Cabinet Making reviews in Palatine

Encore did a great job, shopped around and decided to go with them. Very professional from the sales to the installers, job was done on time and it looks really good. Love my new garage. It really makes a difference.

    Wolf Cabinetry
Out of all the vendors I used for a significant house renovation, Wolf was the most disappointing. They came recommended by my realtor, and, to do my homework, I visited their nice showroom way out in Palatine, where they proudly show off their (supposed) quality cabinets in order to, as their website claims, 'create a kitchen of your dreams'. Their prices are competitive, and I asked a lot of questions about the quality, but I was promised a great product and was told that supposedly Studio 41 sells these exact cabinets as well (unsure if that's accurate). The initial planning process was easy. Andy came out to measure and Julie creates the design in their 3D computer program for the cabinets (naturally you'll have to work with someone else for backsplash, hardware, appliances, etc). The overall cabinet options are limited but fine. Although my contractor could have installed the cabinets for half the cost, I chose to go with Wolf since this is their specialty. It is my understanding that they have had the same installers for many years, so I had every reason to believe that they were the experts. Some of the details of the installation were sloppy--but what was the most gut-wrenching issue is that while the installer was installing the door handles, his drill bit was old and he drilled too roughly, causing the majority of my BRAND NEW DOORS that I just spent thousands of dollars on to splinter around the drill holes. Sure, the splinters are on the inside, but the damage was on 32(!) of the doors. One is a mistake, two is a bad day, thirty+ is irresponsible and unacceptable. I asked for them to replace the doors. Julie promised that they would fix the mistake and that, according to an email from her, that they are always good with their word--but they just dabbed paint on the splinters which doesn't solve the problem since there were divets in the wood. The installer was clearly offended that I noted his mistakes and thought my expectation to have cabinets installed correctly was unreasonable, which resulted in him making rude and inappropriate comments to me--so much so that I did not feel comfortable with him in my house, so I requested that he be removed from this project. After communicating again with Julie that I did not find the solution acceptable, I took the site plan and specifically marked which doors needed to be replaced and was told they'd order new doors. That was in July 2018. I followed up every few weeks to see the status. I knew it would take longer than the month total it took me from the initial measurements to installation, but finally after jerking me around for five months the doors came in. Hallelujah! Except they only sent 17 instead of 32 and there was no rhyme or reason to which doors they sent. AND almost every one of the 'new' doors had some sort of flaw to it. Wolf Cabinetry claimed they were brand new doors, but, for example, one of the door's edges are all worn. Another came with odd drill holes already in it. After challenging them on this issue, they claimed the cabinet doors were brand new and divulged in an email "the factory did notify that since these cabinetry are mass production, standard, affordable price, they are not high end and will have imperfections on doors." In January when I asked about timing of replacement, I was told, 'now we are waiting for new batch of cabinetry but it will only arrive this spring from China'. Huh? Another 4-5 months? What a headache, what horrible quality, what bad business practice and what poor customer service. Definitely not a partner to create 'the kitchen of your dreams'

    Kitchen Cabinets Deal
I am very happy with my decision to purchase kitchen cabinets from Kitchen Cabinets Deal. My husband was busy at that time and I had to work directly myself on my kitchen remodeling project with the minimal knowledge of the subject in the beginning. Fortunately Sergei, the owner of Kitchen Cabinets Deal not only provided free measurements of my kitchen but also free cabinets design. Customer service representative Isabella was helping me daily with my questions and was explaining every detail needed to complete my project. Additionally, pricing was also very competitive, so our kitchen project turned out great and we can definitely recommend Sergei and his team.

    Anix Inc
Anix was recommended to us by friends after we had met with several other contractors. Right away we were impressed that the representatives from Anix brought 3D mock-ups of the proposed renovations to our initial meetings. Additionally, Anix brought to our attention several potential issues (that later turned out to be true) that were not raised by other contractors. Despite this, Anix's estimate was competitive with the other estimates we received. We were very pleased with the quality of work performed by the Anix team as well as their responsiveness and ability to manage expectations. As this was our first major remodel, we were very appreciative of the additional time the Anix team took to work with us. While there are always surprises in large projects like these, the Anix team did an excellent job of keeping to budget. We intend to use Anix again on future renovations.

    Chicago Closets & Cabinetry
I had a great experience with Chicago Closets. I had several quotes and designs from different companies. Tim listened to what I wanted and made a beautiful and efficient design. I love my new closet! They arrived on time and cleaned up and contained messes daily. They did my garage a few years ago and it is still amazing. I am so happy I am going to have them design one of my daughter's closets too. I highly recommend! Great product, price, and design!

    Kitchen Village
We met Jim at Kitchen Village after seeing the great kitchen they did for our neighbor. They did our kitchen design (great ideas) and helped us every step of the way (included our powder room too). The ideas kept coming and the choices became easier and easier with the guidance. Our satisfaction has always been first and foremost. We could not be happier! We are grateful for all of the time and energy that Jim and all of his staff/contractors gave us. With their direction and hand holding we truly have the kitchen of our dreams!

    Kitchen Village
We are thrilled with the results! We have worked with Carol Hasler on the redo's of our master and hall baths and now the kitchen. Carol is wonderful to work with. She starts by understanding what is needed and wanted and then strives to provide the best possible solutions. Her designs take advantage of the good points of the existing situation and then move to improve where ever possible. We removed everything in the kitchen, moved locations of refrigerator and stove, eliminated a peninsula and added an island. The new cabinets are beautifully made and emphasize the height of the room by being taller than the old ones. Once again, the tile work is the signature part of the room (as was the case in the master bath). The backsplash is a combination of glass subway tile, metal rail, and glass mosaic tiles. It pulls the whole room together. We particularly appreciate the way problems are addressed, calmly and with ingenuity. Carol helped with sourcing and selection of all the important materials-granite, lighting, tile, colors, etc. We never feel abandoned. A real plus was reusing one of the discarded kitchen cabinets for the laundry room. That and the tile make the room look new. Overall, the workmanship of the job was great. Any issues have been resolved quickly and with no arguments. They stand behind their work, even after the passage of time, as was the case with the resolution of a problem with the master bath fan which was installed two years prior. We recommend Kitchen Village and Carol Hasler without reservation and only feel sad that there is nothing left to remodel in our house.

Handy Men & Mrs Helper Kitchen & Bath
The contractor was on time, polite, got to work right away and covered everything near the area.  He removed the broken tile, cut the new one to fit around the cabinetry, then went to another job while the mastic was drying to avoid additional labor charges if he stayed.  He came back to grout and showed me the charges for the grout and mastic from the store, left the extra of course.  He also installed the threshold we already had and re-grouted a separate area in our entry.  The total was 253 for 2.5 hours of labor and $30 of materials.  The floor looks like nothing was ever broken.  Highly recommend!

    Rowe Construction
It went very well. Ryan was very professional and prompt in responding to our text messages. He helped us save money by recommending a cabinet and granite/quartz supplier that was much cheaper than any other source. He started the project on time and finished at the expected timeframe.
We would hire him again for any major remodeling project!
