  • Dr. Karimi is very difficult to understand. He has a very thick accent, which is fine, but he also cuts you off and will talk about himself for the entire session without asking you anything after the initial, how are you doing. I would have an appointment for 1pm and call to check in, even though I was working a good hour away. I would then show up at 7-8pm (the doctor told me to do this, mind you) and would have to wait to see him until 2-3am. He would talk to everyone for a hour or longer but schedule everyone in his book in 15 minute increments. I'm told he's doing this for insurance purposes because he's not supposed to talk to the patient that long, just 15 minutes and prescribe the meds.He misdiagnosed me. Told me I was bi-polar because my mother and sister are. Also told me I had a thyroid condition and put me on meds for all of those along with diet pills to counteract the side effects of the other meds. I ended up actually wanting to commit suicide from these meds and when I tried to get an appt with him (for two months!) he was unavailable. The office also wouldn't recommend another doctor. I ended up seeing my general doctor about it and found out that no one has prescribe the diet pills that I was on for over 15 years not to mention that I should be on diet pills at all. He was weary of taking me off the other meds so he sent me to another psych who changed all of my doses and was shocked I would have been diagnosed as bi-polar since I am clearly not. She said I just needed to talk to someone and gave me a few names, which Karimi refused to do even though I had asked multiple times.I am now off any drugs and doing just fine. Going to him was the worst thing I could have done to myself.
