Fireplace Repair reviews in Park Ridge

Very well. Technician confirmed the chimney was clean, no obstruction, and he "disconnected" the mechanism that held the flue door open - because the mechanism was only allowing it to partially open. Once we could open that door 100% the smoke backup problem went away.

When the provider arrived, I attempted to explain the reason for our call and the issues we were having.  I was treated very rudely by him, was dismissed and basically told he knew what to do and did not want to hear what I had to say.  I was appalled!!  My husband was sitting there and heard the entire exchange.  He acted as if he was mad, was hurried, and did not want to be here.  I also just had to clean the floor and rug in front of my fireplace because there was soot on both. He did not take care to cover my rug or the floor.
I engaged this provider based on all the positive reviews, but will not use him again.  If he did not want to perform my service or I was out of the way, or whatever the issue was, he should not have made the appointment.
I am very upset about this experience!!  I have never been treated so rudely by someone who I am paying to perform a service!!

Requested that the chimney be cleaned and expected mortor to be replaced in firebox.   Service man came alone and had me helping him do his job because he came out alone, and then attempted to sell me thousands of dollars of upgrades to the chimney.   Might as well have the thing rebuilt for the cost quoted.   All i wanted was the box cleaned and the mortor replaced.  He claimed that he needed to come back with another person to fill in mortor in the firebox.   Basically I paid service rep to come out and sell me services I didn't request.   Will look for another vendor in the future.

Ron and his team did a great job and at a significantly better price than other quotes I received.  They were prompt, got the work done quickly, and were responsive to my feedback.  I was impressed with how quickly they were able to restore our basement to a usable space, coming in much quicker than I expected.  Ron's company was the only one that was also able to quote me all of the various projects I needed to have done.
Overall I am very happy with the work performed and would hire Harmonious Decorating & Remodeling again.

Northwest Metalcraft did a great job with my fireplace.  I had an old brick fireplace which they refaced with ledgestone and converted it from wood burning to gas.  They ran a gas line and inserted the new setup with stones and logs and also put on a new door.  I had a great experience with the company and would highly recommend.  They came out and completed all the work in one day and were very clean.  I am very happy with the look of the new fireplace it has updated our entire family room!

We first contacted Joe and Tony because several friends had used them for similar projects and they had a great experience.
We have been living in our home for 20 years and besides the fact that we decided to install a heated driveway we also wanted to update the exterior. It was originally UNILOCK but was one for the first bricks they ever made. It was old and worn.  We  called Dan, he came out and met with us, he listened to what  we wanted to accomplish, which was, a new driveway, patio, fire pit, built in grill, walkways, landscape lighting, new landscaping, extend downspouts, and correct some drainage issues.  He then developed a landscape plan with a VERY cool 3D video showing us exactly what it would look like once installed.  He worked with us on several modifications till we had what we wanted. Then he met with us at a local Nursery to select trees,
shrubs, brick color and types  etc.  He actually met us several times AND even brought out samples till we were certain of what we wanted.
He never rushed us but always pointed us in the right direction AND kepted us moving forward.  While we were going through this process, Joe and Tony was  getting permits with City of Park Ridge. Which involved us getting a new Plat of Survey, which Dan lined up for us, he handled the whole thing. His professionalism made the entire design process seamless. Once we had all that lined up the project actually got  started.  We were worried as it was getting late in the season but Dan and his team worked together with our Heating company (remember heated driveway and walkways) and coordinated every step of the way. They showed up every day, worked clean and all his guys were polite and pleasure to work with.  Dan always stopped by to check on them.  As expected on a project of this scale issues came up and we discussed them and they quickly resolved them. Dan pointed out several things that made sense to address that we never would have thought of.  Some at my cost and some at their cost, but always very fair. There were some extras but nothing that i didn't ask for or couldn't be foreseen.  In the end we got more than we expected and are currently enjoying an incredible yard.  You can't go wrong with these guys.

On 1/14 we used the fireplace for the first time after their repair. After the the fire, the damper would not close again, demonstrating exactly the same problem we hired Early Times to fix.  We called them and reported the problem and they stated that the technician stated on the bill that there was "no warranty" on  the work and they would charge us again to fix. Claimed that there was no way to put the damper back on track in a way that would work without the risk of it coming misaligned again. Again proposed that we have a new damper installed for $490.

Very dissatisfied with their work. If they intended to perform work without any warranty, they should have advised to that effect when we called them and we would have gone elsewhere. Had they spent more than one minute in trying to actually fix our existing damper, rather than trying to sell us a new one for $ 490, perhaps it could have been fixed properly. As a non-expert, this seems to be a problem that is susceptible to any easy fix, if one actually tries to fix it.

In summary, very unhappy with their work.

They came when they said they would.  They took great pains to protect the shrubs and they sealed off the fireplace inside the house to ensure no dust was generated in the house.
They were very careful on the roof.
Robert Reese kept in touch with us prior to and when the work was being done.  He had a great group of craftsmen who did the work.
They did everything they said on the quote and the price we paid was what they quoted.
What was amazing is that they were able to match the brick used so that you would not know that the work was done.
We could not be more pleased with the quality of the work performed.

They were fantastic. They started the work two months ago and finished it up a week ago. I spent $28000 on the job, which I thought was a good price. I had received other bids and this company had the best one. I was pleased with everything they did. The guys were very easy to work with. The owner was fantastic. My wife worked with them hand in hand since I was not around. They were very responsive. They suggested some solutions to the areas of the basement that were superior to the other places. They definitely worked with me and got down to a personal level with me, which I thought was more important rather than just coming out. I valued their opinion and they valued mine. There was good communication. They put in a bathroom and a bedroom. They remodeled 1400 square feet of space. They finished up a bathroom and did the drywall and insulation work. They also built another huge bedroom and a play area. They also finished up a fireplace. They mirrored the window and door placements in the house in the basement. They even built some woodwork at the bottom of the stairs. They did above and beyond what I had expected. They were top-notch. They started off with basic things, but later they got into doing elaborate things. I will definitely use them again in the future.

He came on the date promised. He completed the work on time at the agreed-upon price. Since this was a home office with relatively large, heavy furniture, he took the furniture apart, moved it out of the room, and, after the walls were complete, he reassembled and put back the furniture. For us, the entire process was transparent. All we did, was but back the books and supplies.
