Ron and Lindsey seem to be nice people, however, when I wanted to understand the pricing I was given, Ron refused to do so. He starts you off quoting a high number and claims to have lowered it so that he makes you feel good about it and think you are getting a great deal. I am in commercial real estate and work with contractors/construction all the time. To understand the pricing is not much to ask. He claims he does so many estimates that he doesn't have time, however, I know it doesn't take that much time as he had to get the numbers together to put his price together. The price was more than what I was looking to pay so I wanted to see where I could reduce costs on the project. He then said I would be too hard to work with so he was declining the job. He didn't want to look at ways to reduce the costs for me (ie reduce island size, etc). He simply didn't want to discuss how he got his numbers which makes me think he has quite a bit of profit in them. I understand making a profit and he is entitled to but just be honest about it. He is looking for less sophisticated people to work with so he can make more money. He may do great work...I can't speak to that but trying to understand the costs involved in a $30K project is not a lot to ask.

Not at all good. Not a happy and I told him. He did not do the prep work correctly. No tape, left primer on wall. My husband had to tape it the area. Now he said he can not finish the job. Now my husband had to do it. I told him this had to be done in three days. If he need help, he should've hire other person to help. I had to tell him how to do the work. He wouldn't number the door to put back on the cabinet. This whole project been very stressful for me.

The bathroom was fantastic and we have received a number compliments on it! This being our first remodel ever, Steve was prompt to come over and give us the initial quote (which closely matched the final price--albeit not exactly due to some incremental adds throughout the process), was able to seamless work with our plumber, and was incredibly kind and thoughtful in his execution. He maintained his timeline throughout the process and was a strong partner.

Everything went GREAT! Stan and his crew understand that you live where they work. They respected our home, made sure the dog didn't get out and kept the work area as clean as possible. We have a small master bath and did not want to change the blueprint, just completely update down to the studs. I had looked into options on wall covering vs tile and found the Onyx Collection (available at Menards and Lowes). I had asked Stan to research the product and he offered suggestions on how to utilize the product successfully. It was great! Onyx created the basin for our shower along with the walls and side panels. Working with Stan was wonderful. He took my vision and utilized the tools available to create what I wanted. I love my new bathroom. The workmanship on the project is spectacular! Stan suggested that I go to Banner Plumbing to get ideas when we were just talking about ideas and that was a great start for any project.

    Wolf Cabinetry
Out of all the vendors I used for a significant house renovation, Wolf was the most disappointing. They came recommended by my realtor, and, to do my homework, I visited their nice showroom way out in Palatine, where they proudly show off their (supposed) quality cabinets in order to, as their website claims, 'create a kitchen of your dreams'. Their prices are competitive, and I asked a lot of questions about the quality, but I was promised a great product and was told that supposedly Studio 41 sells these exact cabinets as well (unsure if that's accurate). The initial planning process was easy. Andy came out to measure and Julie creates the design in their 3D computer program for the cabinets (naturally you'll have to work with someone else for backsplash, hardware, appliances, etc). The overall cabinet options are limited but fine. Although my contractor could have installed the cabinets for half the cost, I chose to go with Wolf since this is their specialty. It is my understanding that they have had the same installers for many years, so I had every reason to believe that they were the experts. Some of the details of the installation were sloppy--but what was the most gut-wrenching issue is that while the installer was installing the door handles, his drill bit was old and he drilled too roughly, causing the majority of my BRAND NEW DOORS that I just spent thousands of dollars on to splinter around the drill holes. Sure, the splinters are on the inside, but the damage was on 32(!) of the doors. One is a mistake, two is a bad day, thirty+ is irresponsible and unacceptable. I asked for them to replace the doors. Julie promised that they would fix the mistake and that, according to an email from her, that they are always good with their word--but they just dabbed paint on the splinters which doesn't solve the problem since there were divets in the wood. The installer was clearly offended that I noted his mistakes and thought my expectation to have cabinets installed correctly was unreasonable, which resulted in him making rude and inappropriate comments to me--so much so that I did not feel comfortable with him in my house, so I requested that he be removed from this project. After communicating again with Julie that I did not find the solution acceptable, I took the site plan and specifically marked which doors needed to be replaced and was told they'd order new doors. That was in July 2018. I followed up every few weeks to see the status. I knew it would take longer than the month total it took me from the initial measurements to installation, but finally after jerking me around for five months the doors came in. Hallelujah! Except they only sent 17 instead of 32 and there was no rhyme or reason to which doors they sent. AND almost every one of the 'new' doors had some sort of flaw to it. Wolf Cabinetry claimed they were brand new doors, but, for example, one of the door's edges are all worn. Another came with odd drill holes already in it. After challenging them on this issue, they claimed the cabinet doors were brand new and divulged in an email "the factory did notify that since these cabinetry are mass production, standard, affordable price, they are not high end and will have imperfections on doors." In January when I asked about timing of replacement, I was told, 'now we are waiting for new batch of cabinetry but it will only arrive this spring from China'. Huh? Another 4-5 months? What a headache, what horrible quality, what bad business practice and what poor customer service. Definitely not a partner to create 'the kitchen of your dreams'

    RBR Total Home Remodeling
I want to take a moment to provide feedback and review on RBR. We recently had a bathroom remodel project. The PM (Rick) and team are all above and beyond, and we couldnt have asked for more. Theyre well organized before and after the project, extremely customer centric, genuinely care about our budget, and focus on the objectives and our tight timeline. More importantly, the workmanship was incredible, and the work performed each day were on schedule (some time ahead of schedule) and maintaining a clean environment. Yes, thats another big compliment! They came in early in the morning, get the work done, and quietly leaves the house keeping it so clean like they were never here. We were blessed to have this team. I couldnt say enough good thing about RBR and this team. When we needed changes to the project, theyre all contributed ideas and improvised as a team. Of course, we need to be reasonable customers with changes in project cost, but they were there to help us meet our objectives. Excellent work!

If you are reading this looking for a small business that is totally professional with not only the work done, but the whole process from quote to finish. Without the hassle and expense of hiring a big corporation. Look no further. Steve did such a professional job. Everything was done with care and expertise down to replacing the smallest ring that covers the pipes to the wall (something we never would have considered). He communicated his progress every step of the way. We couldnt be more pleased with the whole process and the end result of a bathroom we always dreamed of having. We recommend Zebra Remodeling to everyone, and would hire again without a second thought. Note: price shown was for labor only, we purchased most the physical items ourselves.

    Skyway Remodeling
The results are fantastic! We have hired Skyway Remodeling twice and will continue to use them. Richard, the owner, has a great work ethic as well as his assistants. This team works steadily and completes the job in a timely manor within the agreed upon time. It is obvious that they know what they are doing and have done this before. Not only do we have a beautiful result, but everything was cleaned up with no garbage or mess left behind. In regards to cost (below) Richard had us buy all the materials and then he transported them with his truck. We paid him for labor when he was done. We had free reign to pick out what we wanted, unlike the two other quotes who wanted us to pay them so much for materials and labor upfront and then they would purchase within parameters. Skyway Remodeling provides excellent work at reasonable prices. Thank you Richard for beautiful new bathrooms!
