ABudget Right HandymanMy technician, Elvis, did an outstanding job with a high degree of professionalism and skill. He was great at talking through the scope of work, providing updates, and offering beneficial consultation. Elvis was very respectful in the way he approached conversations and in his attentiveness to ensuring the areas of my home where the work was being performed were protected and cleaned/organized during and upon job completion. I am truly amazed at all he accomplished on my very long 'list' and appreciative that he did the work with a level of detail and care as he would if it were his own home. That is really hard to find. I have been a customer of Budget Right for many years. I also greatly appreciate the responsiveness, flexibility and focus on customer satisfaction consistently provided by the staff. The lower rating on Price is due to the increases over time and varied work efficiency to complete the job across technicians. As a matter of practice, the office will match their best technician to the scope of work, but if you can't wait for that appointment date, you may get someone who isn't as experienced. The other way to save is to pre-purchase materials needed, to avoid the technician having to spend time at Home Depot or elsewhere. Budget Right is my go-to for jobs big and small for my home and rental property. I highly recommend them.- EILEEN B.

ASilver Hammer ConstructionRobert and his team were excellent. I had a long list of various things that needed attention, from replacing electrical outlets to repairing rotted cedar fence posts. Called Robert and was able to talk with him right away. Sent him over a list and he got back to me with a pretty detailed---and very reasonable---quote. Everybody on his team was knowledgable and did great work. We've already scheduled the next round and will certainly use Silver Hammer more often going forward.- Jeff O.

ASimply Custom BlindsThey have a great selection of Hunter Douglas, purchased the Edinburgh 801 - Historical Castle motorized. Greg Was help full in going through everything and options to make our purchase great, wasn't pushy at all on trying to sell us more stuff. Blinds took a little longer because of the holidays and was we'll worth the wait! We live in a high rise with a shared dinning/living room and only decided to do the living room side for now, going to be getting the dinning room done shortly. Blinds look great in this space and completely flow with everything!- Ron C.

Lowell is always patient and helpful especially when I can't make up my mind and need honest feedback. Whatever type of window treatment you're looking for, the Drapery Center will have what you want. Over the years, I've purchased custom made draperies, sheers, valances, cornices, roman pullups, and cellular shades. Whatever you order, the price will be reasonable and your window treatments will look fantastic. ANorthshore Shutters.comBill and Evan are a joy to work with they've been installing blinds, shutters and window treatments for 16 years. Bill arrived promptly for my estimate, listened to what type of fabrics I was looking for and brought samples I liked on the first visit. The time from order to install was just over three weeks, with COVID this is a great turn around time. 12 blinds and a slider were installed in just 2 1/2 hours. Evan did an amazing job. AThe company is an efficient family-run business and very customer oriented. I asked for bids from three companies, and Windo-Well was the lowest. They manufacture their own custom-made covers that are of very high quality (you can stand on them.) Installations are done by Dave and his son who are sticklers for precise measurements and installations. They were also very courteous and respectful. Calls to the office are immediately answered by Debbie (no answering machine), Dave's wife, who does an excellent job explaining their covers and installation. From measurements to installation took only a few days. You can't go wrong giving them your measurements over the phone for an estimate. If you like what you hear, Dave will come out to do precise measurements and leave you a written estimate. It was a pleasure dealing with this company.

AThese guys are top-notch professionals from start to finish. I first spoke over the phone with Jim, the owner. He didn't try to sell me at all; he just gave me an honest assesment of costs and timelines for different painting options. There was no pressure, and I could tell he knew exactly what he was talking about. The paint job itself was fantastic. It was completed on a tight timeline and done extremely well. What really stood out to me, though, was the follow-up service. Chicago Painters offers a free 30 day touch up, which was a great chance to get every little detail right. Blaze came for my touch up and truly went above and beyond what he had to do. He not only corrected every spot, however tiny, but he even helped touch up some areas that weren't their responsibility. Some of my touch ups will take multiple trips, and Blaze had no issue coming back again to finish my touchups. So, in the end, I'll be getting three visits to make sure everything is perfect, all included in my original quoted fee. I would highly reccomend Chicago Painters.
