basically became the GC. I had to call the concrete guys, city inspectors, framers, and electricians. They appear to just sell the job and farm everything out.
