    Modern Piano Moving
It went very well. From the first phone call speaking with Chris to the delivery at my sister's house in Connecticut, everything was perfect.
After Chris spoke to my sister and got the ok from her, he called me back to let me know what day the movers would be at my house. He also gave me the time slot. On the pick up day, the driver called me when they were about 20 minutes away. They got here and systematically went about preparing the piano to get it up the 4-5 stairs outside and into the truck. The two men who picked up the piano were so polite and worked very well together and fast. I was very impressed. They were probably done within 1/2 an hour. It takes about a month to ship because they pick up all the pianos going in the same direction and then deliver them. On my end they were here around the beginning of October and my sister received the piano on November 8. She was just as impressed with them as I was. I am very grateful to Modern Piano for taking such good care of our upright and getting it to my sister in a relatively short period of time.

    Under One Roof Inc
The movers were pleasant and professional.  They packed well and moved items with care.  Of our entire house, only one glass was broken.  (In contrast another company did a partial move for our house staging and broke numerous items without letting us know.)  Everything was done on time and budget.  They saved us a ton by helping move our piano and electronics without using specialty movers; although, they stated they can't always do this.  They even gave us pointers on repairing scratches on the hardwood floors (not their fault).
Altogether they did a great job and I have no reservations about recommending them or using them again.

    Quality Piano Moving
The crew showed up punctually, was courteous and professional, and accomplished the first move with no difficulty. The second move proved to be a problem, as the piano was very heavy, and they had to call in an extra man to accomplish the job. But they got the job done. In the process, they slightly damaged a wall, but quickly dispatched a carpenter to fix it at no cost.

    Modern Piano Moving
The scheduling person was ok, but a fair amount of telephone tag.
Turns out that they have a moving van that travels around the country, making multiple stops, picking up pianos; and drops them off at a central warehouse (??in St. Louis??- I'm not sure of location) from where the piano is then re-loaded and shipped to its final destination.  Thus the dates of pick up and arrival are approximate, and  only firmed up closer to the date of delivery.
For the pickup, the 2 movers put the piano on a dolly- on the midsection of the piano.  Going down the front steps, they managed to drop/bang the piano on each step.
A different crew unloaded the piano in Chicago.  a 2x 4 inch of veneer was missing from the front of the piano, for which the Chicago crew was very apologetic; they took pictures and documented it.  They were pretty careful in moving/installing the piano, and made sure the keys all worked; they gave me a contact at Modern Piano for repair.
Modern Piano then farmed out the repair work to a local person; took more than 6 wks to complete- the local person didn't call; I left messages/they were out of town. Finally came out and repaired it- BUT didn't replace the missing veneer; merely painted it a color similar to the rest of the piano.
After servicing/tuning the piano with an independent piano tuner, piano is in good working order, despite rough treatment.
I would not use this company again.  Ever.

    Burrows Moving Co
It was a crew of five big guys.  They showed up on time, were consistently clear and up-front in communicating with my wife and me all day, asking us lots of questions about how we wanted things.  They made sure to do extra padding and packing of things that needed it.  They worked super hard and took a well-deserved break in the middle of the day.  They packed the trucks expertly. They took their time with the piano and made sure they had a good plan of how to get it down the stairs. My crew was Ed, Juan, Tony, Jason and Mike.

    TENTES PIANO MOVING
Went great. We're doing construction on the house, so we needed to move the piano out of the way of where the new addition is going to be. The piano is a family heirloom, so I get nervous when anyone touches it. Found the company on Angie's list, but they only had one review. When I asked for references, I found out they move all the pianos for Steinway which made me feel much more confident. I also found out that my piano tuner recommends them. The two men who came to my house were very professional & definitely knew what they were doing. I'm going to be calling them again when I need to move the piano back to its original location.

    Peterson Moving Co
I called 10 Angie's List companies & received quotes ranging from $750 to $1050. Needless to say I was surprised by Peterson's quote of $380. In fact, I had second thoughts because it seemed to be too good to be true. I decided to take a gamble knowing that the piano was covered under my homeowners insurance. The three movers which included supervisor, Felipe Maldonado, arrived on time to the minute. Felipe & his crew disassembled the piano with surgical precision & wrapped everything carefully in plastic & padding. They did this so methodically that it was obvious that they knew exactly what they were doing. Felipe then thoughtfully asked if we would like the existing furniture rearranged to accommodate the empty spot where the piano had stood. On arrival to my house the three movers carried the piano up 7 stairs & reassembled it without difficulty. They confirmed final placement and completed the job by removing the garbage. Reliable, professional and reasonably priced!

Karen was great on the phone. Gave me the exact information and what it would cost. She said that it would be delivered between noon and 2:00 pm, and that they would call me as they were getting closer. My only negative comment is that they didn't deliver it until 4:30 and I had to keep calling for updates - they never called me. If I had known the late timetable, I would have stayed at work longer and not been waiting around.

    A-Available Moving Company, Inc.
They were excellent, hardworking, and had a very good price. They had so much to move, and there estimate was accurate. They also provided wardrobe boxes when we forgot them. The movers are very nice, very hard working, and very strong. All of the movers really cared about our things as if they were their own. I've seen movers that have less experience, and it makes all the difference to have people who really know what they are doing. I had a bad experience moving my piano on a previous move. They moved it perfectly. It was worth every penny! Thanks for such a great experience!

They picked up the piano in Dallas and were very professional, they even allowed my mom to take photographs of the piano. They also documented the condition it was in at the pick-up. They said that it would take a month, but actually it was delivered in about 2 weeks. Russ (who said he's been with the company for over 20 years) & his assistant were on time (actually, early), and very careful with the piano. They also had beautiful wood casters on the truck, which they sold to me to protect my floor. They were patient in moving the piano in the room until I was satisfied.
