Like other reviewers, I would say that you just need to be prepared to call back and ask for whatever wasn't completed as expected. They WILL come back and take care of it. The problem for a new mom like me, is that it's so difficult just to find the time to have to keep calling to nag about different things that weren't completed properly. They covered my stepping stones, didn't put down enough mulch, and on a separate service of clearing my fall leaves, they blew leaves into my neighbors yard and didn't clear them until I called back (I'm not about to be a rude neighbor!). The front guy, Art, is great. His men are kind of sloppy, and at times rude (like when I went out and told them they were blowing leaves into my neighbor's yard and they denied it). The thing that disappointed me the most, however, was that the quality of the mulch was not what I was expecting. Art said it was like the bark of a tree, so I was thinking it was going to be the heavy stuff that comes in big pieces. However, it was very light, some of it almost like saw dust. The stuff I had them remove to put down the fabric, was of much higher quality, so it was a huge letdown for me. Price was what I was expecting, they were responsive and punctual, and the lady on the phone is polite.

They did an ok job the first time. When they came back the second time, they removed everything in my garden down to the soil, including 30 strawberry plants I had just transplanted, a crop of dill I intended to dry for the winter, the dried and leafy stalks of phlox that were necessary to shelter small animals from our neighborhood coyotes (I have a certified Back Yard Wildlife Habitat that specifically requires the provision of shelter), butterfly bushes that are not supposed to be cut back until new growth begins in the Spring, my entire butterfly garden that I was letting go to seed (I have a certified Monarch Waystation), an entire mint garden containing half a dozen varieties I gathered over 20 years, a year-old native-plant rain garden which cost over $600 to install, a bouquet of artificial flowers marking the grave of a beloved family pet, and much more. In addition, they broke off two sections of decorative fencing, leaving them with parts broken off, stuck through the neighbor's chain-link fence. All I asked this company to do was to clean up the fallen leaves. I did not ask them to do anything to the garden. In addition, it was a rainy day, and they blew mud all over my garage siding and the front and back stairs, which I had to clean up to avoid having mud tracked into my freshly-cleaned house.

    R & G Almanza Landscape
I loved working with Raul and R&G services, from start to finish. Returned my call within a day; came to provide an estimate within 1 day; provided a thoughtful and competitive estimate; provided a great great crew that worked hard and effectively; did not leave without ensuring that I was satisfied.....He has another customer for life!! (I got his name from Angies List)

They came as a team of workers, the owner trimmed the tree and bushes by hand, did all the work as stated.  Placed all waste on their truck and hauled everything away.  Everything was done as agreed upon and yard looked great.

Previous to Art our small condo association used two of the more prominent landscape companies in the near west suburbs.  The first did more damage than they were worth -- sprinkler system spouts broken, soaker hoses attacked with weed eaters.  The second didn't take our schedule seriously -- last year they started charging us for services even though we had no contract for their services.  Green Art was quite responsive to the somewhat unique parameters we established.  His crews are very competent and thorough -- and speak English.  He has not missed any scheduled dates.  Green Art is very easy to work with and does a very good job.

    SALVADOR'S LANDSCAPING
Frankly, I'm hesitant to write this review because I'm afraid Salvador will get even more popular, causing him to become less available. Salvador's is really the best-kept secret in landscaping. The owner, Salvador, always shows up to review a job and speak with you before work starts. He's not very talkative, and don't expect a sales pitch or an elaborate design sketch. But you can expect him and his crew to work very hard, do quality work, and do everything at an AMAZING price. Plan ahead if you want work done, because he's often booked months in advance. But he clearly does his best to get the job done as soon as possible. For example, this summer I asked him to mulch and weed our backyard. He was booked for weeks, but his assistant (and wife?), Maria, promised me he'd do his best to fit me in. A couple of weeks later, on Memorial Day, in 100+ degree heat, Salvador and just one other guy showed up and did my entire lawn. I was stunned and thrilled.

Great, very easy to work with and they do great work. Better than the other landscapers we used to work with.

The fall cleanup was a little disappointing. They did not do as much as I expected them to do. They were off schedule a bit because of the weather. Overall, they are a good company.

The yard looked completely better when they were finished with the fall clean-up, and they really took their time to get it right. They are very good, and they are very reliable.

I was very impressed with the work that was done by this company. They come every week on time and leave a great finished product. I would recommend them to anyone. They are pleasant and trustworthy.
