    Lindemann Chimney Service Inc
Terrible, and as an Angie's' list member for many years I want to recommend that you take them off. I found ghese guys through Angie's' lost, and wish I never had. The fireplaces were done less than a year ago, and have never worked properly, and the company makes it seem like our fault. One we had to turn off the gas and cannot even use because it would not turn off. When we called the company they actually told us to call the fire department. A second one has one tiny flame coming out. Bad work, bad service, and not what Angie's list stands for.

These guys are fantastic.  I wish every home services company operated the way they do.  Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, clean, and communicates well with their customers.  We have used them for a few years now to do annual cleaning and servicing of our pre-fab fireplace and chimney.  Pretty straightforward stuff but work that I would never do on my own.  They always call to confirm the day before and then call in advance of arriving.  I appreciate this part as much as them doing a good job on the cleaning.  They are also good at discussing potential issues and explaining how certain parts might wear out and what the cost/effort might be to address them when the time comes.  There's never any pressure to do work that isn't yet needed.

We bought a foreclosure which has lots of issues with the chimney's. During the home inspection the repairs came in at 17,000 to 21,000 in chimney repairs. Once we closed on the house I found Sol's. I called him because he had great review on Angie's list. He came out and first repaired our furnace chimney which was completely enclosed. They did a great job on the first job doing everything they had said they would do. So we hired them to put a gas log and repair the top of our main chimney.  Everything turned out great and I would recommend them to anyone in the area looking for chimney repairs.

    Northwest Metalcraft
We had been considering replacing gas logs in a fireplace in our house. They were very low end and poor quality with absolutely no energy efficiency. As a result, we never used the fireplace.
We went to the show room at Northwest metalcraft and the staff there were very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us on our options. They have a broad range samples right in the store, so it was helpful to be able to see the units and options. We were able to have a representative come and measure and quickly provide a quote on the options.
The removal of the old unit and installation of the new one went smoothly.
We did have a few hiccups with the unit itself - for example, a rattling noise when the fan was on high and then, a month or two later, some of the finish on the door came off because it had not "cured" properly. In both cases, Scott, who had installed the unit, was very responsive in coming to address the issues, both of which were easily resolved. It is good to know that they stand behind their products and are committed to customer satisfaction.
As far as the unit itself, it was definitely a bit of an investment, but one I wish we had made years ago. We LOVE the gas insert. And, it has definitely saved us money on heating as we use it in the family room, which is the most used room of the house and also the coldest, as the only room situated on a slab and between three doors leading to the outside. We can keep that room cozy without having to turn on (or up) the heat for the rest of the house.
All in all, I would recommend both gas inserts and Northwest Metalcraft as a place that provides a good selection and commitment customer satisfaction.

    Hearth & Home, Inc
I decided to move away from buring wood  to have a gas fireplace system to avoid the trouble and time with buring wood. I visited Hearth and Home and they recommended at vent-free system based on my fireplace setup. They helped me pick out the correct model to fit the space in my fireplace and one that meet by visual and use needs. We scheduled the appointment and they showed up on time, has zero mess, and explained exactly how to use the system. It was a very good experience.
