  • I had a cystoscopy done by Dr. Kim on January 4. 2013. I feel that Dr. Kim has a very good technique with the scope as far as causing very minimal discomfort. However, I cannot speak well of my recent dealings of the AUS office staff.
On February 14, I called the office, as instructed, to get the pathology report results from a procedure Dr. Kim performed on me on February 8 to see if the suspicious area in the bladder was cancerous. The person I spoke with advised that the doctor was out of the office and that someone would call me the next day. I gave two telephone numbers (work and cell) and instructed that if I could not be reached at one number, I should be called on the second number. At 3:00 on February 15, someone from the office left a vague message on my work phone stating that she would call me on the second number I gave I provided the day before. Approximately 20 minutes and no one called me, so I called the office. I was informed that they were about to leave for the day and that the doctor was gone and would call me on Monday afternoon.
I explained that I needed the results that day, as it was unacceptable service for me to have to spend three more days wondering if I had cancer or not. I asked why the office did not call me on the second number I left. The person stated that a message was left on that second number. However, there was no call and no message was left on that number. The staff member I spoke to was argumentative and rude, She insinuated that I didn't get the information because I didn't answer my phone. She kept insisting they called the correct number and kept repeating that they were leaving for the day. The doctor had left the office minute after they tried to contact me. They did not offer to page him.
I asked that she verify which phone numbers they phoned me on. I was then put on hold and disconnected. When I immediately called the office back, no one answered the phone.
I noticed the next day by looking at an old cell phone I have not used recently, that the staff member staff member had called that number instead of the number I had explicitly instructed them to call me on. The issue could have been resolved if the staff member had only stayed on the phone with me another couple of minutes to verify my correct phone number, but the staff denied that they could have made a mistake and cut me off in their haste to leave the office. (As a side note, I had given my new cell phone number to someone at the office weeks ago, and had been previously called by a nurse on the correct number.)

Because the doctor and the staff felt that it was ok to make me wait five days to see whether I had cancer or not, I had to go out of my way to get the results in a timely manner. I had to leave work early, drive 45 minutes to the hospital, and get a copy from the medical records department. There was no problem retrieving it there. As it turned out, I did have cancer.
In a phone conversation on Monday, Feb. 18, the doctor apologized and said that this was not the first time a patient has had a problem with the employee I spoke with on the phone. I visited the office and spoke with the office manager, who said the matter would be and quot;handled.and quot; However, I requested an apology from the women who was rude and unhelpful on the phone with me, and have received none. I requested from the woman who was so rude and unhelpful on the phone. She is still employed there. I have no way of verifying whether the matter was handled or not.
I would return to this office because of the excellent medical care provided by Dr. Kim. However, because of a staff member who has been repeatedly allowed to give patients problems, I will have to be careful who I deal with in the office. I am very unhappy that this office could not show more consideration to and communicate more effectively to a long-time patient who has cancer. I believe any and every patient deserves better treatment than I got in this instance. I hope the office will revise their procedures to give more consideration to the patient.

  • This doctor was great.  His staff was great at the clinic too.  Unfortunately, I did not like the way the nurses called with updates that they fully did not understand.  Besides that, I loved the place.

  • After seeing my husband twice, they said that they didn't want to be his doctors anymore. I think that was because we were asking too many questions. When my husband went there, he mostly saw the nurse practitioner, he did see the doctor briefly, but it was mostly the nurse practitioner. The second time my husband went there, I went with him, as they were going to discuss surgery. The nurse practitioner was doing a test, but she couldn't calibrate the machine, she kept moving it from outlet to outlet until she found one that worked. I thought to myself that this was not confidence building. The doctor seemed defensive when I asked him questions about different types of therapies, I had gone on line and done my homework, I had looked up several different therapies, and he didn't seem to like that too much. We didn't particularly care for their whole attitude, and that was when Dr. Turk was recommended to us.

  • I see Dr. Sreckovic once a year.  He is very thorough and helpful.  He takes the time to answer any and all questions and seems very concerned about my health.  His office staff is friendly and helpful as well.

  • OVERALL experience- we think that these two doctors are very well educated, well experienced, and have perfect dispositions for their field of practice. We have never been anything but fully satisfied with their services, and recommendations.
AVAILABILITY- As most have said: you WILL wait. Expect to wait anywhere from 30 minutes to over an hour past your appointment time. Leave at least 2.5 hours for your total appointment.
OFFICE environment- It's clean, comfortable, located very close to a ultrasound practice and several pediatricians.
PUNCTUALITY- This can vary. You must understand that this is a small practice of only 2 doctors and they BOTH deliver babies at Christ and Palos Hospitals on any given day and at any time they are needed. There are emergencies that take precedence over a routine appointment and you might have to wait longer due to those emergencies. What this translates to- is that if YOU ever need the doctors in an emergency or delivery... they are going to do everything humanly possible to be there for you. I find that comforting especially when you are talking about the delivery of your child. Check with the administrative staff to see if they are running on time if you are concerned about your schedule. Understand that you can reschedule, in my experience, VERY easily if you think you might not make it to your next appointment. AND PLAN to be there about 2.5 to 3 hours total. The wait time has never deterred me and I wouldn't want to see another doctor based on this aspect alone. It is my opinion that they are very much WORTH THE WAIT.
STAFF friendliness- Nurses and administrators here have ALWAYS been efficient, friendly, and receptive towards us. Even they take the time to explain to the best of their abilities certain situations and to help the patients as much as possible.
BEDSIDE MANNER AND COMMUNICATION- Both doctors are compassionate, knowledgable, understanding, gentle, friendly, professional, and personally vested in you and your visit. They take the time to FULLY answer questions and to make sure you are satisfied. If this translates to a wait time. This is also worth waiting for in my opinion. It is our experience that they are well educated and if they don't have an answer immediately, they will make sure to research it and get back to you quickly. They have always been able to answer my questions on the spot. I don't expect my doctors to know ever changing statistical data off the tops of their heads. The doctors have always addressed test results at follow up appointments and not with a phone call- but we have never had a test performed that required emergency care or immediate knowledge of the result. It is their policy that, if you would like to know your test results, to contact the office by phone when the results are delivered. This is quite common for non- emergency results and I have encountered it at almost any type of medical practice that I have attended. I suspect that in an emergency, the patient would be contacted by the doctor immediately.
EFFECTIVENESS of treatment- We have always been satisfied with our treatment and the services of the doctors.
BILLING- Through the billing service you can mail in your payment with credit card or check. Last time we checked: To pay in the office you must pay cash.

I would recommend both of these doctors to my friends and family. This is a great practice and they provide wonderful care!

  • *************************************** HIGHLY OVER-RATED************************************************
                                                                                    Overall    D- / F+

    Mostly OLDER/ GERIATRIC patients.

    Non Professional staff:
Office staff was very friendly & apologetic for rediculous wait time, hot stuffy- not enough chairs, grossly over-crowded -office.

    Professional staff:
RN was kind, apologetic honest & efficacious. (When allowed to be so).

    • The staff & some over hearing patients laughed ..."oh she must be new around here",  regarding the L O N G  wait on a normal - NO surgical emergency day.
    • I waited OVER 3+ hours to be put into an examine room!!!!  I left his office after 10:40 PM for a 7:00 PM appointment time!!!
    • Due to the backlog...at 10:40 PM numerous other patients were still coming in for their earlier scheduled appointments!

    EXAM
When the MD came into the examine room he was soft spoken, not particularly friendly & his English was NOT easy to understand. He was certainly NOT gentle during the bodily invasive aspects of the physical exam.
He did not listen attentively & attempted to RUSH  through the consultation. He was repeatedly circumlocutions (did not answer & talked in circles) when asked direct questions; very frustrating! When asked specific technical medical questions (I am An RN) or questions regarding possible complications of suggested procedure KUMAR was again, repeatedly circumlocutions.

Followup was disorganized, un- cohesive  & unprofessional.... a real lack of continuity of care.

    • Received an office call 2 weeks later to schedule a followup appointment.that was supposed to be scheduled upon my leaving my initial consult .
    • They never followed up regarding lab work results; I had to initiate the followup.
    •  I could not understand the KUMAR's  English when he finally left a message on my phone regarding the lab work results etc...       I called again &  had them send documented results to my home....I finally followed up with my family MD & a new MD specialist.

Perhaps this is the kind of medicine practiced in 3rd world countries & in the USA - back in the day when MD's were considered GODs. It does not fly anymore~

  • Dr. Luke has an excellent bedside manner and he truly cares about and remembers his patients. Due to health reasons I had to be induced, and was in labor for over 48 hours. Dr. Luke continually checked on me during this time and wound up performing a C-Section at midnight on a Saturday. He was very nice and after about 36 hours presented a C-Section as an option but made sure that I didn't take the decision lightly as it was major abdominal surgery. He was not pushy and also gave me the option of continuing to try for a natural birth. I'm not sure if this is where I should put this or not, but his office staff is also exceptional, I loved all the nurses and the Nurse Practitioner. I would highly recommend everyone in that office.

  • He stopped the nasal hemorrhage in my nose. Whatever he did he took care of it immediately. I had the hemorrhage for a week. I went into an emergency room and went back home but again the nose vessel broke. I then saw Dr. Gavron and now my nose has been good for over 6 months. It is easy to get an appointment with him. Whenever I called him he called back.

  • I have seen him for about a year. He delivered my twins. His bedside manner is good. he is very professional. He explained everything very well. He answered all of my questions. He gets things done in a timely manner. His staff is wonderful. The care there was great. It takes about two weeks to get in for a scheduled appointment. He is so knowledgeable.
    - P. Rico C.
  • Everything has always been exceptional there. His staff is very nice and very professional. I think only one time in both of my pregnancies I have had to reschedule an appointment because he had an emergency at the hospital. I would encourage anybody to see this doctor or any other physician at this office.
