    Perma-Seal Basement Systems
Feb 2010. Basement of 100+ year-old house took on water during heavy rains -- we put up with it for nearly 10 years. Permaseal installed drain system inside foundation with drain channels from wall cracks. I had to separately contract for a sewer connection and an electrical outlet. Their work went smoothly -- took a day or two. They were timely and cleaned up after themselves well. It was kind of a mess overall -- I wish we had done it before we moved into the house. We had to move everything away from the basement walls and remove a small staircase so they'd have access. It's been a blessing, though -- we can now use the basement without a worry. We've had them do an annual inspection every year since; technicians are courteous and thorough -- only minor annoyance is that they gently try to sell us new pumps, batteries, etc -- even a new water heater.

    Ulb-Dry Waterproofing Inc
ULB responded quickly to my call and scheduled an inspection in the next few days - -unlike some competitors who were not available for a month. They consulted with me about the best solution, and I agreed with their proposals. We scheduled the work for a time in the near future that worked for both of us. They showed up promptly and made the repairs. I'll have to wait for spring rains to test whether the seepage has been corrected, but I think that ULB was very thorough.

Concrete Crawlspaces & Basement Waterproofing Corp
Excellent. Highly recommend!!! Jason was very flexible as we started talking about this ~4 months before we did the work and came out twice as the plans slightly changed. He assessed work as unnecessary, that another contractor recommended, helping keep prices down. Javier showed up with the crew on time and finished right on schedule with no surprises. All work looks great. Necessary care was taking for cleanup, etc.

    Accu-Dry Waterproofing & Concrete Pumping
Accu-dry does great work, but their early trouble shooting was not so good. Had to come back three different times to solve the problem and patch the leak. Workers and field supervisors are solid and hard working; folks handling the phone calls/scheduling, however, were not on top of things. Long, maddening delays between responses. This should have been easier than it was. However, I would use these folks again because they are honest and do very solid work.

I didn't have work done, but that is because Gary helped me figure out that my leaking wasn't from the foundation, it was from cracked stucco. He didn't try and sell me on something he knew wasn't the issue and I appreciate that a lot! I can't speak to their work, but I wouldn't hesitate hiring them on for any future issues.

    Basement Seepage Solution Inc
finished our basement in Oak Park and before spending thousands of dollars on the remodel, it was crucial to add a sump pump and drain tiles to ensure no water would get into the house. We had four quotes and went with Matt and his team. We were told continually assured "You will not get anymore water in here." They finished the job and we had another team come in and finish the remodel. After our FIRST major rainfall, we had water coming in, soaking our carpet and running down the wall. After several calls, the owner finally picked up and said he could be there in 4 DAYS since he was busy. After arguing, he agreed to come the next day and fix it. The "fix" involved making a bigger mess and more water came in the next day. After arguing with me on over the phone, the owner said he would refund the money that we paid to have their company do the work (the only thing he did right). We have since figured out that his company NEVER put drain tiles along the North wall of our basement (He said he "snaked the pipes"). We have had to pull up the brand new tile, carpet, removed the stairs and open the walls, add drain tiles and now redo everything. We are out more money due to this company. They are unprofessional, rude and incompetent and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Quite honestly, they should not be allowed to do this work, as they clearly are just trying to make a quick dollar.

    Barts Remodeling & Construction Inc
We contacted Bart in May about waterproofing and refinishing the basement. He asked when we wanted to start and we said by August. His crew was able to do all of the work except stain the concrete floor--we contracted separately for that. Bart's crew was professional, on time, and clean, and the work progressed smoothly. It took 6-8 weeks and looked great when finished. A couple of months after the work was completed, we thought that water was seeping in the wall behind the furnace and called Bart; his plumber came immediately and showed us the source of the water, which had nothing to do with Bart's work. Bart is very professional, charming and responsive; we would definitely use him again!

    US Waterproofing
This project has been an absolute nightmare and it isn't even complete yet (more than 2 months after the initial work!) Our salesman who sold the project was incredible. He was super knowledgable, thorough, attentive, responded quickly. If I had only known that he was only the sales guy and we'd never receive that type of service again.... US Waterproofing has made numerous mistakes since the project began and I've worked with 5+ people throughout this nightmare process, only one of whom has taken responsibility and gotten back to me in a timely manner. The timeline of our outrageous experience (which has still not been remedied) is below: 5/2-5/4 Original USW Waterproofing Installation. 5/6 USW charges my credit card, a different one that the one I'd asked them to charge. 5/9 I tell USW they charged wrong credit card on 5/6. They tell me they'll fix it. 5/12 Basement gets water. Contact them immediately. 5/23 USW sends surveyor to look at what repair was needed. He documents needed repairs and schedules repair for 6/1. 6/1 USW repair guy comes and says the surveyor who came 5/23 diagnosed the wrong problem and he cannot fix it, he will need to send a different crew. 6/4 New USW crew comes to fix leaking 6/10-ish After 10+ emails, 25+ phone calls, speaking with Dawn, Larry & Tamisha, I speak with Larry inquiring about switching the card/reimbursement and he goes back to "why don't we just leave it on the original card, I don't understand why this is a problem." 6/13 USW charges my correct credit card but they don't reimburse my other card so now I'm holding $9500 charges on two of my cards. 6/14 Call to USW have window repaired that was broken during 5/2-5/4 installation 6/20 USW comes to fix window 6/23 USW shows up without notice when I'm not home to replace new window. 6/23 USW reimburses the card they incorrectly charged on 5/6. 6/24 I notice dried water/dirt marks on the floor but I clearly caught it after the leaking had dried. Take photos of dried water marks and take mental note to keep an eye on future water damage. 6/27 USW shows up again to replace broken window glass. 7/6 Basement gets water again. Send water damage photos to two different contacts at USW. Haven't gotten a response.

    Concrete Correctors
Grant and his team were great from the beginning of the project to the end.    You could tell that making sure we were fully informed throughout the process and that we were comfortable was a priority.  This is one of the smoothest  and highest quality contracting jobs we have done.  Would give them my highest recommendation and reference to others.

So far, so good... {knock on wood}.
The basement once was wet and now it's dry. We'll see how it holds, but I'm happy so far. There's a chance it could need some additional work, but he was up front about that and said he wanted to see how it goes and retreat during a summer dry spell if necessary.
